EC 2012 Khedira was awesome. After eating all the praise he got there up he thought he could try chilling in the opponents box and be at times the most offensive player on the pitch, although he can't even produce a clean first touch. He didn't just do this shit at the DFB he did it as well at Real.
Don't know what's gotten into him.
Still don't know about Bender. He is the only classic "sweeping" 6 we've got, but who knows, maybe Kevin "Nanny für alles" Großkreutz can jump into that gap. Tall, runs a lot and could work as a box to box player.
Guardiola trying to replicate Busquets with Kroos and Lahm hasn't worked out. Both have no physical presence at all and Kroos can't handle 1v1 pressure as well as Lahm, who at least thanks to his low centre of gravity can make quick turns to be more resilient to it.
Maybe Schweinsteiger alone in an 4-1-4-1 formation might work. He's the closest to a box to box player. In a Guardiola style possession system (you know Löw is gonna dickride on Guardiola style haaarrrrrrrrd) it might work.

I just tried to think of a best starting lineup. It's harder than you'd think, the striker situation is ridiculous.
I'd love to see Klose beast once again but I have major doubts about him having the ability to play a full tournament. He would get injured at some point, certainly can't start every match. And then we have who? A good old striker like Gomez would have been great.
At this point, Reus will make or break this World Cup for Germany.

I consider our season to be a success. Winning the league was always going to be really tough given the limitations of our squad. You can go through and nitpick certain results like some fools do but every club that doesn't win it, especially Chelsea, can do the same. The fact is this is part and parcel the same team from last season with Ozil added and last season we crashed out of the FA cup to Blackburn and finished 18 points of the title so to be 7 points off with the possibility of the FA cup? Very good for me, would have accepted that at the start of the season.
I wouldn't swap our position for Liverpool's solely because of the pressure Arsenal have to end the trophy drought. Also Ozil cones and we win a trophy, I like that a lot. Trophy success can propel confidence and more success from our younger players which is better for us than almost winning the league but missing out by 1 game.
If Arsenal were in Liverpool's position everyone would laugh at us and say we chocked and say 9-10 years no trophy lol!

Gomez doesn't have much of a lobby in Germany because his last name is Gomez. Podolski and Özil probably receive more criticism than natural German players as well. Things like this do make a difference even if we want to pretend they don't.
I think the criticism of Altidore has been worse because he's American. He's had an awful season and no one would say otherwise, but he has multiple things going against him perception wise. Clint Dempsey didn't get as much praise a few years back as he deserved when he scored 17 in the league and 23 overall because he was American. Liverpool Echo seem to think that if we're going to break the bank, it's for a goalscoring number 10. Probably means Coutinho continuing to play deeper, and Sterling staying out wide.

- Assaidi and Aspas definately on the way out.
- Agger looking to be on the way out.

That doesn't matter here, apart from a few blockheads.
Podolski was one of our biggest talents 2004 and he made some stupid decisions (going back to cologne or joining Bayern).
He could have been alot better, but nearly every of our wingers is a better player these days.
Özil get's the same amount of criticism as he get's at Arsenal, he can be the player that decides the match.Sadly, if he doesn't he's pretty much invisible alot of the time.
And Gomez had bad luck and quite a few injuries, plus there was someone who was constantly making goals, his name is Klose.
Now, Gomez was injured nearly the entire season while someone like Volland just stood out the same season.
Plus Gomez just isn't the type of player Löw likes, Klose is pretty much integrated into the system while Gomez struggled pretty often.
Gomez is a nice and cool guy though, his reaction to the nomination was awesome.
Just shows that he is a teamplayer.
