First gameplay footage of Angry Birds Star Wars (out Nov 8)

Best Star Wars game in years, I bet it makes more money than The Old Republic.

Hope they still have "Space" style levels with the gravity mechanics.

Looks good, these are such fun simple games that are great for mobile.

Oh Star Wars, what happened to you man?

You used to be cool

Yea, Star Wars selling out totally is something new and hasn't been happening since the late 70's and early 80's......

I can't fucking stand that cantina song anymore, sorry John Williams. The new special birds look pretty fun though, will definitely pick this one up.

I'm in. Playing Bad Piggies put me in the mood to redownload and play Angry Birds (& Seasons & Space). I was amazed how much free content they'd added to all of 'em. Enough to make some console devs shit blood.

Simple, fun games that are great on the go. Job done.

The Angry Birds should retire so they can come back with new gameplay ideas instead of the same old shit. I like the characters, I even have a red plush bird, but the gameplay is stale beyond belief.

Also Angry Birds Space sucked.

I actually liked Angry Birds Space the most since the original, in my opinion it atleast brought some variety to the gameplay.

So you want the gameplay changing up but when they changed it up (Space), you thought it sucked?

Perhaps it's just not the franchise for you. Have you tried Bad Piggies? It's totally different and, IMO, much better.

I wouldn't expect the Angry Birds franchise to radically change any more than I'd expect massive change from CoD, FIFA or Gran Turismo. They are what they are.

Space sucked because they added even more trial and error to a mechanic that's already chocked full of trial and error.

Haven't played Bad Piggies, but I gotta give Rovio credit since they created an entirely different game that appears to be quality. I think they could do the same with the Birds. You have played one level of Angry Birds, you have experienced everything there is to see.

Looks like it might be a bit of a laugh, although I've never been a huge Angry Birds fan (Siege Hero for life). I appreciated the fact that it looks like they have worked a bit on making all the character abilities and structure mechanics all Star Wars-y. That will help it stand out for sure.

I don't really find the trial and error aspect too irritating myself but I can definitely see how it could be frustrating. Space is the one that I've played the least, for what it's worth.

"In Halo 1, there was maybe 30 seconds of fun that happened over and over and over and over again. And so, if you can get 30 seconds of fun, you can pretty much stretch that out to be an entire game."

Wow, that actually looks pretty fun. I have to give props to the Angry Birds team for at least adding new features to every edition that make it unique (unlike some of the AAA games that get milked every year).

Well at least the birds' powers get a little star wars shake up. I honestly thought it was just going to be the same powers with a star wars setting.

The thing is that, those 30 seconds in Halo are, quite possibly, way more engaging than slingshotting birds that smash into crates, and I'd rather do that for extended periods of time.

Looks cute as fuck, and fun. That's really all that's necessary. Both franchises are whored out beyond belief, anyways. It's not like this is combining two franchises that are highly respected and have only had a handful of releases.

Like say...... Panzer Dragoon Saga meets Shadow of the Colossus or something. Panzer Colossus.
