Using eyewear to focus his senses was still Spider-Man's idea. Like the suit itself, he lacked the means to implement it.

The man is a menace!
According to CinemaScoop, around the film's mid-point, Tony introduces Peter to...Mary-Jane Watson! Yes, that's right....Spidey's most prominent love-interest will indeed be making a surprise appearance in the film! And that's not all! Watson is not only revealed to be working for Stark as a junior intern...but who also turns out happens to be Pepper Potts younger sister. "Guess the red hair is hereditary" Tony quips.
In preparation for a battle with Vulture, Tony decides it's time Peter upgrades his technological Spiderman suit. As a last-minute gift, he presents Peter with one of his Iron-Man suits. "You're Spiderman no more...." Tony declares triumphantly, patting Peter on the back. "Say hello to The Amazing Iron-Boy!".
At one point in the film, Tony advises Peter that he should take up a part-time job to help fund his crime-fighting career as Spiderman. As Stark sets Peter up with a job interview with the local paper, Peter arrives at the offices of The Daily Bugle...only to discover that Stark is, in fact, Bugle editor, J Jonah Jameson! "But...this doesn't make any sense!" Peter stammers. "Just go with it, Parker!" Stark yells, chomping on an over-sized cigar. "Now get me pictures! Pictures of Iron-Boy!"
Towards the end of the film, after having just defeated The Vulture, Peter makes it back to the Homecoming dance just in time....only to discover that all his class-mates have now inexplicably transformed into Tony Stark. "Did someone spike the punch?" Peter yelps, now visibly sweating. "It's okay, Peter" the sea of Tony Starks reply in unison. "The Homecoming Dance has been cancelled. Welcome to the 2017 Stark Expo...."
During a post-credits tease, a goateed robber (not Tony Stark) is depicted to have stolen a leopard-skinned Iron Man outfit from Stark Industries. The robber (now revealed to be Sergei Kravinoff) declares his intention to hunt down and destroy Iron- Boy as "Kraven, The Iron Hunter!"

I think I've seen Spider-Man 2 once since theaters, but I thought it was kind of milquetoast at the time.
The only real thing I dislike about Stark designing Spider-Man's suit is that they didn't show him snatching some designs from Peter, or something like that.
Spider-Man not caring how shoddy his suit is makes sense for him as a character, I think - he's a kid with a low budget who just wanted to make something functional so that he could get out there and start helping people. But I'd have liked it if he had sketches of some 'ideal designs' that were the basis of the Civil War suit; i.e. "What are these?", "They're some sketches I made for the suit ... but the materials are too expensive", "I'll see what I can do".
But instead it seems like Tony Stark designed the suit, which is weird. I mean, even the colour scheme of the Iron Man suit was done by JARVIS, based on Stark's colour suggestion. I believe that Tony Stark would have the means to manufacture the suit, but I believe that he'd have the talent to design it (web-patterns and all) far less than I'd believe Peter, an enthusiastic teenager, could.
It's a fine movie. Not a great Spidey film, but a fine movie.
I resent that Tony seems to be responsible for a good chunk of Peter's gadgets, but I won't mind so long as the movie ends with Peter realizing he's more than capable of running shit himself. Something similar to his renouncing of the Iron Spider suit in the Civil War comic.
I said this at the time of Civil War's release, but for me it would have made so much difference if, having already established Peter's engineering talent, the Tony/Peter scene ended with Tony inviting Peter to Avengers Tower to redesign his old suit just before their trip to Germany. They wouldn't have needed to add any additional scenes, they just had to tweak a couple of lines so that Tony's offering Peter a chance to upgrade his own suit, as opposed to offering to create an entirely new suit for him in the space of a few hours.
The only real thing I dislike about Stark designing Spider-Man's suit is that they didn't show him snatching some designs from Peter, or something like that. I'm fine with Peter's expertise being constrained to the chemical and mechanical design required to create the web-shooters.

