Taking place between the events of Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians, Halo: Nightfall follows the origin story of legendary manhunter Jameson Locke (Mike Colter) and his team as they are caught in a horrific terrorist attack while investigating terrorist activity on the distant colony world of Sedra. Led by Locke, the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) agents are forced to coordinate with a Sedran commander with a remarkable history and deep-rooted mistrust of ONI. As the plot unravels, they’re drawn to an ancient, hellish artifact where they’re forced to fight for their survival, question everything, and ultimately choose between their loyalties and their lives. Agent Locke is a new character in the Halo universe poised to play a major role in Halo 5: Guardians releasing on Xbox One in 2015.

edit: Cast via Cornballer

One of the surviving digital video projects for Microsoft’s Xbox, the live-action Halo: Nightfall series, has set the rest of its cast. Joining previously announced Mike Colter (The Good Wife) as Jameson Locke are Christina Chong (24: Live Another Day) as Talitha Macer; Steve Waddington (The Last Of The Mohicans) as Randall Aiken; and Luke Neal (Wilderness) as Michael Bradley Horrigan.

Also cast are Alexander Bhat (film debut) as Alistair Bov Estrin; Christian Contreras (Zero Dark Thirty) as Gregory Aio Ramos; Jennie Gruner (The Other Side Of The Street) as Samantha Wisner; Alexis Rodney (Kick-Ass 2) as Arris Le; Eric Kofi Abrefa (Tight Jeans) as Haisal Wari; Shaun Blaney (Made In Belfast) as Mason Hundley and Sarah Armstrong (Drunk In Love) as Jordan Gaines.

Although Microsoft announced it is shuttering Xbox Entertainment Studios, the Ridley Scott-produced Halo: Nightfall is one of a few projects that will be completed. The five-part miniseries is written by Prison Break creator Paul Scheuring and tells the origin story of new character Agent Locke (Colter).

Looks pretty decent. Nothing amazing, but I did enjoy Forward Unto Dawn and I I.agine this should be better. A bit too dark though

They certainly seem to have upped the budget considerably from FuD.

Not overly impressed with that first look though. I'm sure that will change as we see more from the show, at least I hope it will.

Looks awesome! The "element that kills only humans" thing is definitely interesting. Wonder who's behind it.

I've never been a big fan of the Halo assault rifle, and it looks even more stupid when put in the hands of real life humans. People say it's iconic, but I've been a Halo fan for 12+ years and I think it's way overdue for a redesign.

That looks pretty dang good. Production looks significantly better than Forward Unto Dawn and I loved what they did with that. Man just when I think I am getting over Halo that music plays and sets its hooks into me again.

I'm a little worried. A lot of FuD appeal came from its low fi look thanks to the modest budget. This looks like it's going in the opposite direction and could end up being more sterile and lifeless as a result.

Yeah thats a valid concern. Hopefully they put that budget to good use.

I felt it's design in Reach did a good job of making it look more grounded and militaristic (which fit the tone of the game) and would probably translate better in real life than classic BR does.

It's like Halo meets tumblr.
Most of the time I see people complain about tumblr it's because they perceive it as a site for hipsters and / or people with intersectional anti-oppression politics. So... I really have no idea what you might be getting at here, lol.

I've never been a fan of Halo, so I am coming from a point where I know literally nothing about the series, but even so, this doesn't really look like Halo to me, at least from what I've seen from the series since its inception. It just seems like any run of the mill sci-fi series, albeit with a high production value.

Hmm, I wonder if the "element that targets only humans" could be some sort of Flood byproduct?

Still weird to me that they get a lot of successful live action Halo productions off the ground but never made it to a movie.

Halo is a fucking monster. It forced me to buy an Xbox One and it is forcing me to get hyped for this.

I love you, Halo <3

Really curious how this turns out.

Watched FuD yesterday morning and actually really liked it. Movie went downwards for me when Master Chief came somehow. Could be because of the voice difference, or I just didn't like how he was portrayed. He felt more like a robocop/robot version.

Plays Destiny.
Watches Star Wars.

The fuck happened.

You had one job Halo. Be my all around SF fix. The fuck...

Agent Locke? Choices between loyalties and life?

Le sigh...

The cadets were easily the part of FuD. I liked Chief appearing, but it took away from the cadets and removed a lot of tension from their trying to get away from the convenant.
