Forspoken TGS Trailer

Hell no.

Shit writting, meh character design, traversal that looks more flashy than fun/engaging and the same goes for the combat. Aren't there too much particles? For a third person action game I'd say beibg able to see shit is important.

And whoever did the monster design deserves somethign bad. Hemorrhoids, for example.

Don't get the appeal, to me this looks like the later AssCreed games, but with magic and cringe writting.

What a weird game. The worst of Final Fantasy mixed with the absolute trash of current American entertainment. Would be a huge surprise if the game turns out any good.

Haters be damned, this game will be awesome!

Looks very good. Fun gameplay with cool magic and traversal. Not day 1 but it will land in my PS5 someday.

Interesting that there are no important male characters. I guess I'm just not the target audience. Fights could be quite nice though.

How many of you guys saying "it sounds much better in Japanese" actually speak/know Japanese?

Reason I ask is because if you are proficient in Japanese you'll have noticed they have actually added a bit of "sass" to the way the main character talks even in Japanese (especially from 0:16 to 0:21). If it's like that for the whole game I would get irritated pretty quickly. I found it quite annoying but I'll agree it's at least better than the English and definitely better than the typical screechy anime-style female Japanese characters so I'll take it (still not buying it though, looks boring as fuck).
weeb

Magic can look pretty outrageous even messy on screen, but this game looks like it can very easily turn out to be quite good, possibly even amazing depending on your tastes. My mentality basically since last year was to take a very old school elementary through high school level of open mindedness into my assessment of all sorts of games, not just writing them off right away based on a few things not viewing all things as perfect. Ignoring how cheesy some lines can come off in their delivery, the raw game itself really doesn't look bad. It's never really looked bad, just messy or chaotic from a combat standpoint. You don't really know though how it all feels until you actually experience it, and how more challenging AI will push the player. But it definitely looks to me like it has something, enough to not entirely write it off. The enemies look pretty amazing, traversal just plain looks cool as hell and fun, and I'm genuinely interesting in how the story goes.

I'm also personally a big fan of the black female lead. That's a positive for me.

This looks so completely and utterly uninspired I am surprised it isn't an Ubisoft title.

there aren't nearly enough UI elements telling you exactly what to do on screen, while 20 Ubisoft Connect pop-ups tell you you unlocked the Altaïr and Ezio outfit because you played AC1 and 2...

only then would it be a true Ubisoft game.

...but yeah, I too am not impressed

Could they overdue it on the particle effects any more? Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD. Every magic effect is a complete mess.

I have no issues worth the protagonist, etc. The gameplay just doesn't look very well thought out. It reminds me of a tech demo.

Looks boring as fuck, put it on PS plus premium and I probs still wouldn't be arsed to play it.

It's weird, the game seems to be downgraded? I think it's odd that all the characters are ladies, is there a lore reason for this? The faces just look incredibly odd, they have really stiff animations. I usually support Square Enix games, but I'll take a wait and see position on this.

too bad such a pretty game with fun looking gameplay is wasted on such a shit story/main female lead. Anyone else just sick to death of all these female leads? Enough already.

Honestly this probably could have been great if they had an entirely different script. SoP did the very edgy other world thing and did it very very well while still making it entertaining. This is doing the exact opposite. Should have just kept her as part of this world at all times, never speak in tween/zoomer, and focused on the gameplay and otherworldly eLementS.

Never thought I'd miss Lightning. But I'll take "ice queen with zero personality" over "gen z influencer constantly trying to show how witty and relatable she is" any day.

There is nothing wrong with female leads, my problem here is they are going for shitty Marvel humour, even if the MC was male still wouldn't make that writing any better.

There isn't. In fact. Some of my favorite games of all time have them as leads/my all time fav characters. But it's just feeling forced now.

To me it doesn't matter if the character female or male or any race, its all about if I like the character or not.

I mean even if Forspoken MC was male and still act same way then I still wouldn't like him, so to me it has nothing to with gender or race.
