Been playing red vs Blue team LTM leveled up a couple of levels last night. unless you grind a ungodly amount of hours it's gonna take a while to get enough battle stars to unlock everything.

Based on a reddit post I skimmed, they tweaked the Epic and Legendary Quests to award more XP while the rest have had their XP amounts lowered, all in relation to last season.

Thank the heavens lol. last season was a pain to grind lmao. was gonna be level 34 until the server's/services started to act up now. btw did you win the victory umbrella yet? tempted but got flashbacks to last season when I had to complete 7 failed squad matches to get the foundation one.

S6 was fine IMO, it was S5 that was painful for me with really low XP for everything. S2's Golden Agent Peely was completely silly due to the level requirement, something like level 330 IIRC.

I haven't put that much time into it yet, so I'm saving my impressions for until I have a better grasp of things. But to be clear, I haven't gotten the umbrella yet, haven't even cleared every unexplored part of the map, lol. Currently level 10

I did fly the UFOs in empty areas maybe three times for a brief spell but they're definitely a fun addition!

S5 had a great BP with shitty XP, it was incredibly stingy. Whoever decided that needs to get one pumped by a Lever Action Shotgun for the rest of this season lol.

Fortnite might be the only game I've seen that has its past few OTs tinged with thinly-veiled disdain: ("story", "skin talk", "licensed Marvel shovelware" etc.).

I was always under the impression that the OTs should be informative and somewhat celebratory of the game in question, primarily about helping anyone who comes in to appreciate the game unless it's unsalvageable trash.

Gripes and negative observations can always be posted later as replies, instead of priming anyone who starts from the first post with negativity.

If you do want to level up the BP this season make sure you clear the Legendary Quests before they expire each week. You can "crunch" the Epic Quests later on for that adrenaline rush.

Just woke up, first game. Got 5 kills, the 5th stole his UFO, final battle against crazy box builder. Victory. I'll have to visit some forums, the sweats must be demanding a nerf. Like you said hilarious. But little shits have had it easy in last few seasons.

There's also a hilarious bit where a Dire W keys into his box and Sypher calls him a madman only to lose the scramble.

Only thing he didn't explore and demonstrate is whether the targeting laser can be obscured. In Splatoon the Charger class of weapons have a targeting laser as well; pro play tends to involve concealing the laser until it's too late for the target.

It's a shame the mobile and Switch versions exist to be honest. I'd imagine you could do a lot more in terms of physics and stuff that would probably tank the portable versions.

I have pondered about the concept of the portable versions holding back Fortnite before but ultimately I don't think that's the case.

Physics is tied to CPU, which isn't what last gen was good at to begin with and if they reaaaally wanted to push it in terms of simulations I suspect they'd have been better off keeping it at 30fps instead of the 60fps update (which was when I wasn't into Fortnite yet).

Still, I remain impressed that it runs fairly well on Switch these days, they've actually optimized the crap out of it after letting us suffer for almost ten seasons.

I mean, they have the *ahem* FULL FAT UFO experience on Switch at the moment, picking and flinging trash and all that

Yeah, been too busy grinding that just haven't had time to test them out. though they look fun to drive! and big facts! season 5 was unbearable to grind for xp kinda why I stop playing it as much after I maxed out my BP.

It's the one thing that Fortnite has 'license' to excel in (destructible + interactible objects and not being as restricted by verisimilitude) relative to the other BRs and it's good to see Epic leaning more into its strengths.

However, looking at how they were able to implement UFOs makes me annoyed that they didn't make the Raptors rideable/do more in the previous season.

Imagine after taming them as steeds, then feeding them Chillis for speed, Fireflies for fire-breathing and Stinkfish so they can belch acid clouds.

Wasted opportunity and I wanna believe Epic knows it too.

The data miners have already found another Thanos-sized character model. Could be Darksied for DC, which would also tie into JL on HBO in March.

So yea Thanos is probably going to be chunky, just not as chunky as the one we got to use in the LTM.

Not a problem since his cape always had a life of its own and is more or less a symbiote in Marvel terms lol. Would surely be a better BB than Venom's.

I have a 30 percent win rate this season.

Is the game less fun because winning is too easy?

Are the UFOs not ideal because they allow teammates to do their own thing?

Do I hope Epic adds counters to the game soon?

Yea alternating/rotating teams sure sounds possible. Then again Mustard is the Chief Creative Officer, though I'm not sure what that entails. Maybe he was too busy drawing Batman covers :/

For me the entirety of the last season could be summed up by the Spire Jumpboots and Coral Castle: wasted potential.

You might have noticed I keep harping on Coral Castle. They added fishing spots there last season but were glitchy as fuck; half the time if you used a fishing rod it'd just 'cancel' your bait and this season it's still not fixed, Harpoon Guns worked fine but they weren't a guaranteed drop last season (Scuba Jonesy didn't sell them either FFS) and they're gone this season.

Coconuts seem to roll downhill with greater enthusiasm and never float, so once they roll into the water it's over. At times knocking them off a tree is just a waste of time because I can't even collect/consume them. So I'm not at all surprised that based on leaks, Coral Castle will get destroyed by aliens this season and become a new POI. Epic has basically given up and said fuck it.
