we somehow don't have a capable defensive midfielder... Khedira (if fit) is a headless chicken, Lahm is a defensive 'liability' and Schweini is way past past it. Kroos can't handle the 6 alone and Ginter... well. I just figured it's best to pray for a Oliver Kirch like performance from Bender and basically mirror Dortmund's playstyle.

Chelsea needs Bosingwa
Remember when Chelsea and Chelsea-GAF were adamant that United were up to no good when the Mata/Luiz rumours broke out in the summer. Fady especially was apoplectic at our lies.Definitely better to watch. I love the idea that Mourinho has fallen out with/is annoyed by all 3 of them.

I would be trying to sign Sascha Lewandowski if I was sporting director of a club.

Brighton v Derby @ 7.45pm
It looks so goooooood. Can't wait.
I consider our season to be a success. Winning the league was always going to be really tough given the limitations of our squad. You can go through and nitpick certain results like some fools do but every club that doesn't win it, especially Chelsea, can do the same. The fact is this is part and parcel the same team from last season with Ozil added and last season we crashed out of the FA cup to Blackburn and finished 18 points of the title so to be 7 points off with the possibility of the FA cup? Very good for me, would have accepted that at the start of the season.Same as Liverpool then really. Though I do wonder if there are Arsenal fans who would trade the FA Cup for going into the last day in contention for the title, even if they likely ended up second

City fans seemed more interested in mocking Gerrard than they did actually supporting their own team to win the match.

Good god reading the Strategic Loan partnership thing
Allowing big clubs to loan 8 players to a feeder club, and the big club is allowed to dictate the loan by sending their OWN coaches to guide their development according the big club's philosophy.
There are several (other) initiatives in the report.
Just going over it right now, but this one caught my eye:
Currently, clubs are allowed to borrow up to eight players on standard loans
each season, but only four plus a youth player from one club. Under the
SLP system, a Senior club would be allowed to lend up to eight players to its
Partner club at any time.
Liverpool Echo seem to think that if we're going to break the bank, it's for a goalscoring number 10. Probably means Coutinho continuing to play deeper, and Sterling staying out wide.
Some other interesting bits:
- Suso and Ilori are expected to be part of the squad next season, assuming they perform adequately in pre-season.
- Assaidi and Aspas definately on the way out.
- Agger looking to be on the way out.
- Lucas fate still very much up in the air.
- Borini's future is up to him. If he's happy to be third choice striker, he will stay.
Gomez doesn't have much of a lobby in Germany because his last name is Gomez. Podolski and Özil probably receive more criticism than natural German players as well. Things like this do make a difference even if we want to pretend they don't.
