Chelsea playing good football. Interested to see how they'll set up in the tougher games.

Another Flabbyarse assist?

Said it at the time, how does Wenger turn Fabregas down? Better midfielder than anything they have bar maybe Ramsey. And you prevent your supposed title rival from getting a massive player. Silly.

Alternate universe Marc post:

"Said it at the time, how does Wenger turn Sanchez down? Better attacker than anything they have, and you prevent your supposed title rival from getting a massive player. Silly."

Ozil is the superior no 10 to Fabregas. Mourinho and Wenger both think so. Fabregas always does this perform at the start of the season and then tail off toward the end. We've moved on. Ramsey, Sanchez and Mesut fit our system more than Cesc .

It's funny because Cesc basically was your system for a few years.

Am I wrong, weddy-boy?

Cesc said that, didn't he? Arsene vetoed Cesc's move cause he already had Ozil, no?

Who's the idiot now? Sore little baby looooool

At least respond, don't hide in the dunce corner. Point out to me where what Arnie or myself said is wrong.
Respond?

We spent £42m last summer on a player in his position and undoubtedly gave him assurances he would be a starter, along with a boatload of wages. Cesc becomes available the next summer for a (relatively) large fee and in all likelihood would demand higher wages. As it stands, in summer 2014, creativity is not a problem in our squad. We needed someone like Alexis to make up for our serious deficiencies in pace and cutting edge.

Really, it isn't hard to see why Wenger made the decision he did. Would I have liked Cesc back for sentimental reasons? Of bloody course, but it isn't reasonable to expect management to sanction a deal like that. Although we are much more financially powerful now, we're no oil club.

Using hindsight in this manner is a bit stupid. Would we have got a better player if we had waiting another year? Possibly. But we could have been out of the top 4 as a result.

I tried to make a thread with the Ashley Young diet title but I couldn't connect to GAF for like a minute so I gave up

I see the thread has descended into a shouting match. Haven't we had the Wenger is idiot for not re-signing Cesc 'debate' countless times?

Remember when Bayern's officials were talking in public about Bayern joining Serie A because there's no competition in the Bundesliga?

Why didn't you just do that?

:lol Sounds like something Beckenbauer said.

But yeah, I definitely remember something like this.

still bitter about Real?

I'm doing my sabbatical year after Dortmund killed our players. I don't want arguments. But I respect your opinion.

Burley could do with a hug.

If I only knew what a / where Burley is.... apart from seeing their name (for whatever reason) next to the Chelsea scoreline of course...

mh Liverpool ? the Dortmund of England.. dunno if I like
United? the natural fit, but it's more fun to laugh at them and I couldnt take LVG for a second time
Chelsea? nope I cant... though Mou... hm... maybe a little bit
Arsenal? I don't think my heart could take it.
City? LOL

guess I should start reading up on Burley ;)

but why am a even talking about the teams?

PoolGAF? I think I actually like them and they sound more and more like us Bayern fans? Only up 1-0? WE ARE DOOMED. Spending 101m on transfers? NEED Falcao! Lucas? SELL HIM. I could see myself feeling right at home.

UnitedGAF? GreatGAF but the team.. I just cant.

ArsenalGAF? Is there even one?

ChelseaGAF? The demon's of our past.

I dunno m8
probably some soft admin who cant take the #bantz decided to "punish" me
, but good riddance. Always hated that nonsensical tag I didn't even deserve to get.

Time for United to fulfill their potential as the Tampa Bay Bucs of the EPL.

The difference is the Glazers put competent (more like semi competent) people in charge down in Florida to run the football side of things. They've spent a ton of money in recent years on players and brought in a quality coach/front office. Woodward is clueless and needs to be put out of his misery and have a director of football brought in. It's probably different Glazers running United.
