I messed up my rotator cuff doing weighted dips by going too low (hands to armpits) so just be careful.I've never actually tried a dip, weighted or otherwise. Really should at some point.

Yeah, dips messed up my shoulders eventually. Of course I was finishing with 4 plates so that may have been the real reason.

Why don't you just do them to parallel or slightly below like normal people? LolHmm... I already have shoulder issues, so might just continue to skip those.
Yeah that's what is recommended. So it was my faultWhy don't you just do them to parallel or slightly below like normal people? Lol
Congrats, Faiz! Isn't Disney supposed to have decent fitness centers at their resorts? Unless it's more of a time/family issue for you.
I think the fitness center at the Animal Kingdom Lodge actually has barbells and free weights
Going to operate my torn meniscus sometime next week. Wish me luck guys.
Is that the one at Kidani or Jambo? AKL is our home resort and second half of this stay is at Kidani.
The one at Jambo. I'm trying to find pictures of a barbell and I'm only seeing smith machines so I might be wrong. Also, 10 days at an animal kingdom resort is a baller move.
This is the most technically perfect deadlift I've ever performed. Weight isn't important. The goal was speed and technique. This is what I learned from Donnie Thompson. https://youtu.be/e2zhFCh53ls
What's going on there at the start? Looks like you're practising use of the force, but you tire of the weight's insolence so decide to rip it from the floor instead.
Unrelated. Don't normally post about my lifting session, but there were three lifts I was going to deload if I couldn't hit my reps today and by some miracle I managed to get all three. My last one (squat) was a bit sketchy on the final set, but I checked the vid and I hit well below parallel, so I'm taking it.

That's part of what Donnie showed me. Stretch the supinated hand down several times then leave it stretched, reach down just enough to get the grip, and setup from there. Look at the bend in the bar before it comes up. All the slack is out, it's incredibly tight and I don't even feel the weight as I come up.
Also, just found out my deck needs to come down, Brolic, think I could rent you out for like 5 minutes? Lol

Damn, that deadlift is on point Brolic. Is that something you'll be doing on the regular now?
Deadlifting in the morning, gonna give some thought to this technique Brolic is showing.

Whoa, are you sure about that? That's like using an elephant gun to kill a fly.
Your whole house is coming down.
I don't deallift in oly shoes. Just feels weird lifting on a wedge. Just get both type of shoes and your problem is solved.Thinking about getting replacment shoes for my chucks for lifting.
Am I better off getting Olympic lifting shoes or flat shoes like the reebok crossfit lite tr?
Is deadlifting in Olympic shoes a problem for people?

Is it okay to lift in running shoes? I have a pair of running Adidas that I've been using instead of something with a flat sole. I don't see how they can be a problem has long as you're aren't raising your heels during a deadlift or something like that.
Wrong Shoes: Running Shoes. The air & gel filling is great for reducing impact shock from running. But bad for lifting. Running shoes will limit your strength & prevent good lifting technique.
- Unstable. Soles are squishy so you cant predict their behavior on each rep. This makes it harder to control your technique and lift properly.
- Power Loss. The soles absorb the force generated against the floor instead of directing it towards moving the weight. You lose strength.
- Dangerous. Higher risk of injury, especially with heavier weights, since the soles make it hard to balance yourself and are less stable.
Spider-man costume or bust.About to post a picture and want you guys to critique me. Uh should the picture be in a tank or complete shirtless?

Yup. I don't have lifting shoes but I go barefoot for all of my compound lifts: deads, squats, ohp, etc. Unsure if shoes are better but I prefer less between my feet and the floor.Like Choco said above, go find a good pair of lifting shoes. The difference is night and day. I use to lift in Skechers that have a curved bottom (it's supposed to improve calf strength but I don't know if that's really true) and didn't think of it. When those wore out, I got a pair of flat lifting shoes and it improves stability so much. Especially for exercises like barbell squats.
In the nude so we can really, really, critique you.

I'll do it next time <3
Mannnn all I got is a superman one!
Anyone ever drop a plate on ur foot? Cuz I did and feel silly
I wouldn't.
IIRC, Alan Thrall gave an analogy that lifting in running shoes is like lifting with foam cushions attached to your feet.

Wow... So I was getting ready for a wedding party tonight and I realised that I look pretty damn good. Hadn't really seen myself dressed up for a good while. Caught myself in the mirror and I'm now quite broad but with a very tight waist. Had loads of compliments since we got here too.
Win o/
I can't brag about my numbers, only that I'm hotter than a MF.No stealth-bragging for this guy lol
"I'm hot AF"
Jesus. You're a beast. I'd say you're on point - excellent vascularity.
Been like this the past few weeks working 12s every day. Just 2 more weeks of this and I'm off for the winter and down to one job which I can hopefully make full time eventually.Had a shit work out today - dropped a rep on my top set of deadlifts and just felt weak overall. Not terribly surprising since I'm coming off the two worst nights of sleep this week, but hard to rationalize it and keep spirits up. Golfers elbow was really flaring up today as well. Oh well, thanksgiving dinner at work on Monday then one more day till vacation.
