Great beer!
Am I any less of a man for having a thirst for some Angry Orchard this weekend? lol

Great beer!
for those into M&Ms and don't care about the facts the strawberry shortcake found exclusively at Target is pretty legit for artificial flavor. lol. it's white chocolate with the SC shell
Need some advice guys.
I'm getting married January 2017 (10 months) and we are doing a destination wedding.
I want to look buff on the beach and in shape. Problem is I'm overweight right now 6'2" 335lbs, but good news is that I'm willing to do anything to get ready for this wedding.
Diet wise I'm thinking about going back to the low carb/keto/primal eating plan, as I have had success with that before.
I would like a workout program that will help with weight loss and muscle gain. I know starting strength is a popular choice amongst people I have spoken too, but I have a bad knee and won't be able to do the squats recommended in that program. I am not opposed to heavy lifting for upper body moves.
Help me out guys, I need to achieve this so I don't look gross in front of 75 of my friends and family on a beach.
Great beer!
...this was my view for the last 7 days:
It's raining and cool in NY today *sigh*
Bum I just found this place that has it on tap. Lordy that is some good beer.
Oh man nice bro. I'm rolling to Mexico next week. Where is that? Florida?
First off, congrats!
Second, we can help you, but definitely keep your expectations in check. 10 months seems like a looooooooooong time, but it's not.
Not being able to squat (and deadlift I assume) will make existing programs (531/SS/etc.) extremely difficult. I'd suggest locking in your diet and forcing yourself to go to the gym for an hour a day 4-5 times a week for the time-being. Heavy cardio and a body part a day for a couple weeks...and when you've done that, pop back in for more.
Thanks a lot buddy. I'm thinking I'm gonna follow the body part a day and do 20 min hiit cardio 4-5 days seems doable, I'm usually exhausted after work (construction) but no pain no gain right? Haha
It is an excellent beer. Definitely not recommended for cutting season though, lol.
Re: the pic...Marco Island, Florida. Absolutely gorgeous place that (weather-wise) is effectively the San Diego of the east coast (75-85 degrees with little rain and a phenomenal breeze). Nothing like catching, cleaning and cooking your own dinner too.
Where in Mexico??
Man I love FL. It is my saving grace living in NYC. Just a quick flight to paradise.
Were going to Tulum. First time for me I normally go to Cabo or PV.
Tulum is incredible, you'll love it. Far better than Cabo imho. Went last year.Man I love FL. It is my saving grace living in NYC. Just a quick flight to paradise.

Guys i think i did something wrong on the day i did chest, because i have this weird pressure, discomfort when breathing, pseudo pain... Anyone ever got something like that when lifting?
I really don't know what to do. I'm so frustrated that i'll probably have to be away from the weights...
"IIFYM" + intermittent fasting = easy-mode for cutting.
+1 to this.Wow, I skimmed through the shortcut to size program. Judging by the nutrition and workout it's basically a bulking program with barely a progression scheme, which is probably the opposite of what you really need. My advice is to simplify the training (while increasing the intensity) and train yourself more in diet adherence.
You also need to program your diet. Start tracking calories, Myfitnesspal has a phone app that even lets you scan barcodes on packaged foods so you can start there. Other stuff you might need a food scale to help you get a proper number for food weight. Without actually knowing your intake nobody can really help much, "eating too much" and "starving yourself" are two statements that don't really have any real relevance in this case without data. My advice, forget what you should be eating for the next week and just focus on eating and tracking consistently. Then you can find out where you can, and need to change.
Overall, the problem is that yes, CICO is the "duh" answer. But calories out isn't a number you can attain reliably in any real world setting, and judging by what you've given, your calories in hasn't been established at all. So definitely work on that.
Looking good dude. Arms look great! No pump and I'm able to have a baby bicep bump. Finally. Tube arms can go to hell!

I think Bish and Cooter have had success doing really small windows. Something like 3 hours and had success. I have shortened my window to be really tight as sort of a reset if I have a weekend where I absolutely binge. Like take for instance this weekend where I ate two 12" Pot Pies, 4 Haagen Daaz dark chocolate bars, Thai burgers, two orders of a dozen hot wings, an endless amount of Guinness and Flower Power IPA and some chocolate chip cookies.

I don't want to sound like a jerk, but the bolded sounds funny because you're likely back to where you were before you started. So I wouldn't say it's successful for you at all. Diet is a lifestyle change. If you're going to go back to what you ate after hitting a goal, you will be running in circles.

IIFYM is basically impossible for us vegans unless we eat tons of tofu. Everything else has 3x as many carbs as protein (legumes), or 2x the fat to 1x carbs/protein (nuts/seeds).
I'm thinking of supplementing with creatine. Seems cheaper than whey protein powder per serving and there seems to be a good amount of evidence to support its use.
Anyone with experience? How should it be taken?

As a vegan wouldn't your macros just be different though?
Not ideally. I think most people generally want a fairly even split, especially when cutting. Having 3x as many carbs as protein or 2x as much fat isn't really ideal for cutting or gaining (muscle).
Yes you are, lol ciders lol.
I suggest you mix the cider with something like fireball or a stout for a snakebite to earn more manliness points
What about tempeh?
Fuck being manly, a good cider with a shot of fireball is god damn tasty. That's all that matters to me when I drink anything.Yes you are, lol ciders lol.

The bar is so sweet. So glad I paid the extra for a decent one.
I think I just need a couple more plate racks and I'm good to go.

Wheat beer lover here. I just can't get enough Hefeweizen. If it's not that, it's usually tequila or an Italian red wine (super Tuscans FTW).I like the taste of my alcohol too ( what's the point of getting drunk if I can't enjoy it). My friends have conditioned me too much. I'm still not on the IPA train tho, Belgian Ales fo lyfe

It's Kyle Bosman my favorite person at Gametrailers (R.I.P GT). Love his videos, humor and just his general attitude. Sorry if the pic was misleading, lol.
Phrasing!!!
There's so many terms I can use without it sounding bad lolPhrasing!!!

What's the current concensus on 5/3/1 for general strength/hypertrophy? Yay or nay? Anything I should know/do that isn't in the original book ie. what's the best way to do it? 5/3/1 or 3/5/1? First set last? Joker sets? Assistance after that?
Edit:
Read the seemingly relevant parts of Beyond but would still like some pointers.
Jokers and FSL or just FSL?
How much assistance would you do afterwards? From what I read you could superset back movements with the pressing and not worry sbout the other stuff so much?
Thinking about implementing Jokers (when I feel like it) and FSL. Superset these with rows and chins. Then finish with some laterals/face pulls and a little tricep work and/or push-ups if I feel up to it. Squats and deadlifts followed byt lower back/hamstring and ab work.
