Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave announced for 2026

Looks cool.
Way better art direction than Engage. Hopefully it follow the traditional formula though, and not the three houses one.

Interesting to see a fantasy game seemingly inspired in the Classical era. I just hope they don't squander it with a story-light game like Emblem and instead make a more meaty offering.

It actually looks pretty good and I'll probably buy it.

The game looks ok, after watching I'm not interelly sure about the art direction. But its FE so its cool I guess.
I'm not seeing anything wrong with art direction, artist behind Three Houses doing character design but this time around with MUCH better character animation and expression.

I'm not feeling though. Seems abit less refined and looking more abit closer to west designs in terms of face. I dig the theme though.

I'm not seeing that its more grounded and its response to people complained a lot about FE Engage being too "anime" and colorful.

I Still haven't got my FE4 remake but this one seems promising. It's obvious it's in the same universe as three houses but it's also back in an ancient Greece-like setup, the very roots of the series. I was first afraid of the engage character design but the setting looks more grim dark (edgy if you want but that's what I like) and far from that over the top engage.

Also bonus points for Alucard here.

The whole direct wasn't incredible but this and Samus on a bike will make me buy the switch 2 soon.

I am very hopeful here! The setting and characters already look miles better than Fire Emblem Engage which was fucking awful and I had no desire to finish. I hope the entire game doesn't take place in the colosseum though. Looking forward to see some more with this one.

Pretty good, I hope it doesn't have the repetitive and boring Monastery sections like 3H.

Fire Emblem should go back to the classic structure without the fluff. It would be so much better.

I'm not sure they'll ever do that... They wanted to have this in-between battle stuff since FE4 on SNES. The castle in Fates, the monastery in Three Houses and the floating island in Engage is just an evolution of what they always wanted to do I guess.

Hope the gladiatorial stuff don't make it too samey in the combat scenarios (not jus gameplay wise where I guess they can introduce all kinds of new shit in the arena with contraptions, rules and setups, but in visual flair and variety too).

At least it's a step up from engage.

True. But the in between "bonding" stuff was always more of a fun secondary side thing. My problem with Three Houses is that it became way too big of a focus, taking up a significant portion of the playtime.

The floating island part in Engage was pretty inoffensive though, a lot of it could be ignored or at least fast forwarded/skipped. Though I still think Awakening had the best implementation of these ideas.

Three Houses was alright, but the social stuff was really dragging the game pacing down. Encore I didn't play because it was a bit too Anime for me. Let's see how this will go. I really do hope that they scale back the third-person hub stuff. If I want to play Persona, I play Persona.

So far based on what I'm seeing Shadows of Valentia is probably the last Classic FE game. Fortune's Weave just looks like a 3 Houses-2 likely with another 3 Routes. If they have another Academy or Calendar like system it will be a skip.

Not very excited for it.

Looks awesome, I really like the style for this one. I loved Three Houses, so I hope they'll follw the structure of this one, maybe with Gladiators school or who know.

Unlike Three houses this FE doesn't takes place in school, it's much more ancient rome like setting and some of characters will participate in colosseum battles.

FE Engage's story and characters weren't great but to me the gameplay and map design was fantastic.

If they remove the social baloney the game will be that much better. Though the focus on Fire Emblem meets Mortal Kombat is a interesting choice of setting.

I guess the FE4 Remake rumor is well and truly dead now. Not that I'm complaining, because this looks good.

My initial guess is that the colosseum is only limited/tutorial-like chapters before the evil badguy tries to conquer the continent and our rag-tag group of quirky friends escapes and meets more rag tag quirk friends and end up conquering the continent instead. But I admit to being uncertain here. It appears as if this city itself might be the hub world this time around. And they kept emphasizing the colosseum later in the trailer. So maybe the plot will be different this time around? And yet, Queen Not-Edelgard is a fighting character, which seems to suggest a full continent at war again, so who knows.

I'm not that big of a fan of 3 Houses, but I'm not opposed to another game on its world. And given what a success that game was, I'm not too surprised by the move. I can't tell if this is supposed to be the past or future though. In any case, my complaints on 3 Houses are mostly 1) battles weren't that impressive, especially compared to Engage, 2) for all the internet drama about how 3H story and characters were sooo wonderful, they still seemed pretty 2D to me, 3) the school system was boring as heck.

Already complaint #1 looks like it may be going away. We're seeing things that aren't standard with the snippets shown. I don't think I've ever seen chariots in an FE game before. Alucard being able to warp suggests some unique OP moves similar to Engage. Dancers can summon/transform now, changing their class usage significantly. So the obvious hope after the two Switch titles - a game with Engage's improved gameplay but with a more serious plot - is still in play.

#3 is always a concern, but at least it definitely isn't a school. As long as the hub world aspect is a bit toned down, I think I'm fine with it. I survived Engage, after all. So we'll see. And #2 won't be known until the game is in my hand, but honestly I don't expect much here anyway. It's mostly my annoyances at hearing constantly from the internet. The character designs seem ok to me (although seeing glasses on someone was surprising and not ideal). And they are certainly hyping it as dramatic. So we'll see.

No date given, right? Hopefully Spring.

Excited to watch this later.

Engage >>> 3H though. Art design in 3H was crap, main characters look like bland NPCs, I'll take Engage any day, and gameplay was better too.

I think they already moving away from that after Three Houses, Engage barely had one and mostly can be ignored.

I agree on Engage having much better gameplay and map design and even much better battle animation from Three Houses but I don't I agree on character designs.

I keep hearing this... maybe I need to give it more of a try...
From purely gameplay and map design perspective, in my opinion it's one of better Fire Emblem games.

Engage was great if you don't care much about the story and you don't mind the ugly art direction.
The actual gameplay was really fun, with solid maps and fun new mechanics. It felt way more like a classic FE experience than Three Houses.

By the end even Colgate chan grew a bit on me

Male main character looks better imo, but at the end of the day I played Engage then 3H, and would rate Engage a 9 or 10 / 10, and 3H a 7 / 10.

I will say once again that despite having ignored Engage altogether it has the best gameplay to date out of the entire series. If they bring Engage gameplay fundamentals and trim the fat on the Social aspects then Fortune Weave has potential but right now I just see the core principals 3 Houses was built on.

If the pacing is good then it'll be a decent Fire Emblem.

S Skeptical I don't think they will remake FE4 without changing certain things in the story given the amount of implied incest within the game. It's a very dark game. Plus we have to consider how grim it can be with Part 1 and Part 2 of FE4.
