So I have a general question here, and I hope I don't get EDIT: OSTRACIZED for it:

are there specific things to NEVER do that will result in getting EDIT: OSTRACIZED ?

-If you're a conservative, either realize that this is not a Fox news show where you can spout spurious horsecrap without backing yourself up or just stay out of political threads altogether. Honestly, I wish we had some honest conservatives who don't just mindlessly toe the party line and parrot talking points, but that seems to be all we get and they get banned for not being able to accept that reality and the world they live in are not quite the same thing.

no, I just think that Boogie is a true conservative, you know, the kind that would rather incremental change over drastic change, the kind that prefers to hold onto what work rather than try something new. In fact I see a lot of conservatism in the current Democratic party, not that this is a surpise, after you have run congress for 40 years it's not surprising that most of your agendas ahve been met and now it's just s struggle to hold onto them, in other words, a fight against change. Here's how to avoid OSTRACIZATION from Drinky Crow (outside of specific ToS violations, if/when I choose to enforce 'em):

1. Don't derail a thread by talking about a poster to the exclusion of his/her posts in that thread. It's a pet peeve of mine that I'm gonna start to enforce in the more extreme cases, although I usually let posts critical of me slide because I probably encouraged it at some point.

2. Don't launch into direct personal attacks on other posters. A few insults slung about in the context of a thread is fine, but when the attacks turn independent of the thread or degenerate into forum stalking: BYE BYE. This is how we fertilize the fields of Opa Ages, in most cases.

3. Don't take the bait. When a mod says they will ban you if you post a specific item or phrase in a thread, they usually mean it -- and it's usually designed to bring out forum crusaders. Bite your tongue. We're testing you.

4. Don't be a forum crusader, period. You can't win, and martyrs are quickly forgotten.

5. Don't be from IGN. Seriously. olimario is enough IGN refuse for ANY forum.
