I remember hearing about Pee Wee getting caught up in a masturbation scandal and thinking it was tremendously funny more than shocking or anything else. Otherwise I didn't give a shit.

Not a real problem. I believe he bought lots of vintage pornography and there was "artsy" porn that cops/prosecutors tried to make out to be more than it was. My father, an accomplished fine art photographer, once bought a collection of nude photos that Lewis Carroll took of children (specifically because, holy shit, Lewis Carroll took nude pictures of kids?!). As pornography it's as boring as Victorian porn could get, yet I suppose it's technically CP. So is a copy of a Traci Lords porn movie, or the cover of Blind Faith's album.

My daughter and I watch Pee Wee's Playhouse everyday. It's easily her favorite show, so I'm very hopeful she'll enjoy this movie. Can't wait!

Is this the new means of measuring time? Pre Buffy and After Buffy. PB and AB? In that case, is it the year 19AB or the year 24AB? I've never seen the movie, and didn't know if people are counting that as the dawn of Buffy, or if it goes from the start of the show.

If the bulk of his collection was "vintage erotica" in general, and a few pics happened to be of teens. That paints a completely different picture in my mind compared to if the bulk of his collection was "vintage teen erotica". Since the DA looked at his PC and found no grounds for felony charges, I'm hoping he was just a collector of "vintage erotica" in general and wasn't into the kid or teen stuff. Basically I'd have to know more about his complete collection to properly judge how I feel.

As for the Rob Lowe sex tape. That'd be bizarre if it brought down Paul Reubens, but not Rob Lowe himself for fucking a teenager.

Absolutely love Pee Wee's Big Adventure. Here's hoping this is close to that but I'm not holding my breath.

My kids also enjoy Pee Wee as we all call my wife Conkey. I can't remember how that started but it still brings a smile to my face when my 5 year old says that mommy is Conkey.

It's a stupid law and a waste of police resources to enforce. Public indecency statutes should be applied if someone is lewd and lascivious in a open setting where that activity is unexpected. In a pornographic theater, no such expectation would exist. The theater management expects such behavior to occur; in fact, if it were actively discouraged, they would have lost business. Literally a victimless crime.

Pee-Wee was never much of a thing here in the UK but my son's random button pressing on a remote control ended up putting an episode of Playhouse on via Netflix when he was less than a year old. He's approaching two now and he absolutely loves all the old episodes. Aside from Pee-Wee's Japanese pen pal Oki Doki (seriously) it's aged really well.

He probably isn't wearing any more makeup now than he was back then (28 years ago?), since in his close ups you can see he was absolutely caked in the stuff back in the day.

His show wasn't cancelled so much as it was ended mutually by Rubens and CBS. And the deal was done before the scandal took place. It just happened to be at the same time the show aired its last episode. As a kid I asked my dad why he was arrested and he told me "for having his fly down in public" to scare me into making sure I always zipped up. I guess technically he was right.

It was all silly anyway.

As a collector, like most eccentric collectors who have a lot of money, he bought stuff in bulk and probably never actually looked through it. Plus, the pre-80s were a completely different time. And a lot of it might not even have been marked with the ages of the people in the photos. It wasn't illegal to show nude minors in film at that point. That law was passed relatively recently. What do you mean PC? This was all physical media. This was 1991. You didn't have an internet with JPGs of porn on a hard drive. You had books with pages and photographs and film strips. He was a collector in the same way many of us are. He just collected something a bit more questionable.


Anyway, welcome back Pee-Wee. Rubens never ages.

That's definitely not cool, but I can see him having that imagery just because he bought porn en masse, not because he's a pedophile. It's definitely pervy, and the case could be made that Reubens is a pedophile in a court of law. However, without further evidence, I think he's just a creep. Which is a surprise to no one. IMO, the biggest thing here is that Rob Lowe has a sex tape.

Anyway, I loved the old movies, so I'm still in for this.

He can't do the voice as well anymore, but that's to be expected...

As for his "scandal" it's nothing, even the vintage porn stuff wasn't even the bulk of the collection just mixed in with other vintage art, it's literally itsfuckingnothing.gif

Not feeling the OG charm, but we shall see.

Wait, explain to me how you can be found in possession of child porn and not be a pedophile. If that's your 'defense' for the case, then does that mean Jared Fogle isn't a pedophile, he's just your everyday pervert who just happened to have thousands of images and videos of children on his computer?
