I could only stomach 117 minutes of duty finder queue while carpentering and botanizing. Three days straight of non progress kind of kills any desire to play when there is such a behemoth new GTA out. : /

Hey, maybe I can make some money on this shit piling up in my inventory since its not related to my craft!

I'll second the complaints on armours as well. Reusing the same tin-can fully helmeted heavy iron gear (in a game where youre supposed to have a vanity helmet off option) even for the games highest level armours is infinitely disappointing. In a series with so many iterations, costumes, lore to pull from and whatever, I guess this is the area that got rushed the most for release. Takes pretty much all the joy out of loot really.

Can someone ask the FC leader on Ultros not to kick me(Zachary Razgriz) please?
I originally was just goining to take a day or two break but I ended up with a severe sinus infection. almost can't get out of the bed.

Are you signed up on the Guildworks site? In the forums there is a leave of absence thread you can post on to let them know when you might be away from the game for some time.

Speaking of kicking, don't kick me either! I just renewed my subscription, I'm Alex Lancaster in Ultros FC. I've been preparing to start a new job (IRL) so ya.

Materia, gear, repairs etc.

Yep.

Theres alsp player housing and free company housing that we dont know the prices for yet. A part of me just wants to make money now so

I like to stay competitive.

I dont mind competition but its kinda silly when something is going for 1500 and then someone undercuts that by 50 gil. And then another guy undercuts that by 50 gil. And this continues. Theyd rather sell quickly for less but they also risk tanking the prices because of everyones urge to undercut eachother just so their name is put at the top of the list.

Craft your own?

Seriously its easy though a bit time consuming.... which playing the game for a long time is the point right?

repairs are indeed a pain...

Id love to be able to craft my own stuff but that would take a TON of time. To get everything I need, I would need to take Leatherworker, Weaver, and Goldsmith to 50 to be able to craft everything that I need.
Ill get there one day but right now, Im stuck buying and farming mats and shouting for others to craft for me.

I love it, actually! It's a win/win situation - players get cheaper prices and sellers who want to undercut the competition get their money fast. Day trading has become very meta-game for me at this point, I strongly encourage anybody with about 500k gil to look into it.

Damn, if only we could make investment groups in this game. Does EVE Online have that?

Are these people serious? ridiculous

I really hope these guys are serious. Running CM and requiring relic for it? CM is pretty much a cake walk as is with AF and 45+ weapons as is. That just seems like overkill. I know people are trying to rush to the end as quickly as possible, but that's a bit on the insane side to me.

While it does suck, if it is rushed, it will lead to better looking gear with each patch. GW2 had this problem as well (although they had a few different dungeon sets, but over half were really ugly and lazy) and now there's a ton of unique armor.

What exactly is this saying? I'm not all that familiar with the in game lingo yet. I understand the looking for two more part...
It's saying you need to have one of the best weapons you can get in the game to farm a dungeon intended for people who are still working on the main story (basically freshly 50).

I didn't know their vision of " we managed to meet the level of performance that we had initially planned" meant 1 hour long full party instance lines.

Not even sure what the rush is for. The sooner they get to end-game stuff, the sooner they complain about the lack of content in this game. I'm level 35 after Brayflox and I feel like I haven't scratched the surface yet. With 2.1-2.3 on the way, I feel like people who didn't rush to end-game will benefit more than those that did.

I don't see why this is bad? At least they're asking for it up front and not leaving/afking in Duty Finder CM groups.

Yeah. I mean, they're free to set whatever lofty requirements they want, however improbable it is. It's not like getting into a CM run is difficult for anyone anyways.

They can set whatever requirements they want, but the attitude is kind of toxic. If it spreads, we'd be in for a pretty dire situation eventually.

Getting really irritated that there's no word on transfers and nothing about the absurd duty finder wait times. Looks like I shouldn't expect any changes from tonight's very brief maintenance.

I see both sides honestly. I can understand that its elitist and excludes newer people, but at the same time I understand why they do it. People just want to get content done, and running through content for far too long/too inefficiently becomes annoying after awhile.

That's mainly why I just do content in FC. Too avoid the problem altogether.

Guys, can I ask you a few questions?

I got a 27% voucher from GMG for ARR so I figured I might try this one out. I didn't play the first rendition of FFXIV but I usually like MMO's, though subscriptions tend to lead me away from them after a while (WoW, SW). I also enjoyed Guild Wars 2 for quite a while until my friends dropped it.

Is this new version significantly better than what came out in 2010? It was bashed like hell back then, but I never played so won't really judge it.

Does GAF approve this new FF? And most importantly... can I have buddies help me out if I log in to that world? :(

So, I hear a lot of people say, "can't wait until the 30 days are up and these ppl leave"

I sometimes think that the only people left standing will be the elites in this game. The people who demand only the best geared and best skilled and best connected players. Elites that only want other elites with them. And by proxy, they're attitude toward progression will, for a variety of reasons, diminish the interest of players seeking a totally different style of MMORPG experience.

Holy fuck, MMORPGs need two types of servers or something: Hardcore and Casual.

The Duty Finder wait times aren't that long if you're a tank or a healer which seems to suggest the problem isn't with the duty finder. It is with the distribution of people going into the dungeons.

He's talking about the wait for actual instances in the end-game content, particularly with Ampador Keep. You can have a full party formed, and then load it up via the Duty Finder and still have to wait half an hour for an instance to be reserved for your group.

What about the people who fall in the middle? :(

What is the distinction here? The speed at which people complete content?

This is much more likely to happen then the dream/hope/whatever that "all these people will go away once subscription starts."
Hardcore people are more likely to pay a monthly fee than casuals.

Also in every MMORPG ever the community becomes more elitist as time goes on. Not less. I see the future of this game being quite grim for casual players (like myself) if you don't have a like-minded FC.

RMT shouts had disappeared on Excal... odd.

I think SE brought down the ban hammer. I didn't notice any RMT shouts and received no RMT tells yesterday. I was in instances the majority of the time but there were several periods of time in-between runs of Ampador Keep and when I went AFK for dinner where I was just sitting in a zone, crafting, or gathering. A huge difference from the flood of messages I had been seeing earlier.

I'm sure they are still out there but it looks like the Square's task force might be taking action now. Another FC leader that had seen us around since beta notified me that he was receiving gold spam messages from one of our members yesterday. Apparently, another member that got their account hacked. RIP Metatron.

I play a tank and was in que for AK last night for over 80misn and still did not get it, joined que for ifrit HM and got in within 5min.
