Got around 13200 at 1440p @Maximum with a 6700k/1080 combo.

They should add some new type of AA. Even at 1440p there's tons of shimmering on distant objects and foliage. It's a bit annoying.

Ugh. I desperately want to get back in for Red Mage, but my Old Man Reflexes(tm) got me stuck at the storyline Ravana fight in Heavensward and unable to progress.

What server you on? I'm on Excalibur and can pretty much just walk you through heavensward. Main Character godkratos or darthplagueis wise secondary. One of them is always on doing something.

Well I can run it but do I want to?

Did they ever fix their absolute trash tier servers/netcode? I had completely unacceptable latency from servers within driving distance. None of the tricks I tried worked, it made it impossible to play in any sort of grouped content as skills that triggered off of other skills would take longer than the already slow GCD to activate. Every other game I have played since has had no issue even on servers across the continent. The fact that there were tricks out there and people paying for VPNs to try and get it working indicate it wasn't only me.

I really liked the game and was really into it but dropped it after encountering the above for my last month. I have played F2P games with less wonky latency.

They're relocating data centers for NA mid-May, so if you're on NA servers it'll almost definitely fix things. They've been using a pretty shitty company for them up until this point afaik. EU is getting... something too? I don't really know the details on that but from what I understand it's also being fixed.

EU moved first, its what the money from the cash shop was used for.

They're still doing something to the EU servers. It might be normal maint? I just know NA is getting 48 hours of downtime and EU/JP are getting 24 hours of downtime soon.

Looks awesome. Unfortunately, the game makes my video card driver crash when I run it in DX11 mode. It runs fine at 1080p maxed out but it'll just crash at random.

Thanks for the replies. Interesting to see if it fixes anything. I will give the game another shot after that point to see firsthand.

I got about 15182 with my 6700k and my 1080Ti at 3440x1440 (which is really just rendering 2560x1440 view, but actually choosing 2560x1440 stretched to the screen for some reason).

I turned up some things (turned off LOD for shadows for instance) so it still seems like a good score.

Unfortunately, I never actually finished the storyline of the original release so haven't even touched Heavensward. I doubt I have time to get back into it too. Bleh @ adulting.

If you're using an AMD card (r9 390/280 or something like that) then you'll need to update your drivers.

There was also something about a specific gfx card/cpu combo making it crash as well.

I think it was Nvidia GFX card/AMD processor that caused that.

But if you have an AMD card try updating drivers first.

Overlays can also trigger it, try to get rid of things like Rainmeter, mouse/keyboard services, and other stuff running in the background.

I have an old Square Enix account that had a security token. Since then I've upgraded my phone, laptop, and desktop.... I don't have my emergency password lol. I'm screwed. Maybe it's a sign that I shouldn't jump back into this game.

Just talk to their chat support. I had a similar problem, it's all fine. :)

I had GTX 780 and i5-750 then upgraded only CPU to i7-6700K, no noticeable performance upgrade.
I think this game runs pretty heavy on GPU and CPU usage spikes in crowded scenes.

Just ran the benchmark on a Surface Pro 4 i5

Got it to run surprisingly well (3990), to the point I'm considering downloading and trying the full game, as I really wasn't expecting that.

I'd get back into the game if the client didn't absolutely refuse to download every time I tried. Got an error message every single time.

I dunno why this problem still exists, it's totally fucked. Good news though is that the stuff you download before the error message still gets saved, so if you baby it and relaunch the app every ~20 minutes you'll download it eventually.

I got around it using a VPN (downloaded with no errors, ipvanish is my fav. ipvanish and private internet access are the fastest VPN providers, coupon SAVE20NOW gets you 20% off any ipvanish subscription). I think before that I also tried changing DNS settings and the errors became less frequent but still occurred at least once an hour.

