Hahahaha what?

A challenge from behind isn't a red card. Neither is cynicism.

You're off your tits.

Slide tackles from behind or with both legs extended have now been outlawed due to the injury and danger to other players that it causes. These tackles generally earn the player who commits them a straight red card, even if the ball is won cleanly and the tackle is not technically a foul.

The rules of soccer state that a slide tackle from behind requires an automatic red card.

FIFA emphasized in the past the great danger in slide tackles from behind because, if this tackle is not done perfectly, the potential for injury is so much greater. Nowadays, if the referee decides that the foul while tackling from any direction–from the front, the side, or the rear–was done in such a way as to endanger the safety of the opponent, the proper action is to send the violator off the field with a red card.

This match is ridiculous. Gerrard is embarassing in most areas of his game these days, but he's one of two on the pitch capable of seeing and executing an incisive pass ona semi-regular basis

Gif of Jordi Gomez's free kick hitting the camera from head on might be fun.

My god, take a damn shot! Team just keeps trying to pass it 3 feet to another attacker in the box and it gets knocked away. Balotelli has been useless -- he's turned off right now. No interest.

Tell me the last time a player was sent off for a one footed slide tackle from behind that wasn't last man?

Nastasic is pro. I can't see Mancini dropping him when he's really done nothing wrong in every game he has played.

Sogood.jpg. The new Vidic indeed and only 19.

Pressing well at the moment, probably as good as I've seen in a while from us, just not connecting and executing well in the final third.

The most important thing is that we've held up well defensively. Nothing as bad as we've seen in prior games in the recent weeks.

Relatively happy with that half. We've got control of the midfield, but Clev/Rooney/Hernandez have been poor. The former is anonymous and the latter two have been clumsy, untidy and keep getting caught in possession.

Anderson's been good. Lovely pass after lovely pass, a bit of drive in midfield, running forward as opposed to sideways. Loving it.

They're threatening from set pieces but that's to be expected.

Could be better, but I'll take that any time over the invisible midfield and useless crosses out from the wing... you can see it's just a matter of patience and better execution, and at least they're putting themselves in position for those chances in the first place.

Oooh, nice effort from Yaya.. great dribbling to get to goal although al Habsi saved as it was a tough angle. Surprised they blew for time with City possessing just outside the box. Maybe that will get Yaya going.

Love having Ando in midfield, great having someone who doesn't get pushed off the ball easily.

teams playing well, Think RVP and Rooney have to go out wide a little more, West Ham have everyone defending around the box.
