The window to evade the attack is pretty small.

If you react late for whatever reason you gonna get hit.

There's the latency issue too, my god I was watching my friend's video of me tanking and it would show me moving like a second late and barely avoided the attack when I always move right away lol

Oh man I feel like an ass. I was tanking some guildhest, and my client crashes. No prob...I manage to log back in after about a min, and I'm still in the group. I run over to my group, agro pretty much everything in the guildhest, and wipe everyone.

If anyone was in that group, I'm sorry.

The problem is that is incosistent, sometimes I would barely manage to get out of the red zone and not get hit and others I should have been save by a good margin and get hit.

Damn I woke up early to log in and Ultros is still full as hell... I guess this game is good because it pisses me off when I cant log in.

There is no reason for a MMO to not have an afk kick.

No way, it's super cool that I'm sitting here spamming 0, while my wife is logged in waiting for me. Meanwhile for the last hour I've been trying, I'm looking at her screen where literally 100 people are afk standing around a town crystal not moving a damn muscle. IT'S SUPER.

Is a problem that is getting worst by day.

But obviously is more important being able to start selling digital copies and lifting character creation restriction so at least people can play on the new servers. It's so hard to put a bunch of programmers to work on a AFK kick system between all the new server stuff?

I haven't AFKd to save my self a spot but last night I felt about doing it. Wish I had ;_;

Sometimes is tempting but I'd rather not fall that low. Everytime I feel the 1017 I want to help even just a little to help other people not getting it...

Mira Mora and I were SLAYING last night FaTe grinding in Costa. I should've taken pics ;_;

Mira if you're here I'm not sure what your Gaf name is so holler @ meh :p

PS: I passed out after you left LMFAO

Where did they say they are adding more capacity to the servers? All I've seen is they are improving the duty servers and adding more servers, but not increasing an individual servers capacity of players. It ain't going to change anything since most people are not going to abandon their characters and you can't transfer characters off. Everyone spamming the servers to log in are going to be doing he same thing post maintenance. They aren't going to start over on new servers. And without adding a real queue system into the game, it's going to be the same 1017 1017 1017 1017 1017 for quite some time.

The entire reason they set the artIficially low server capacities was to prevent issues caused by Duty Finder overload. With that resolved they will (prolly slowly) raise the capacity back to normal levels.

Point. It was hard to see if he was trying or not.

I think I'm more mad at the collision detection between Aiatar and the acid pools than the 90000 errors.
Tank will still need alot of healing even avoiding that attack because one of its regulars is still pretty strong.

AOE damage seems like 30%-55% of HP

Not trying to be salty or anything, I'm genuinely new to any final fantasy mmo (not mmo's in general mind you). But is this typically how SE responds to this kind of thing? Because I'm basically seeing them taking people's money for a week, not doing a damn thing about an absolutely broken crushed system and basically saying "yup well, we'll do something about it sometime, hope it helps".

I don't know whether I'm more disappointed in them not having the foresight of seeing this coming and preventing it, or the lack of response in actually fixing it.

At this point it would take the most amazing game in the world for me to give them any money past my 37 days. I seriously doubt that's going to happen.

They're giving people an extra 7 days to their account for all of these issues, IIRC.

I loved FFXI but they were pretty bad/slow about responding to the community there too.
Though they didn't have problems like this.

I totally get the frustration. I haven't been able to play in a while. I can't even remember what I was doing last. My interest is fading fast. All this time there has been no improvement and what they've said they're doing on September 4 does not give me confidence that anything will be fixed. New Worlds aren't going to make the old Worlds suddenly more awesome. I doubt that at this point people are going to abandon their characters to start fresh on the new Worlds (maybe temporarily only so they can at least play).

That's how I've felt. I have today and tomorrow off. Was really looking forward to playing.

There was no way for them to really know. After the disaster that 1.0 was they were very conservative on the popularity of this game. I'm shocked myself at how popular it is, goes to show how strong the FF brand still is when you put a fun game together. They ordered the physical hardware for the backend but that stuff takes time to implement. You can't just throw a blade in the rack and flip a switch.

Everyone keeps saying this is a disaster and bad launch but most companies would kill to have a problem where there is so much demand to play your game.

Its good form to offer the 7 extra days of gametime.

Good form would be informing everyone that they will all be gettign one free server transfer since a lot of friends got split up due to this crap.

Perhaps they will though? I mean server transfers are not even live yet. So many people are so reactionary to pass judgement before letting the dust settle.

There hasn't been anything official. It'd be too early for that kind of talk right now, really. I mean, if it takes two weeks before the game is fully functional, then obviously extending your play time by 7 days doesn't really cut it.

Situation will start getting real hairy if it's not better by next week when all of the non-legacy 1.0 players start running out of time. Hopefully it'll all be better, though. Doesn't really fill me with hope that the seventh day since launch and it's the worst it's been for me. First time I've been unable to log in even at 7:30 AM.

What a cluster fuck.

Is it a holiday in the US?
Might explain why the servers are so full earlier today (people playing overnight + waking up early to play)

Yes, Labor Day.

I think a free server transfer is pretty likely tbh, or they'll at least throw it in as part of a 30-day veteran sub.

^ I see. Yeah, this makes sense then - it's usually easy for Europeans to log in over the past 6 hours or so, and it's been really hard today.

No one is saying anything about the game long term. Just that this launch has been terrible. And it has.

Not overheating. I have it OC'd and have it under a closed-loop cooler. Never gets over 50 C.

Thinking about putting it back to stock and stock cooler on.

I had graphics problems, I have a gtx 680 and it was dieing every few hours, downloaded different drivers and appears fixed now.

there was a gold spammer in limsa this morning. he was spamming the channel all alone for 30 minutes or so. i reported him, but it sucks how they can't remove them faster.

My launcher is freaking out like yesterday morning. Failing to load, or loads super slow. When the client finally opens the start button doesn't work, and when it does the NA\EU character list refuses to load. When that does load I get the 2002 error which closes my client. It's like SE has a bunch of counter measures in place to ensure we can't log on.

Edit: And now a system error code for the launcher, it doesn't load anything and stays completely black, then crashes.

That might be the case but I stand by the fact that most companies would kill to have a bad launch like this. I mean the demand is crazy to play it. Nearly every complaint is about not being able to get into the game and scratch that itch.

Where I do think they butt fumbled the most was not having an idle timeout kick. This has definitely created bloated servers where a lot of people may not be playing the game.
