First Tekken 5 TRCs Revealed - 3 of them get released simultaneously!

I recall reading someone say that Heihachi will in Tekken 5, has this been confirmed?

Anyway, I cannot wait till this gets released for the PS2. :D

Lei is the greatest 3d fighter ever.

Sure he might not be over powered(teh cheap) like the machimas or paul but he is hte most fun to play.
 
Paul isn't overpowered.

Kuma actually looks like a bear this time. I will miss his goofy clothes and Panda's purse. Too bad he'll probably suck. All the early reports I've seen have been negative.
 
I actually made a new topic about this yesterday but it was ignored. I was hesitant about updating this thread b/c I thought people would ignore it b/c its old. Guess I should have done that.

I'm sure that you will be able to put clothes on him via the data cards.

And their toning down of Bruce (even if just by a little bit) is probably one of the best things that could have ever happened to the game.

I sort of agree. Heck, I actually like the T4 Kuma better than this one, not just b/c of the clothes, but because the model looked better IMO. And to all those folks who would argue that the T4 model was too small I'll simply say...yes, bears are bigger in real life, but c'mon folks you are playing as a bear that knows martial arts. Reality went out the window a long time ago. I think they could have pulled off fur shading (or at least immitated it somehow) if they went with the T4 model because it was smaller and probably used fewer polys.
 
Kurichan, a Tekken Zaibatsu (www.tekkenzaibatsu.com) regular, was kind enough to translate the back stories for Bruce, Wang, Panda, and Kuma. Here they are:

Bruce
Bruce Irvin was very successful working in Kazuya Mishima’s secret unit.

Since Kazuya Mishima lost to Heihachi Mishima 21 years ago, Bruce left the unit.

After that, he joined several special units in various countries. Now he works as a survival technical guidance instructor.

Bruce knew of Kazuya’s participation in the King of Iron Fist Tournament 4—he had believed he was dead. He also knew of the Zaibatsu’s wishes for the King of Iron Fist Tournament, even though they had just lost Heihachi Mishima.

Bruce felt something big was going to happen at this tournament. Despite the fact that he knew it was best he didn’t get involved, his curiosity got the better of him.

“I was incredibly bored. I’ll offer my services to the Mishima Zaibatsu.”

Wang Jinrei
The not yet weakened leader of Chinese merchants, Wang Jinrei.

When he was young, he had a very good foreign friend named Jinpachi Mishima.

When signs of war was immanent Jinpachi told his friend, “For the sake of peace, I will have to destroy the Mishima family,” and then he left.

Later, Wang heard of Jinpachi’s death, and wars happened.

More than 30 years later, the retired Wang was living life when an invitation to the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5 came to him. Inside was a message that read, “I need your help Jinrei, Come!” The sender’s name was Jinpachi Mishima.

“Unbelievable, he’s alive?”

The letter was from a friend whom was supposed to be dead. Wang decided that he would enter the tournament to check the authenticity of the letter’s sender.

Kuma
Heihachi Mishima’s faithful pet, Kuma.

Finally, Kuma defeated Paul in the King of Iron Fist Tournament 4. But his happiness was short lived. Heihachi was now dead. For a while, Kuma was very sad, but when he learned of the Mishima Zaibatsu’s disorder, he felt it was his duty to restore order for Heihachi’s sake.

“Roar!” (I’ll save the company!)

When he arrived at the Mishima Zaibatsu headquarters, the problems had already subsided.

“Roar, roar…?”

The guardsmen turned Kuma away, so he had to return to the mountains.

Soon after, he learned of the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5’s announcement. He has decided to enter the tournament to take the company back!

Panda
Ling Xiaoyu’s pet and bodyguard, Panda.

After the King of Iron Fist Tournament 4, Ling Xiaoyu lost her happiness due to the many events happening during the tournament. Panda was worried about her, so she thought long and hard how she could make Xiaoyu happy again. She concluded that if she found Jin Kazama that that would cheer Xiaoyu up. Panda did her best to find Jin, but she was unsuccessful.

One day, Xiaoyu came to Panda looking really happy. She said to Panda, “I’m going to enter the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5, so please help me again.” Panda wasn’t sure why she was happy, but seeing Xiaoyu happy again was enough for her, so she followed after Xiaoyu.

Trying to live a peaceful life in retirement... Ganryu opened a Sumo resort in Hawaii... Getting dumped by Michelle was now a good memory in his past...

One day, Ganryu was watching a video of the King of the Iron Fist 4 Tournament. He notices a Julia Chang, who looked exactly like Michelle in her younger years... and once again falls in love, despite his age.

He also found out that Julia Chang was trying to get back the "Forst Restoration Program" from the Mishima Zaibatsu. Right at that moment he hears about the King of The Iron Fist 5 Tournament.

He thinks... "OH MY GOD! What a coincidence! If I win the tournament and get that 'Forest Restoration Program' back, little Julia would fall in love with me for sure!"

... So this is what made Ganryu decide to enter the King of the Iron Fist 5 Tournament... at the age of 55.

Ganryu's story is ridiculous...especially when you consider that Julia is Michelle's adopted daughter. How the hell can they look "exactly" the same? But then again, its par for the course this time around as far as the stories are concerned.

And for those interested, Eddy Gordo's story is basically the same as Christie's.
 
I was never into tekken but I always find these animal characters very amusing. Now I've read the synposis of the animal character's relationships to their owners and their motivations, I have to say this fuckign AAAAAAAAAAAAA. I want to meet the guy that come up with storylines like this.
 
I really like what I'm seeing in each new screenshot. Maybe it's time to go try this at one of the few arcades left around here. :)
 
Kazuya was watered down? KAZUYA?!! The only character with less moves than Kazuya in the entire game (from Tag through 4) is Paul. And Paul has a pitiful selection of moves. The only thing that makes Kazuya worth playing in the first place is his stunning rising punch.

How could they actually take moves away? What does he have, like 3 moves now?
