Well, Kong wanted to give Godzilla a piece of his mind by teaching him to eat his vegetables on a daily basis. But Godzilla, feisty as he was, wouldn't listen to Kong's friendly dietary advice.
So, their beef started along those lines.

Kong is just a Vegan Nazi. Japanese government set them up for that fight. Always big government.

Godzilla likes Fish

I hope we get the trailer soon. The movie is supposed to be released in few months and we don't have a trailer.

This might be one of those movies where it'll come out first, and then you'll get the trailers.
It's like you put the cart before the horse (usually the proverb says "don't put the cart before the horse")

Released in theatres? Sounds daft to me, France is in a crazy lockdown with curfew between 6pm and 6am.

Honestly don't see mainland Europe recover from the British variant within two months, let alone have theatres open again.

They're gonna team up against mecha Ghidorah, aren't they? There's no way Kong is anywhere near King Ghidorah in terms of threat to Godzilla.

Whoever wins, I do hope that Kong will try to shove a tree in Godzilla's throat. Godzilla gotta learn to eat his vegetables.
Because poor Kong, having been in captivity, the only thing they fed him was vegetables. So he's gotta give Godzilla a piece of his mind.

I saw some rumors that
Mechagodzilla would be in the movie but it might not be true.

These folks cite the following kaijus for Godzilla Vs Kong

  • Godzilla
  • King Kong
  • Mechagodzilla
  • Skullcrawler
  • Warbat

For the Mechagodzilla appearance they cite the following source from magazine Total Film - > "2021 Preview: 47 Must-See Movies. Total Film. January 2021. 56. Digital"

The toys also revealed stuff

Warbat and Skullcrawler seem to be confirmed.

why do they hate each other?

at the end of Godzilla KOTM, once Godzilla defeats King Ghidorah, Dr. Rick Stanton (Bradley Whitford) says "Good thing he's on our side" and Dr. Ilene Chen (Zhang Ziyi) replies "For now.".
This implies that something changes after that and "Godzilla isn't on our side any more". Therefore they presumably awaken/summon Kong to face Godzilla.
The above is my theory as to why these two are at odds with each other.

I've got a soft spot for kaiju movies, ever since I first saw Cloverfield in theaters. Afterwards I watched a couple old Godzilla movies, Pacific Rim, and the Godzilla/Kong "Monsterverse". They're all pretty good in my opinion and it looks like Godzilla vs. Kong is going to be another great movie for the genre. I can't wait to see the full trailer this Sunday.

As a Kaiju fan since the very first Gojira (1954) Pacific Rim was such a dream come true for me. I love that movie so much. Been watching the Japanese monster mash movies since I was a little boy, they really captured my imagination.

Yeah, I loved Pacific Rim. It was really fun to watch. To me it was like the Independence Day of kaiju movies. The older Godzilla and Mothra movies were pretty interesting too and I think I know what you mean about them capturing your imagination because of the way the scenes are edited together, it's almost surreal but unique and charming.

Cloverfield was great, in my opinion, even though they didn't show much of Clover, I enjoyed the recorded footage angle. And the few scenes where we got to see him looked so real at the time. But I loved the idea of "America's own monster" that originated deep within our oceans that Abrams said was actually still a baby suffering from separation anxiety when it attacked Manhattan. I'm just disappointed we never got a true sequel. I think an older, adult Clover would have been really cool to see but Matt Reeves and Drew Goddard were busy on other projects.

What is everyone's favorite King Kong movie here? The original is the best in my opinion. I like all of them expect King Kong Lives and Kong: Skull Island. I bought the 2005 remake on Apple TV few days ago because I haven't seen it in 4K yet.
