First PSP web browser hacked within Wipeout Pure's download section

BTW, I have no idea how you could make web browsing readable on the DS. The resolution is just too low. And the PSP's screen has more pixels in total than the two DS screens put together. :/

The resolution would be a pain in the ass, but it could certainly be fine for WAP 2.

Hell, I think if you implimented it right you could view normal HTML on it alright. Render the page as a sprite and scale it using an interface on the touch screen.

Code:

When a page loads in the preview area you output the 100% view of the page. That view is mirrored on the top screen. By drawing a box on the bottom screen or using the zoom and scroll buttons supplied, you zoom in on the page. Hyperlinks within the preview area are clickable.

It'd be cool if Nintendo had their own variation on the HTML standard and you could code your own pages especially designed for Nintendo DS.

This seems quite likely, given that the DS will probably buckle under the weight of most HTML pages.

Wow, the delusion among the Nintendo faithful increases with each passing day. You think Nintendo is going to support DS for 3, 4 years? Hah. As soon as PSP outsells DS by a 2-1 (or more) margin around holiday 05, Nintendo will bring out the next GameBoy and take a coathanger to DS.

Yeah a DS browser would be great. They could call it Mario Net. I hear it will be great. I just hope it doesn't get delayed.

The great thing about standards is that there are so many to choose from!

Heh, I'm sure there would never be a DS-specific "html", however I don't think there needs to be. Something like Firefox for cellphones, but tailored for DS or PSP would work fine imo. I'm not sure how well it works with heavy duty webpages, but both handhelds have more power available than most mobile phones (and I believe firefox rearranges pages for optimal rendering anyway).
