Did they say they were looking to fix this server/login issue as early as this week? I've been stuck in queue (NO NA/EU SERVERS DERP) for 3 hours now with the occasional 1017 error just to keep things fresh. This is really getting out of hand now considering my level 48 DRG is just waiting for me to hit 50 :(
 
Yep I'm just gonna pick up Guild Wars 2. Play a little of that until the madness has ended. This game has me wanting to play an MMO now lol

I couldn't agree more. It's so frustrating watching ton of ice AoEs shattering around me while I'm standing there casting stone for 10 minutes.

Gets better at 45 because Holy's one of the stronger AoEs in the game and you can just throw out the big damage.

Doesn't make the actual FATEs any better though.
 
I could just play FFXI again. I have free game time forever because playonline deleted my character once lol
 
The 'unable to update group US/EU character list' error is killing me.
It's never been this bad, I've barely even been able to get as far as 1017 today, which means that the 0 spam script is useless because the loop is broken when the group error pops up (instead it just flits between the world list)

I really hope the fix tomorrow is a success.
 
I know this is stating the obvious but they need to get the servers bloody sorted. Been unable to update the NA/EU servers all evening.

I'm used to server queues at mmo launches and hicups, but this is beginning to test my patience.

Yeah, really hating the people yelling at me for taking too long when I take side paths or read everything when it's my first time in a dungeon. crybabies can deal with it, if they don't care about the story they can go back to WoW. If it's my first time in a dungeon I'm going to look at everything.
 
Error: Unable to update Group NA/EU character list.

I notice others are getting this error but others are able to get into a queue. Should I just keep hitting start until this error goes away?
 
Hey now you all, don't go out and diss GW2. It's a nice game with the right mindset. I had a different goal than other players, which was not reaching max level or getting gear, but visiting a certain grave. But the journey to level 35 or 40 was still nice and well worth my time.
Although you should avoid the Human, Norn or Charr starter zones, as those are just unpleasant or boring.
Go Sylvari or Asura is my advice.
Also, get ready to wear the same clothes for 30 levels. That pissed me off to no end. I probably did it wrong, but each time I got new armor, it looked like the previous one but with higher stats.

Damn, there are people that do this?
Fuck those people, I'm gonna take my sweet ass time when I enter a dungeon for the first time. Can't stand people that blow through every piece of content in a rush to get to endgame. Fuck y'all if you don't wanna read anything of the story, that's what I'm here for.
 
Btw, you all should watch the Garuda intro in Hardmode. It's so fun and really pumps you up to fight her. By far my favorite character in the game. She needs more screen time.

I love how exploring a dungeon completely can net you extra treasure coffers and I'm a bit disappointed when people rush through.
I had a cool Brayflox run yesterday with a group that was new to it, and thanks to the extra chests our tank came out with 6 new pieces of equipment, 4 from the extra chests and 2 from the bosses. Made for a great and rewarding time, everyone in the group lively and talking and declaring the dungeon the best ever lol.

Woah woah woah - hard mode?

Also can someone clear something up for me. If I was playing Warrior, for instance, and I chose NOT to become a Paladin - would I suffer at all? Are the basic classes AS effective at level 50 as those specialised jobs?

In party play it is generally better to play as a job, Warrior or Paladin. Gladiator or Marauder are better for your solo experience. Also, I think you would quite suffer a bit if you don't have Paladin's "Sentinel" skill as a Warrior, although Warrior as a tank job itself is amazing without additional skills. They just make it even better.
 
Does anyone know if there is a way to COMPLETELY dissble ALL environmental shadows? Like, is there a config/ini file I can edit?

The settings allow shadow quality for environment to be reduced, but not completely disabled. I can disable player shadows. But not environmental.

I'm not quite sure I grasp how jobs work at all yet - do I just swap to them like I would do another class? And so, in parties, do the basic classes have no use whatsoever? So WHM is a straight replacement for CNJ etc?

You equip a "Soul Crystal" as an item on your character page for the appropriate class, and you become that job. Jobs have their own minor story progression but are for all intents and purposes just an extension of the class.

Having a job equipped will give you access to increased stats and job exclusive actions, but will severely restrict what you're capable of cross-classing.

When you get a job you get an item that you slot into your character sheet thing that changes your job.

I want a way to keep an enemy's stats up to see his target and cast bar while having my target on the tank for heals.

I can't speak for WHM, but as for the jump from MRD to WAR it's much better to be the WAR for tanking because of the Defiance skill and stat point increases. I'm guessing that all of the jobs have some sort of superior role specific skill and stat increases associated with them, leaving the pre-req class inferior.

That seems to lock on and not have the extra enemy information but I want a way to bring up an enemy's bars and stuff as if I were actually targetting them.
