brilliant performance by city. the scorline could make it seem like a narrow win, but really it was a completely authoritative display.

Chelsea were almost fully bullied in that second half, really didn't expect that. Chelsea fans must have been screaming for Pedro sooner.

About what I expected, tbh. Played a very demanding game on Wednesday, knew we'd clog the midfield and play it like we did against Spurs. Without Morata's clinical finish on what few chances we created and with the team running out of gas, I'm not going to lose any sleep over an 0-1 scoreline. My main concern is Morata's health, hopefully he can return after the international break.

Impressive how City kept up that high pressure all the way through. Chelsea simply couldn't get through it.

Didn't help of course that there was no one to kick the ball up to. Costa was amazing at just getting the ball stuck to him and holding it up, and while Morata isn't as good at it, he is capable. But as soon as he went out there was no options of long goal kicks and such. Hazard is still a failed experiment up front, just like it was under Mou. Willian was fucking horrible all the way through, can hardly remember anything he did well.

I also don't like how much Kante recently finds himself wide. He is fantastic in the middle, but seems like with Cesc and Bakayoko, he runs around far more all the way out wide, where he can't do much at all.

Christensen and Rudiger impresses though.

When you have Kane & Lukaku instead of any of the other premium strikers

Griezmann time, baby

Edit: Scary stuff going on in the Lille game. Toure goes to celebrate his goal, & the fence holding back the fans collapses, leading to a bunch of people falling over. Reported injuries & people being stretchered off.

Horrible to see :(

Terrible performance. City were way better. Morata injury didn't help. Willian was shit. Rudiger and Christensen were damn good. Bakayoko also sucked.

City's defense was outstanding today without Kompany/Mendy.

Stones has made a lot of strides from last season and Delph has looked strong at left back. Otamendi is still a twat tho lol

Otamendi is still a twat tho lol

That free kick he gave near the end was so fucking stupid. Complete control over the situation and gives Chelsea a freekick in a very dangerous position, by going through some player, being well on his way to running it out of play anyway. Luckily for both him and Stones, City right now have a great setup for having CB's that don't need to be all that good defending CB's.

Well played City. Best team won.

We looked half a yard off the pace for everything and when Morata came off we never looked like winning.

Ah well after Wednesday I am not too unhappy.

Nobody will rate them even if they beat them lol.

I will. United at the moment remind me of City last year. Doing well and banging them in and mixing it up at the top of the league but they haven't been playing the best quality football against average/poor teams. Last season City looked like they were imitating Pep's previous clubs rather than having their own identity and feels the same this year with United but with Mou. When City came up against the first decent team (chelsea) they reacted poorly and that continued on from there. If United can come away on a positive and hold themselves well after playing decent teams then they are certain candidates for the top, mentality goes a long way in the Prem and quality matters less so, just look at Leicester they played shit football and won the league.

Personally I think we're looking so much good better than last year. He set the foundations and now he's hit them ticking along nicely, much like pep at city. It's a different way of playing but everyone knows that just from the 2 managers styles.

It's just do nice to see us banging goals in even if they aren't against the top teams, even in the last 10 minutes when they don't count. We couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo last season and we've been shit in front of goal for too long.

21 in 7 games with just 2 conceded. Compared to 54 in 38 last year. 6 more goals and we're halfway to last year's total with 3/4 of the season left.

Last year we rarely looked like getting beaten, we had Mous standard defence, we just couldn't buy a goal. He's at least fixed that so far.

Even if he parks the bus against top teams, the importing thing will be how they react after those games if/when we lose.

Martial and Rashford keep doing well, Miki and Mata are chipping in and Lukaku just keeps scoring. Consistently.

About fucking time.

Anyone see that Townsend nutmeg on MoTD? I think it's Rashford who does him and instead of chasing he just walks off in a huff. Never seen anything like it.

so shinji kagawa now is the japanese player with the most goals in BL of all time beating shinji okazaki. congrats you deserve it. kagawa seems to get sidelined nowadays but he sure delivers when he is on the pitch
I'm starting to believe the hype about this Guardiola guy. Seems to know what he's doing.

its a tight race between united and city this season. tottenham, liverpool, chelsea and arsenal are a bit behind already but nothing impossible.

bayern seems to favor tuchel now. he has been spotted on his way to munich (maybe for 1860?). bayern x tuchel seems to be an unholy alliance to me. if you look what he achieved in dortmund you can only imagine what he will do with more money and better players. after all he was the one that made dembele, a 15 million transfer into a 150 million transfer and mkhitaryan, a player that was considered a flop in dortmund, into a world class player.

his reactions to the terror incident were reasonable and i dont understand to this day why they fired tuchel. i am certain that he would not have lost 3:1 against tottenham and real.

You think he’ll get along with Rummenigge?

Rummenigge is not the problem, he wants Tuchel.
Hoeness is the one that prefers Nagelsmann.
Tuchel is a german version of Pep, not only in playstyle but in character.
But honestly, a guy with principle and idea is exactly what the club needs at the moment.
