Liverpool need to go back to signing expensive overrated English flops. That Midfield is pretty damn good on paper.
Would it be a stretch to say he's regressed in the last 3 or so years? Injuries considered, of course

What 3 o'clock match should I watch? I'm thinking the United match but I only want to watch that if they lose/draw.

It's at old Trafford so they probably won't
C'mon the Swans!!!!
Let finish the day top of the league!!! No reason why we can't beat the Hammers, as long as the players have come down to earth after last weekends rout. May not be 'Chico time' today though, out injured apparently.

The Swans are everyones second team. Is Ki going to play today? I assume not?
I think Swansea will be near the top of the table for a good while this season. Their first 8 or 9 games are piss easy for them.
There were moments of tension at Corso Galileo Ferraris in Turin yesterday. A very confused man tried to gain access to Juve's HQ, demanding a tryout at Vinovo, Juve's training grounds, saying he is a 'clone of the great Omar Sivori'. He was even wearing a Sivori jersey. They quickly escorted him to a near hospital. Amazing. There goes our top striker ...
One of the greatest ever:

What's there to lose? Give him a trial!!
And Preziosi's comment, I feel sick... :/
Not today unfortunately. Funny how a few weeks can change your entire outlook on the season. When Rodgers went, then Gylfi didn't want to come back, then Joe Allen went.....I couldn't help feel very pesimistic. Fast forward to today (or even last week BEFORE the QPR game started), and I feel we've every chance to finish mid table once again!
Free transfers stacks up right? Can't really think of any good transfers to make, maybe change captain.
No. Caps at 2 free transfers.Free transfers stacks up right? Can't really think of any good transfers to make, maybe change captain.

Interesting stuff.I was told in early July that Arsenal were possibly going to sign a RM player on loan, but not sure who. I was later made aware that it was Nuri Sahin, the 10/11 Bundesliga POTY. It was a surprise to me due to our congested midfield, but it became clear that reason behind signing Sahin on loan was to provide cover for Jack Wilshere, as there was still uncertainty over his recovery from injury.
The press picked up on it, and after Arsenal had signed Santi Cazorla, Nuri Sahin seemed to be next in line; however, a player needed to leave before Arsenal could bring him in. Arsenal stalled and this is where Liverpool seemed to take control of the deal, as the relationship between Mourinho and Rogers seemed to give them the edge.
Liverpool were in the driving seat and rumours were rife among LFC fans that a deal had been concluded, however, Arsenal had a player leave (in the shape of RVP) and were now back in the hunt. It was reported that AFC had made and attempt to "hijack the hijack".
The fact Sahin's preference was Arsenal had them feeling confident they could get him. Arsenal and RM went back to the table to discuss a deal. On Monday 20th August, Arsenal reached an agreement with RM and preparations were made for his arrival at London Colney, for a photoshoot & initial medical procedures. Sahin never arrived at Colney, and It later emerged that RM had moved the goalposts on the agreement and were seeking a higher buyout fee. It seemed RM were doing all they could stop Sahin moving to Arsenal. "A few people are making the deal difficult", no guesses for who one of those people were.
Arsenal conduct their business in a professional and ethical manor, and would've been disappointed with RM's behaviour surrounding the deal. Later in the week, it was reported that Arsenal had dropped their interest in the player. I translated that as Arsenal had ended their interest in doing business with Real Madrid.
Now that a deal with Arsenal was off, Liverpool came back in. On the 25th of August, they announced they had reached an agreement with Real Madrid over the loan signing of Nuri Sahin. Liverpool will pay £5m for his services without the option to buy, as well as paying a high/full proportion of his wages. A total outlay of over £10m.
Wenger later stated "If we wanted to sign Sahin, we would have". It seems a combination of Real Madrid's negotiating tactics, the financials of the deal and possibly the faster than expected recovery of Jack Wilshere, led Arsenal to end
interest in signing him.
As for the player, I have no hard feelings and wish him the best at LFC. He's a fantastic player and if he stays injury free, he will be a superb addition for them. Only time will tell if he provides value for the money involved.

Aren't you mixing things ? I think he got that because he scored the first competitive goal in the Juve Arena. The scorer of Juve's first goal this season will receive 24 bottles of wine & white truffles. Lichtsteiner received the same last year.
Felix has died of complications from emphysema took some stick amidst the plaudits for his team mates but made some crucial saves.

Perhaps unsurprisingly after that 5-0 hammering of QPR, Swansea are unchanged this afternoon. New record signing Ki Sung-Yeung was not signed in time to feature.
Matt Jarvis starts for West Ham.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/aug/25/nuri-sahin-liverpool-loanLiverpool have confirmed they have made an agreement, beating off competition from Arsenal, to sign Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin on a season-long loan deal. Sahin will be the fourth new arrival at Anfield following Joe Allen, Fabio Borini and Oussama Assaidi.
Sahin moved to Madrid last summer after helping Borussia Dortmund secure the German championship and being named as the Bundesliga's Player of the Season.
The playmaker collected another league title winners' medal as the Spanish giants clinched La Liga in May.
Sahin has 31 caps for Turkey and became their youngest ever scorer when he netted on his debut against Germany in 2005, aged 17. The 23-year-old will now undergo a medical on Merseyside.
Quite a few places have reported his wages at being 115k or around that.I don't believe for a second that he makes £115k per-week, Real Madrid are more conservative than many believe when it comes to player salaries. There have been so many discrepancies in the numerous Nuri Sahin stories (Arsenal happy to pay his wages, Arsenal not willing to pay all of his wages, Real Madrid wanting a £14m buyout, Real Madrid not wanting a buyout, Liverpool pulling out, Liverpool paying £5m for a loan deal etc etc) from "supposed" reliable sources that I can't take anything anyone says seriously anymore tbh. Only fact is Liverpool have the player for a year which is good for them. Shame as he's been one of my favourites for years but it's one of the milder disappointments a Gooner can face these days.
Anyway, Arsene says he wants a "completely defensive" midfielder. Midfield is his strongest and most successful position in terms of signings so I'm interested to see who he brings in.
Yeah, maybe it'll give him the kick up the ass he needs. He was sluggish on the ball against Everton as was Nani and Welbeck. If Rooney were to continue playing badly would you drop him?
7h30min to go. I promised to easy on myself and try to relax before matches ... yeah, right. I'm already in full tension. JUVEEEEEEEE, JUVEEEEEEEEE, JUVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! I hope to see Giovinco score tonight.

Hazard is a quicker Joe Cole
HAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAa
On his day.Hazard is a quicker Joe Cole

I wouldn't mind it if was that much, but I doubt it. At a guess, the £5 million will probably include wages. Why do all "ITKs" always claim to know confidential contract information like wages? My take on the Sahin saga part 1 #AFC #LFC
