Is this roughly what you're after? (The hair specifically) if so I can cut the orange off or whatever works best for you

I can't get it to work - when I remove the background myself and save it as a png it still becomes white when I upload it here :/

Use the .png filetype

You can't just use any old filetype, for example .jpeg files don't support transparency.

I'm sure I had a jpeg as a transparent avatar once, but if it doesn't work then ignore what I say lol

You probably just had a background that was the same colour as the page it was displayed on or something similar, easy mistake to make

.png isn't the only option - you can have transparent .gifs too (for example

) but generally .png is your best bet especially for making little avatars like this

Could a kind soul add transparency to this image of mine?, i tried and did it myself, but i use it as an avatar and it loses the transparency effect for some odd reason.
