First Pics from the Microsoft Both (Games Convention 05)

Yea i've seen the movie before, but i forgot about that scene. I hope they dont show the same one...that would be lame.

It's pretty obvious that it will be playable on those screens. You can even see controllers on the floor next to one of the tv's. It's pretty cool cause they'll actually get to sit down.

Not sure those might be xbox controllers though. but i'm sure they can easily swap them for 360 controllers especially since they are wireless.

Seriously though, it looks cosy in a rather unique way for tradeshow "booths". Quite different from the typical "flashy corporate graphical elements extruded into fancy 3D plastic" that usually is the most exotic things you'll find in terms of furniture and demo pods. The viewing angle for those displays looks kinda off though.

Obvious? From the shots posted its all Xbox games and HUD shots.

Globes floating on water is not the Answer Microsoft, giant waterfalls are.

I like the Xbox's setup better, far more interesting looking and such, but Sony's booth wouldn't have people with sore butts after an hour of playtime.
 
I prefer Sony's slick Space Channel V-looking display to MS's cheap-ass fake plant and astroturf one. It looks like Sony spent about a hundred times as much money.

Once again Sony seems to be the more classier of the two.
 
Wow that is one of the coolest and most creative booths I've ever seen.

Very nice recreation of outdoors. I wouldn't mind playing my games like that sitting on a lounge chair in the pseudo outdoors. :D

It looks plastic to me - like a supposed "outdoor" setting from one of those 60ies musicals shot entirely in a studio, except not quite as colorfull.
That said, I like those screens, wonder what it would take to unscrew one :D
 
Wow, very nice. I actually like both of them.
But what is this, a game convention or a fashion show?
E3 is like one big Game Informer ad and this is like some crazy GAP commercial only instead of fit dancers there will be greasy geeks. :D

Hmm. If I were creating a convention center to show off my console, I'd make the surroundings as ugly as possible. Pixelated floors and jaggies on the wall, with some plasma HDTV's for the Xbox 360 stuff. Kinda the "enhance beautiful by surrounding it with ugly" method.

That's brilliant. They should have an entire section dedicated to wallguy. This would be the area you would have to walk through before reaching the actual booth.
 
I'm probably in the minority here when I say that their booth looks retarded.

The Xbox 360 is supposed to be sleek and modern, not inspire Disneyland and marshmallows.

That's Nintendo's job
to screw up
