Hi everyone. I tried real hard to do this myself, but it turns out I'm rubbish with GIMP. I just want this guy on a transparency:

I'm looking at the GIMP window right now, and I've added a transparency layer and deleted the background and then sized it down and then wrote it out to a JPG. It's on a transparency according to Windows Photo Viewer or whatever, but showed up in my first post on white.
Anyone have any tips or can just knock out the background for me?

You need to save as .png rather than a .jpg for transparency.

i have a question. I made this PNG picture with the invisible background. but when I use it as my avatar on gaf it shows a white background. any idea whats wrong?
Width is showing as 110 pix
GAF limit is 100 x 120
I see! I thought GAF scales it automatically! Thanks
GAF does. It's just doesn't maintain transparency when it does.
