I know this is the third time I've asked for an avatar but I haven't been able to find something that I like. Again, I'd really appreciate any assistance on these avatars. Let it be said that those of you who do this for those of us who suck at Photoshop are totally awesome. With these two images I would like all of the background taken out with transparent backgrounds in its place. I would also like at least one image for each to contain the entire character and not just a close up or medium shot. Thanks again to the person who does this for me. You're a truly awesome human being. Cheers.

I tried to make this picture my avatar, downloaded the picture,scaled it and saved. But as you can see, the picture is transparent, but my avatar is not. I don't know what I am missing. And the picture I edited is also transparent outside "Neogaf avatar dimension".

BTW, I am using GIMP due to being in work, if that's worth of mentioning

The following image is transparent, but if i use the link to upload it as an avatar, the background becomes white. I'm going to guess this is because the uploader resizes it and makes the background white?

If so, can anyone resize it to avatar size so I can upload it without the white background? (As you can see, I'm already using it, but it has a white background )

EDIT: Seems I fixed it myself by using abload.de resizer (I used 100x100). Could anyone tell me if it's OK and not too blurry etc? Also, did I use the correct way to resize it or does abload.de end up with a slight quality loss or something?

Just remember to save and upload the image as a .png, not .jpg. Also if the image is larger than 100Wx120H px the forum will resize it and you'll lose the transparency.

Solved, thanks. It was 101x101, the mistake of an amateur.
