I eat chicken, vegetables, protein powdah, and that's about it. Muscle loss has been non-existenant since I take in about 170ish grams of protein daily. My numbers fluxuate in the gym, but they've stayed in the same range as I've been on this diet.

That's pretty hardcore, my maintenance is around 3400 calories, and the calculator says extreme fat loss would be around 2000.

How or what do you eat them with? I saw a pretty huge can of them at the store today and they were damn cheap. I just have never really gotten them before.

saltines mostly. or just plain, i like them either way. the ones in hot sauce are my favorite.
be warned though, they are incredibly fishy tasting and smelling.

Tell ya just walking at like level 3.5 on treadmill with incline at max is pretty rough. Did that and then did sprints after lifting and another tabata session. It's fun to feel your cardio improving.

Walking is slept on when it comes to fitness. Love walking.

Just a couple of milestones that I feel good about but aren't anything special compared to you guys.

Squat is up to 135 finally. I finally get to put on the big boy plates.

Deadlift will be 200 next week. That feels really good especially for how new I am to lifting.

I went to the store today to get some eggs and checked the meat dept again to make sure I wasn't losing it, and yeah, chicken is 6 dollars/lb. It's organic. There's not a non-organic option for any of the meat. Ugh. No chicken breast in the frozen section, they had fish but it was pretty spendy.

Basically I need to find a store that actually sells non-organic meat.

The difference between non-organic and organic chicken these days is $.50-$1/lb. I'm not even exaggerating. Chicken has gone up tremendously in price these last 3 months. It used to be $3-4/lb for non-organic.

Move to central NY where Wegmans uses it as a loss leader at $1.99 a lb for fresh boneless skinless breasts in bulk.

Aldis has it for $1.50 a lb in Western New York. Hell the one day I walked in and they were selling gallons of whole milk for $.50. I was way happier than I should have been.

Can anyone recommend me some bodyweight stuff to do while on holiday for 5 days? I was thinking pushups, planks, bodyweight squats, maybe handstands etc.. But I have no idea how many sets or reps I should aim for.

Normally doing SS so hopefully something along those lines :)

Taking 5 days off won't kill you. Relax, use it as break.

If you really have to work out, situps/pushups can't hurt. Bonus points for finding a spot to do pullups/chin ups.

Make sure you switch up the types of pushups to hit shoulders as well as chest etc. You can do dips with two chairs.

If I were you I'd pass on the working out and just do a little cardio.

Dont worry about only 5 days, use it to let your body recover a bit more than usual.

Sit-ups can hurt if you're rounding your back a bunch. If you keep your back straight you're probably going to need an anchor for your feet and you're also not going to be working your abs that much and it's mostly hip flexors.

So today I switched just my Deadlifts to a 5/3/1 program since I was stalling with them.

Man the 5X10 afterwards is killer on the grip. I always though my grip was weaker, so I hope that helps with it.

Yeah, it will.

Did you get the book? You don't HAVE to do BBB (the 5x10 assistance routine).

$6 a lb for chicken is all they have at the store. I probably spent about 150 on food last month, and gained like 8 lbs. I've already said that I don't give a fuck about how things taste.

I was thinking to myself while reading this where the hell chicken is $6/lb. Then I realized..

I always forget one of the advantages of this area is cost of living.

Thanks for answers. I'll probably take it as a nice little break since it is only 5 days like you said. Prolly going to throw in some light exercise and maybe little cardio since it's warmer in France than it is in Finland so running outside isn't a problem :)

Said fuck it today. After running hills I decided it's a grill day.

Brats and burgers on the grill (with laughing cow mozzarella cheese inside) and just opened a Blue Moon. Summer in March.

No offense, guys, but walking is just walking.

So, I helped out a local powerlifting meet today. Wow. I saw some serious lifters, had 660 lbs dumped on me during a squat attempt, and meet some awesome people. The guy who showed me how to spot and load the bar/rack was a 40 something year old dude who decked out in full Naruto gear.

It was really awesome being in a place where a group of competitors can compete so fiercely but still support each other so much. It really puts into perspective the "getting toned for summer" guys who train when it's convenient.

Good shit man, that was probably a good experience.

I know I mentioned that I only eat so much, but I fucking demolished this diner after the meet. I was so goddamn hungry; I needed some food, meat mostly. I craved meat. This was like a primal, bestial hunger. I feel satiated now.

My mid back and left squat feel sore and stiff after getting 660 dumped on me. I'm hoping this won't turn anything bad.

Sooo, as part of my second cutting phase I started doing Tabata sprints....

...and I enjoyed it. I mean yeah, I nearly died, but I did a lot better than I thought I would. I haven't done any sort of running/sprinting since before my pulmonary embolism last year. Time to kick it up a notch on Tuesday.

Jeez, trying to do muscle ups but they hard. Anyone have any good recommendations for transitioning into them? I've been doing explosive pullups (to the nipples) so far.

Hey fellas. I still have a bit of flabby loose skin at my belly and a bit on my arms and upper back from my weight loss.

Any way to get the skin to tighten quickly?

I don't mean to alarm you but you have dogs on your face
I just bought some ribbons to do shoulder dislocation stretches to hopefully help with my shoulder flexibility which I'm thinking may be making barbell squatting difficult for me. How often should I do those?

I still cant do pullups and chinups, so its past time I started working to do them. Tried negative chinups but i couldnt even hold on for 10 seconds, and after two sets of five my arms felt like they wanted to walk away from me. That was quite humbling and pathetic. :lol

If you can get a hold of some resistance bands they can help.

Hey guys, going crazy here 0_o

I started at 270lbs.

I've been working hard the past 2 months to lose weight. I've lost 20lbs just by cutting calories (no exercise).

My diet is usually oatmeal * coffee in the morning. Salad or soup for lunch. Banana or pretzels/hummus for snack, and a baked chicken breast for dinner. And about 32oz of water roughly.

2 weeks ago I started exercising after noticing my weight not changing for the week. I also cut my calories by a little bit. I'm doing hour long walks at brisk pace, going up/down a few steep hills. Despite that I'm still not seeing any weight loss. I've been stuck at 250lbs (give or take a pound). That's three weeks of no change in weight.

I don't know much about weight loss to help, but you should definitely cut out the pretzels. They are empty calories. Really, I can't think of anything worse than pretzels.

Try upping your calories a bit for a few days by 200 and then after about a week, try cutting your calories by 400. Sometimes a shock to the body helps.

Also, you may want to increase the exercise to something more vigerous. Try jogging, some weight training, that sort of thing. Or keep on doing what you or doing and take up a sport. If weight loss is your goal, and not gaining strength or running long distance, this should help.

My 36th birthday was yesterday, so I decided to really push myself. Started off with getting my 3rep Deadlift Max at 385lbs and then went into this circut for time:
Deadlift 225lbs
DB Thrusters 35lbs
Dips
Pull ups

3 rounds done with 21 reps the first round, 16 the second, and 10 the third. I was dying on the third round and had to stop so many times. When I was done, my wife and son thought I was going to feint!

To show off a bit, here are my before and after pics. The last one isn't super current. I've added 5lbs of musce since then. Ever since my Ulcerated Colitus has gone into remission and I've cut the drugs down from 8 pills a day and an IV of remicade twice a month to no pills and an IV every 8 weeks, I've made great strides.
