Maybe one day...

Play Eto'o in games at Anfield and the other back-up when you are playing away. That's a pretty solid strategy; Eto'o has been useless recently away from home.eto'o is a very good player and will do a job, but if there's any truth to those reports (and i imagine there is) then it makes me wonder about the extent of our contingency plans for suarez's departure. signing a top class forward is never easy, and it seems even harder in this climate, but we've only seen confirmed links with remy and possibly bony.
from the outside we haven't looked very prepared. i'm sure there's lots of inquiries we'll never hear about though.
Quiche, are you actually Roman?
I wish. Then I could actually sack Torres or something.
Eto'o would be an interesting signing. personally, if I were Liverpool, I'd choose Remy (both for the immediate impact and the future) over Eto'o but either would be decent options I suppose. it's a very low-risk, short-term signing... seems very un-Rodgers/FSG-like (though, Rodgers was a bit unhappy about not signing Dempsey a few years ago right? maybe FSG is learning from that)
Remy's case seems similar to Ba. They both have failed medicals, but they will/got another chance. If Remy does come to Chelsea, it could be a blessing in disguise for him.
I just hope he doesn't intend to start
Or kick King Costa in training
Do we think we're likely to get Remy? We tried to sign him in 2012 and didn't in the end because he failed a medical and we decided not to proceed... not sure why we would change our minds now.
Plus, Benatia/Remy... the squad is just getting bigger. We've stopped signing players for a reason, the team is literally too big. Either that or we'll sign a couple and tell someone else to either leave or sit in the reserves. I can see Mikel doing that.
I didn't know we tried to sign him, but he failed his medical. I knew we were interested in him when he was at Marseille, but I thought that was it.
I agree it is getting to the stage where we are buying for the sake of it. At least three players in our general squad should be long gone, and replaced. If Drogba is out for a substantial amount of time, then we will need another CF. Whether Remy is the right choice, is another story.
Yep, they kept ChelseaTV and poor Gigi up until the window shut because they were deciding what to do all day after he failed his medical and they pulled the plug. I bet RDM was gutted and obviously he ended up at QPR that January (I think?), so at least he still ended up in West London even if it was QPR...
I don't think we're buying for the sake of it but I would be prioritising selling Torres/Mikel and maybe Ramires and getting in another striker and midfielder. Unless Ramires decides to stop being a dickhead and play like he used to, Cech could still go too although I bet Courtois getting that slight knock might have stopped that.
If Jose is concerned about Zouma's ability to be 3rd choice centre back then getting someone else in (If he doesn't fancy Branna there) is fine but I'm not sure about £30m for Benatia, I mean obviously Cahill get benched in that case... or maybe JT will play a bit less this season.
Who knows. Not going to say no to a player like Benatia if Jose thinks he is worth the money.
We'd also have much less of a problem if we hadnt given Schwarzer a new deal. I mean not that I begrudge him one but we can't have 3 non-English trained keepers in the team, its just a waste of a space but surely its been done because one of Cech and Courtois was going and its most likely Cech. Next season (not the coming season) we will probably try and sign an English keeper to be back-up, perhaps go for Ruddy again if Norwich don't get promoted and have him as back-up to Courtois, we solve us so many problems.
Another CB? ehhhhhh. I don't think we necessarily "need one" but another CM or striker is the priority. Especially now that Drogba got injured. He thrived at QPR aswell.
I personally think he need a CB,CM, and a CF. We need to prioritize first, and try to offload one or two players.

What does Roma want for Pjanic? Someone get Benfica on the line I want Rodrigo
![]()
Yeah Pogba is probably my most wanted player but I've given up hope on that one happening.Cahill, JT, and Iva isn't enough IMO. Zouma doesn't look ready at all ATM, so one would be nice.
Rodrigo signed for Valencia a few weeks ago, and Roma won't sell Pjanic on the cheap. It would be in our best interest to go all out for Pogba, as he would count as HG.
Yeah Pogba is probably my most wanted player but I've given up hope on that one happening.Would like if the Adrien Rabiot link was real and we signed him on the cheap. Quality player with loads of potential.
Chambers is 3rd choice. Höwedes can fuck off.Would Howedes be a good third choice for Arsenal?
He didn't look good as a fullback at the wc.
Milch? Or another Bundesface.
Chambers is 3rd choice. Höwedes can fuck off.
.... Signing top level centre backs is so easy. 50m Luiz and Barca's signings show just how easy it is. All lined up nicely along the supermarket to choose from.As i said yesterday. Chambers as third choice is the type of Wenger Bonehead decision that will see us fighting for 3rd and only a quarter final spot in the Champions League at best.
Personally, one of our first two would preferably be 3rd choice because both of them are a tier below world class. Mert has no pace and as we play a high line that will always see us make mistakes and Kosc makes terrible decisions that cost us penalties/red cards.
This team will still ship 5-6 goals against top level opponents.
Chambers is 3rd choice. Höwedes can fuck off.
Come transfer windows end we'll see. Aside from Höwedes who's not that great. The other players linked are DM's first.No. He isn't.
You wanting him to be won't change that.

What's strange is how multiple Arsenal blogs who are respectable are very impressed, Wenger's comments glowing, everything positive yet you pick on a couple of instances that can happen to any player. No matter who we sign that will happen, happened countless times to Kos and Merte last season and will happen to them again this season. Your grasping at that as reason he should be 4th choice which isn't enough game time.No. He isn't.
You wanting him to be won't change that.
Your love affair with Chambers is odd. He got beat yesterday multiple times by relatively slow strikers. Not a good sign.
Wenger said that a replacement who can play multiple positions is what he's after. Jeremy Wilson also said we are not close to signing anyone, just monitoring and keeping our options open.Except Wenger said if Vermaelen is sold he will be replaced.
And every reputable journalist has said we are after a replacement.
How many more signings you expecting this window?Chambers will get more time at RB than CB this year.
How many more signings you expecting this window?
Good luck with that. I'm expecting 1 to cover both positions. I will be very shocked if we sign 2, very very shocked.
dat front four.Nein. Niemals.
I just want this formation (considering Thiago is injued).
----- Neuer
Lahm - Boateng - Dante - Alaba
---Martinez - Schweini--
Robben - Götze - Müller/Ribery
-----Lewandowski
;(((
Plsss
Muller will eventually come to Arsenal.
No. He isn't.

I hope Woody and LVG are cosy in those warm beds not signing anyone.

Super cozy.
What about complaining less about signings while rather looking forward to see Gaal improving a squad that won the title 2 years ago?
BrokenLol my avatar is in bed with a man.
He won't we are destined to fight for 17th with Wes Brown.
Chambers hype is not from preseason at all. I was hyped on Chambers before the window even opened. He's incredibly talented but he needs game time and he can be our starting cb for 10+ years once he gets more experience.Think we need to rein in expectations for Chambers. Senderos was part of a defense that didn't concede a goal all the way to the CL final look at him now. My point being 3 preseason games is not enough evidence to trust him as being our 3rd choice CB for an entire league campaign. No matter how good he's looked, it just isn't. We need an another body in that role. If Chambers is good enough he'll shine past the competition. As it should be.
