For buyers of Nintendo Switch 2, the rest of the consumer base needs one thing form you…

The Nintendo Switch 2 launches next week on June 5th. For the buyers of NS2, we need you to try out your NS1 games on the system and let everyone know how those games function.

We know, Nintendo stated there is no issue with first party titles on the NS2. So, assuming that is true. Check your 3rd party titles and tell us how they run. I do not believe Nintendo is fully checking the 15k 3rd party titles on NS1. Just starting up the software and running for a few minutes.

How do your 3rd party titles run? Games like Witcher, Skyrim, FIFA, Monster Hunter or MLB the Show, etc. Let's see how the software actually performs.

Please try them out so 3rd parties can quickly resolve issues going forward and provide updates to their software.

You got it. Tears of the Kingdom is the one I'm most looking forward to seeing on Switch 2. Should be a big improvement.

Load times will be interesting too. Internal storage will probably be faster than an SSD card. Bought an SSD for it, so I'll try that out too.

I do what I want.
Happy Birthday Flames GIF

I am personally curious about games like MLB the Show, Skyrim, Mario RPG, Octopath games, etc.

Some newer games have unlocked Framerates. Games like MH Rise, and Echoes of Wisdom. I am curious if both are automatically 60fps on NS2?

I am still pissed that they lock higher res textures and higher frame rates for both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom behind a paywall.

Sorry OP, I don't really plan on playing anything besides BOTW, TOTK, and TWW.

Free with NSO which is how I'll be replaying them because I gotta get a new playthrough of The Wind Waker in.

I will instantly try Bayonetta 3 for sure. I legit stopped my playthrough and am waiting for the Switch 2 to finish the game.

it won't help with the weird manually hard coded dynamic resolution, but it probably will lock it to 60fps

Alan Wake: Remastered - The game launches, but has incompatibility issues.

Final Fantasy - The game has problems launching.

NieR Automata: The End of YoRHa Edition - The game has problems launching.

Fall Guys - The game launches, but has incompatibility issues.

Alien Isolation - The game launches, but has incompatibility issues.

Rocket League - The game has problems launching.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection - The game launches, but has incompatibility issues.

Mega Man Legacy Collection - The game launches, but has incompatibility issues.

Dead by Deadlight - The game has problems launching.

I have the Japanese physical editions of Megaman X, and that edition is fortunate enough to have the Japanese intro to Megaman x4. I'll try it when I get the Nintendo Switch 2.

If I own the game I'll try it out, but I don't have a huge number of Switch 1 games

Are you going to try TotK unpatched, then patched, then with the Switch 2 update? It would be cool if possible.

Nier Automata doesn't even boot up apparently 😤😡

Nintendo and SE better fix this quick

Aside from the already announced patches, I will be trying these:
Splatoon 3
Mario & Luigi Brothership (some performance issues)
Octopath Traveler II (inconsistent performance)
Zelda Echoes of Wisdom (very inconsistent performance)
Hyrule Warriors AoC (crap performance)
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (I heard it has dynamic resolution, so hopefully crisper on S2)

I have the El Shaddai game.

That game isn't a good edition because of the frame rate, which is 25 fps or less... And I seriously doubt it will improve.

How is it possible that Hyrule Warriors doesn't play well, when it's a Nintendo and Koei Tecmo game? That game should, by law, have good performance.

I fully intend to look at a bunch of games. My Switch collection is over 400, so I can test out a fair number of games.

My uncle works for Nintendo, he said every game will run at 4k 60FPS

I'll give the non-updated versions of BotW/TotK and Echoes of Wisdom a go for sure.

I'll probably test more stuff, but I'm not sure I'd even be able to notice any difference for stuff like Mario Odyssey that already runs 60fps, albeit with dynamic res. I don't think I'd be able to tell if it's 900p or 1080p, for example.

Not your personal Digital Foundry, OP

Yoshi's Crafted World should look better on Switch 2. The dynamic resolution in this can go down to like 396p in portable mode.

Yeah, TWW. Now in glorious 4:3, 30fps and with beautiful borders on the side with your profile icon (which you can't remove).

Now that I think about it, maybe the games that are having issues will force the publisher/developer to not only "fix" the game but also upgrade it to look and run much better on Switch 2 hardware. Basically give the games free Switch 2 upgrades...🤔

I understand. I'll just wait till Nintendo gives a F and puts out a 60fps version without ugly ass borders with profile icons.

Life is to short too waste on inferior versions.

They gated it behind Wii U lol

Through not sure we are ever getting 60 I think the game is built around 30 and needs some kind of full remake to get 60. Like it would break physics or animations or something.

i want to try Pokemon Violet. Much maligned but I enjoyed it a lot, particularly compared to SwSh. Since it's having a patch I take 60fps should be guaranteed and I think that should be enough to see the game with other eyes.

Well they took said Koei Tecmo team and forced them to use the BotW engine without the help of the wizards at Monoloith Soft. So you have AoC running like garbage while Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition runs 1080p 60fps.

Right, the patch for Switch 2 is amazing. It's running at a solid 60 fps on the non-120 hz HDMI input I have on my monitor. Load times are a few seconds. Ultrahand lag is gone.

The upgrade is worth more than $10 and is the only way to play this game now. There I said it.