You could've been getting screwed by the level 3 node that was always getting congested for a large amount of users and would cause unplayable latency, which was completely out of the hands of Square-Enix, and is probably something that partially informed their decision to move the servers, people went through the rigamarole of contacting SE, only to be told to contact the ISP, who told the user that it was level 3's fault and the solution would be to use something like mudfish. (pay as you use VPN that would let you take a different route to the servers and since XIV's an MMO it barely uses any data as it's just sending inputs.)

They're still doing something to the EU servers. It might be normal maint? I just know NA is getting 48 hours of downtime and EU/JP are getting 24 hours of downtime soon.
NA's getting 48 hours to move the servers, EU's probably getting 24 to expand/improve because they'll probably make the changes they need to make to prepare for the inventory expansion.

Q&A with Yoshida from the last live letter. said:
Q28: There was an announcement regarding inventory slot expansion, but we would like to know which inventory (inventory/Armoury chest) is being increased and by how much!

A28: We received comments that the Armoury chest and inventory could not be expanded due to PS3 limitations, but the two are separate issues. When players move areas or go into instances, all item data is being moved along with the character, so if we were to add additional item slots without much thought, the amount of data being transferred could become ridiculous, network usage would skyrocket, and servers could go down.

With this in mind, in Patch 4.0 we will implement the first inventory expansion, take a look at the state of the servers, then prepare for additional expansions.

The Armoury chest will receive 10 extra slots for each category of equipment, while the item inventory will be increased by 40 slots.

* During the stream we showed off images of the updated UI.

I am also discussing with our server programmer Kasuga whether we can utilize other methods to efficiently increase inventory space.

What's weird is it shows the stock speed for my CPU, it's actually overclocked to 4.4GHZ. I guess they just have descriptors they pull when they identify the part?

edit: after reading through the thread, really glad I got an SSD finally. Some people have 40+ seconds of loading time, the 850evo is so dandy for games like this that have constant loads.

Enabled very little clocks on my GTX 1070, Avg FPS was 67 before and with +100 to core and +150 to mem I got Avg 70, with score around 10584.

Was just curious to see if I can get it to run stable 60 at launch and I guess it shouldn't be any problem with this score.

13k score (at 1080p + maximum preset) on my new and shiny PC.

For reference I was getting like 5k-6k on past benchmarks on my last PC (1080p + custom preset (a mix of medium and high)

I think I'm ready to go back to the game, I might be able to finish HS content before Stormblood.

Tried it at 1370ghz, now to see if 1360 will be close on the framerate. Fans getting high to keep the card temp below 70. These extra clocks don't seem to matter much.

Edit: Nearly the same score at 1360MHz, yeah, I'll stick to that with quieter fans and less watts.

It looks good for a game that started on PS3 and it holds up well compared to other MMOs, imo.

The only other mmorpg that looks better graphically is Black Desert to me. When you disable the HUD it even goes into a Skyrim DoF picture mode. It looks so good, runs good too. So pretty. It's more of a mmo arpg though (good for me).

It could really use some decent anti-alliasing options though

This seems to be as good a place to ask as any.

Are you required to have beaten the main game (or god forbid the main game + Heavensword) to play this one?

You needed to have completed the main story to get to heavensward stuff so i would think so

They were talking about having an item that jumps you straight to level 60 and lets you start the expansion content immediately, I dunno what came of that though.

Yeah, and if I remember correctly, it doesn't handle supersampling well. I just remember fighting with its scaling problems. It puts 1080p in a 4:3 square or something if I use full screen.

Could be your video card aspect ratio settings. I had this problem for months with my old AMD card before I finally realized it was a AMD control panel option. Here's what it looks like on Nvidia (don't have AMD anymore) http://i.imgur.com/w6Kaj0g.png

I'm sure I tried it before, but clicked it over just now and it works. Thanks, and it looks like this now http://imgur.com/a/rNSlI I remember turning everything on and off in this menu. Heck I should have tried it while it was off, maybe a Black Desert update fixed it recently.

Fake Edit: Ok it works even without it now. They did fix it. I should have tried it before saying that. Wonder how good the supersampling works now. It'll probably murder the framerate though.
