Final Fantasy XV release date reveal on March 30th in 6300 cp theater by Kinda Funny

Would love to get the simple cover art in the States for a change. Sadly, won't happen. Hopefully there will be an alternate or reversible cover in some version of the game. Something like the FF XII collector's edition, like someone posted above, would be nice.

The simple boxarts look classy and hold up over time. I don't know why publishers often have to choose the bloated, trashy covers that we usually get.

EDIT: As an alternative, I wouldn't mind the 'walking' picture with all the characters in the party walking toward the camera. I think that could be a good cover if done properly.

This one:

I would be very disappointed if any of that is used for the cover. It's very ugly IMO

It's gonna sell like crazy. I hope there isn't retailer exclusive content and Square Enix has tons of copies so there isn't shortage.

I know Type-0 isn't FFXV but you can get those for like 50$ now.

But I am just going to order as soon as it is announced that we can order. It will just be $1 then they will charge when it gets ready to ship

It would be really shit if SE did a retailer exclusive CE but I wouldn't be shocked. I plan on getting the CE the minute it's available though. Hopefully announce it at the even and hopefully retailers start taking orders immediately.

I'm ordering it within a heartbeat of its announcement too. I can't help but fear its gonna sell out within a hour.

I don't think they will do a retailer exclusive one honestly. I am either ordering from SE directly or Amazon anyway. Going to have both websites open during the event just in case :lol

I was about to say "What is there to design? It's just the logo on white background.", but then I remembered that the US covers have always been completely different than the
superior
PAL and JP ones. Still, I would have thought that the US covers were still done by SE Japan internally for creativity reasons.

I'm also surprised the US cover would be made in the US and not at home.

He's done artwork for various movie ad campaigns but I believe its his first video game ad campaign. He tells me he usually works with one or two other people on these ads, but for the final fantasy 15 ad campaign its the first time he's worked with what he describes as "a team" so im assuming at least 5-6 people as opposed to the usual 2-4.

at the very least I think its safe to assume theyve invested a lot for ads and the box art.

Sure. They're "tasteful," but that doesn't mean "good" or "interesting."

You're welcome to that opinion.

Whatever floats your boat! :)

FFXV is probably too big for, but they do like to do SE Store exclusives, so I wouldn't rule that out, just to be safe.

I want to see a development timeline of this game at the event. To see the troubles, issues and what happened and why it took so long

FFXV wasn't even in active development for 10 years as many people claim. It was mainly in pre-production. Mostly due to the fact that a lot of the staff at SE was moved around to assist with other projects.

Notably the disaster that was the initial launch that was FFXIV Online, and needing to completely reboot it into A Realm Reborn, then there was the FFXIII projects which were so understaffed they had to even outsource to tri-Ace.

Case in point refer to the bolded names of staff in the link. People that no longer are even working on the project. Due to the overall staffing changes, we do know that FFXV didn't have major active development until 2012, so in reality it's current progress is 3 years worth of actual active development, the other 7 years prior the game known as FF Versus XIII at the time was mainly just concept planning stages and more or less on the backburner while Square scrambled to get other projects done.

I think the biggest hurdle of development was trying to get the proprietary engine that FFXV works on done first before real work started.