Does Dominic Toretto become the new Spider-Man?I've seen the movie and it's really weird how it turns out Tony Stark's middle name is Bennothy and then he dies saving Aunt May from an illegal street race
Can anyone who has seen the film confirm that. ?
Does Dominic Toretto become the new Spider-Man?
:/
If you've seen it then I guess I just wanna ask ahead of time:
I LOVE Spider-Man. Have since I was a kid- used to play all the games, watched the shows, read comics etc. But man I really just don't give a fuck about the other superheroes. Any crossover comics I usually skipped. I thought the way the Avengers treated him like some troublesome fanboy in the Ultimate comics was really gross. In Miles' debut comic they spent half the issue giving Thor screentime and I had no clue wtf was going on and who those characters were and didn't really wanna learn either because what I paid for was Spider-Man. Every time a decent Marvel movie comes out some friends tell me this is finally gonna be the one that blows people away and every time I walk out thinking it was just another Marvel movie. Witty quips, boring cinematography, flat color grading, nobody behaves or talks like a real human with real human problems. Nothing is grounded and I was apprehensive about Spidey going to Marvel because that's literally the whole point. Peter Parker (or Miles Morales) is just as important as Spider-Man, and his day to day issues in life and how being Spider-Man conflicts with who he wants to be and how he wants to treat people, and the burden that this responsibility puts on him, is even more important to the story than whatever villain of the week he needs to take down. The Raimi movies have flaws, but for the most part they get this and handle it well. The best Spider-Man media imo though is the Spectacular cartoon for finding the absolute perfect balance.
Rambling. So with ALL of that being said is this worth watching as a really passionate Spidey fan or is this just another Marvel movie?
I try not to hold the gross mischaracterization of Doc Ock, arguably Spider-Man's greatest foe against the adaptation but his arms controlling him? That's terrible and takes all agency away from a great character who is a fantastic mirror of Peter and his great power mantra
Basically, it's a real good film but it's hardly an untouchable standard of Spider-Man storytelling, imo
Can anyone who has seen the film confirm thst Joe Pesci is Uncle Ben?
Does Dominic Toretto become the new Spider-Man?
This guy fucks.
oh shit, this is a spoiler with no tags thread?
huh?
Wow. Posting untagged spoiler photos of Vulture's henchmen.
I haven't seen the movie yet. Going Wednesday. I have no idea how you could possibly watch any Homecoming trailer and think this movie isn't prioritizing balance between Peter Parker, teenager, and Spider-Man, superhero though. Complain about what you want where the MCU is concerned, they get the characters largely correct, and that's why they're king.
This guy fucks.
Still can't believe they managed to make the Vulture look cool.
Still can't get over how good this suit looks. It's so Romita Sr. that I feel all giddy.

The coat is magnificent.I could take or leave the helmet, although I don't really mind it. I'm just more of a fan of being able to see actor's emoting during action scenes.
Dat coat, though...
The coat is magnificent.
I really like the helmet. It's kinda scary and I think it'll be pretty effective on the audience during the first encounter between him and Spidey.
OH, you were talking about Spider-Man 2.
Nah. Spider-Man 2 is a great Spider-Man movie. If anything I expect this one to be a decent popcorn Marvel superhero flick and completely miss the point on what Spider-Man is about judging from these impressions. Dude has fun being Spidey but in the best comics, cartoons, and movie (SM2 let's be real) his feelings about having his normal life essentially fall apart because of his responsibility as Spider-Man is one of the central themes of the story.
Yeah ASM2 suit is still by far my favorite. If it had the movable eyes it would be perfect.I think the ASM2 suit is still the best in everything but the eyes. Which mind you were fantastic at the time but the lens idea is a really really cool way to have him emote - glad to see it become a staple with this and the PS4 game.
This guy does not fuck.
(Teenage Parker, especially just starting out as Spidey, enjoys his powers AND struggles with the balance between the two. That balance gets more difficult to keep up the older and more experienced he gets. See Spectacular Spider-Man, the best non-comic iteration of Spidey to date. Holland's 30 minute stint in Civil War was enough to dead any other live action take that preceded him.)
I still want Keaton to become Jameson. Maybe he can have a twin brother in this universe? 🤔
I liked it back when it released because I thought we wouldn't get any better but then the MCU one was revealed. Made me realise how ugly raised webbing is.I think the ASM2 suit is still the best in everything but the eyes. Bruce Campbell for JJJ.I still want Keaton to become Jameson. Maybe he can have a twin brother in this universe? 🤔

I literally talked about how good Spectacular was in my response to you earlier, lmao.
If this is as good as Spectacular I'll be very pleasantly surprised, but no Marvel movie has come even remotely close so we'll see I guess.
I'd be fine with this new series not feeling the need to introduce The Daily Bugle team until after Peter graduates from high school. Leaves us a major part of the Spidey mythos to look forward to exploring for when Peter eventually becomes an adult who'll actively need a job to start paying rent.
I have no idea who they could get who could rival JJ at this point in time, anyway. Bringing back Simmons would feel a bit weird, and the fan favourites like Ice Cube and Bruce Campbell don't really do it for me either.
Still can't believe they managed to make the Vulture look cool.
Watching that Audi commercial got me thinking how great JB Smoove would be as JJJ. I think he can pull it off.
I'm need catch the fade with everyone trying shit on Spider-Man 2.
Get J.K back or cast Terry Crews.
