And while it's not a poll option, how is the difficulty when it comes to the standard missions and basic enemies? When playing on the hardest difficulty, what do people think of the game so far? Is this the first true souls-like F2P title, or is it missing something that's found in the better titles of the genre?

Currently have 12 bosses under my belt on Legend difficulty and it's about on par with what I'd expect from Souls difficulty if you're keeping up with your upgrades and gear progression.

If you're worried that it'll be too hard you can always turn it down. Just keep in mind you can't select Legend again after the initial startup.

I've been watching some streamers play on lower difficulties and it just seems like a different experience. No shade to those that want an easier time through the game but I enjoy the feeling of surmounting difficult challenges and bosses so Legend has been perfect for me.

So far 100% everything on Legend and I'm noticing that the longer we have to wait for each brealthrough (this time it was 8 days), the easier it gets since we got more time to do all the optional stuff and build up the vertical upgrade stuff

Absolutely brain-dead choice by the devs, along with limiting people to one character.
I think it makes sense when you consider the boss counter at the bottom of the screen in that mode. They want to make sure anyone who's claiming to have only played on Legend has only played on Legend. I think it's a cool idea, personally. Maybe they should allow people to go to that difficulty without the counter on their screen, though.

The developers also recently announced their intent to allow people to have more than one character, so at least they're recognizing that it's an issue they'd like to fix.
