Well, he did go to Haas for a chance at Ferrari so at least your first point is a great qualifier.Grosjean really can do only two things:
- Whine FM
- crash

I hate the Merc qualy mode, I really wish they would find a way to stop people tuning up engines over one lap.
Have only one engine mode for the dry is the only way. And there no way it'll happen.I hate the Merc qualy mode, I really wish they would find a way to stop people tuning up engines over one lap.

Nah it's still Q2, that's just Ham
I dont get this opinion - Ferrari has this too.
Also, Hamilton didnt use it for Q2.
I have no idea why Mercedes always does 2 runs in Q2. Ferrari and Red Bull often park it and save a set of tyres.
They have literally no need to do so, and doing so takes more out of the engine. They'll use it when required only.Yeah they turn it up for Q2 too.
Ferrari also has a qualifying mode, albeit not as effective. Red Bull is completely without such a mode. It looks squarely between Hamilton and Vettel this qualifying.

I guess Sky is wrong then when they say customer teams onlyget it in Q3. And Hamilton is always just so much faster between Q1 and Q2.
Difference was like 0.02 s or something, hard to plan this...McLaren are a lunch of idiots. Why not let stoffel in front of Alonso allowing him to try gain more places on the grid since Alonso already has a penalty?
1:27.3. Ouch
Have you considered that Merc can run at 7 in q1, 9 in q2 and 11 in q3? The car is just fast.
How mucb quicker was Hamilton over Vettel?
Could be worse, could be Räikkönen.Bottas has been a truly useless No.2 driver in quali.

Half a second.

Half a second.
I have considered that Merc has more than one mode they run seperately in each qualifying.
I have not stated their car isnt fast, I have also not said Lewis isnt quick, just to get ahead of that one.
How often was it much more than a half a second?Which isn't that much when you consider that magic qualifying boost button is worth up to half a a second.

I feel like your argument essentially boils down to I wish Mercedes werent so good at their job.

The car has never been terrible. It's mostly the engine. If you are a team/driver that qualifies behind a McLaren then you need to have a long hard look at yourselves.

Sure thing buddy.
