Amazing job from Mercedes, well done. Do we know anything about the race pace yet?
Ferrari is much closer on race pace fortunately.
Im hoping the rain mixes things up a bit!

Great job by Hamilton. Bottas scored the second position, which was kind of a surprise.Roo bad he will lost 5 positions.
I think that now Hamilton have a pole positions in all tracks of the current F1 calendar.
Half a second over red Bull yeah. They have nothing. That's what the comms said Christian Horner told them
Ferrari is closer on supersofts, but behind on softsFerrari is much closer on race pace fortunately.

They only run the car in quali mode in Q3.
Q1/2 is essentially the race mode.
Because can poodle around in q1 and don't have to try?
What exactly is it you want? Only one engine mode? Because most teams profuse 6 in the race.
It's not like Ferrari isn't capable of the same.I hate the Merc qualy mode, I really wish they would find a way to stop people tuning up engines over one lap.
So how come the two teams with qualy modes find more time between Q1 and Q2 than all the other people?

(Feel free to look up other races, this is not an anomoly)
There is a good .4s more in that engine between Q1 and Q2, a bit less for the red team, but they have a similar result.
It's not like Ferrari isn't capable of the same.
I think youre forgetting that the drivers, especially in Ferrari and Mercedes, drive to a delta in Q1/Q2 because going all-out is pointless.
Both Kimi and Lewis were asking their engineer during the session what the cut off was. They drive to beat that time, nothing more.
No point risking everything or wearing the engine down on magic mode if its not required.
They find all that time in Q2 just from a little more effort.
RBR drivers are the same, yet they find .4s less.
So they'll be okay in Austin but maybe not Mexico or Brazil. They're lucky Abu Dhabi is at night.Lauda saying when the Mercedes is slower it's related to the rears overheating in tracks with high track temps
But its F1 and all teams are looking to find those sort of advantages. For how many seasons did Red Bull have wings with springs in them? McLaren had DRS before there was DRS. The list is endless.Ideally I would love just one engine mode, less complicated engines, more equality. Yep, would love that to bits.

Qualy is boring as fuck due to this.

There's forced engine parity in that sport, is there not?IndyCar has engine modes LOL
Renault are the ones that don't. Honda already run at 1500bhp so have no need for a magic mode. But all others arent.

Lewis smash! A good getaway and it's looking good for the mercs, just need bottas to cut through the beginning and put some pressure on vettel.

So, what happened to the "Ferrari is the faster car" folks?
Kimi to light his engine on fire and limp through the racing line.So what you're saying is that instead of sprinklers they should add asphalt heating to all the tracks?
Commutator said that both Ferrari and the Merc customers have the mode available. But seriously, I think not even the customer Mercs or Ferraris have that mode available to them.
Boring race, but Fukuzumi won the GP3 feature race at Jerez. Nice pass by Alesi for 8th place and reverse grid pole for the sprint race.
Maybe Vettel will do to Ham what Ham did to Rosberg into T1/2.Hamilton could have done with bottles on the front row - Ferraris have had strong starts and first couple of laps and that could still see Vettel getting ahead of Hamilton. Whats Suzuka like for overtaking?
So, what happened to the "Ferrari is the faster car" folks?
Generally really hard as it's an older track so quite narrow.Whats Suzuka like for overtaking?

Palmer replaced by Sainz next race according to Autosport.
Any bets on whether or not Vettel gets to overtake Hamilton in a 1:1 fight?
Hes not an amazing driver, but they really have treated him like shit with all this.
