lol wtf you are talking about.
The shadows are much higher resolution after you take a pic in GT5. Those horrible shadows cant be smoothed just by downsampling. The same for the blocky reflections.
You sure?

This thread has become a parody of itself.
You sure?
Turn10 does not manufacture accessories, true.
What is yout point? Its even worse in the "raw" picture.
Do you think PD does?
They are higher resolution, obviously, because the whole image was rendered at insane resolution (actually is rendered several times in sections each at very high resolutions) than downsampled. That affects everything.lol wtf you are talking about.

Wrong. They can, and they are. Why do you think photomode doesn't totally fix the alpha effects yet improves them? Because they are even lower resolution than the shadows. Those horrible shadows cant be smoothed just by downsampling. The same for the blocky reflections.
Fucking obviously. I never said otherwise. The final result of the GT5 pics are not RAW images of GT5 in-game engine.
The higher poly model is rendered in real time, at all times, in GT5, and not just the sub 30 fps Photo mode. Post processing exists in Forza though.it does much more post processing than FM4 ones, which does not besides the higher resolution. The higher poly model is rendered by the engine in real-time, so does the shadows, and all the camera effects.
Same with Forza photomode. You don't see everything you see in the final pic in real time. Don't kid yourself. You only see those GT5 pics in the image itself. Never in real-time, even in the photomode.
I'm not even sure it's worse, but dude, 60FPS vs photomode. And a supersampled image with the same relative shadow resolution will make the shadow be better :/
No racing game will ever have a soundtrack equal or better than Dirt 2.
You are not sure? Are you blind? the raw picture will be a sharp and blocky horrible shadow. Of course its worse.
Even so, if PD never generates those better shadow resolutions, it is even worse for them.

Must have been really forgettable lol.
Yes! As awesome as Forza menu music is this is still the best. If it starts I just can't do anything but look at cars.
Forza's music is slow, but epic. Forza 3. Forza 4.
I still haven't gotten over how bad some songs in Forza 2 were. LCD Soundsystem is probably the only band I truly hate because no, Daft Punk is not playing in my house please stop reminding me with crappy music T.T
That depends on the car though in Forza 4. Not all interiors are at the same quality.
Which has better menu music?

And after all that, your initial claim was about model swaps, those don't happen. But you transitioned this into a "real time photo mode before taking a pic is better in Forza than it is in GT5" claim, to which I say... who gives a fuck? When you go into a photomode what matters is... you know, the fucking photo.
How cute are you GT sisters. Always trolling together. So, GT5 has better real-time racing graphics and better photo mode photos but Forza looks better in 30fps pre-photo photo mode than GT5 does in (60fps?) pre-photo photo mode. Congrats! I agree with you, pre-photo photo mode is my favorite part of these games, too -- glad Turn10 put so much effort into it.
That track was also in NFS IV High Stakes and Gran Turismo 3.Best menu music ever for me is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOENdjZpVmU
Test Drive 5. Actually the whole OST is the best ever. It's been like 15 years and I still love it!
Sub 30fps photo mode? wtf is this? You know that you can access photomode anytime in Forza, while in GT5 just in the "30fps" replays, right? lol
I just realized something.
take forza horizon,
enter the garage.
change car -> car showcase
easily on par with gt5 photo travel mode as most realistic real time rendering of a car.
yes, aluminum rims and tires are still slightly off but man, if t10 can match that kind of lighting ingame for their next forza it will look unbelievable.
Really shows it's all in the lighting.
it's a shame you can't take pics there, although a direct feed grab would do, since IQ is almost perfect anyway.
The "real time" you were talking about, while trying to grasp for straws so that you could say Forza does something better, the pre-photo section, is running at sub 30fps. It's the same in GT too. Pulling more "effects" there, even though you were wrong about most of them, is about as meaningless as to the framerate on a main menu.Sub 30fps photo mode? wtf is this? But you said that in a reply regarding models, which kinda of implied you were saying it did swap models.I have said nothing about swaping models. I've said GT5 swaps a lot of things in the final image, it never does it in real-time.
Aren't you a classy fellow. How cute are you GT sisters. Always trolling together.
PD should allow photomode while racing in GT6 though, it's just silly limiting it to replays
Not much different from the pre-race in FM4.I just realized something.

I have a feeling it was part of a streamlining process for the sake of ram in GT5. It still bothers me now that in GT5 I have to wait and play back X minutes of race before I can get to the moment I want to photograph, and it feels incredibly clunky for it, but I can't imagine that problem being present in GT6 unless Polyphony somehow hasn't cracked the puzzle (which I doubt).
My pics are clearing showing shadows and stuff. I'm always objective in my points. The "real time" you were talking about, while trying to grasp for straws so that you could say Forza does something better, the pre-photo section, is running at sub 30fps. It's the same in GT too. Pulling more "effects" there, even though you were wrong about most of them, is about as meaningless as to the framerate on a main menu.
Oh and btw, it being "30fps" replays is also meaningless, it's using the same assets as the gameplay 60fps mode, something you cannot say about Forza.
But you said that in a reply regarding models, which kinda of implied you were saying it did swap models.
Aren't you a classy fellow.
We should have a photo contest.
Hell yes!
Objectively biased while trying to pretend you're not. And be clearer next time. If I knew the point you were trying to make was so... pointless I wouldn't have bothered. My pics are clearing showing shadows and stuff. I'm always objective in my points.
Are you being a joke character on purpose now? The pic with bad compression was irony, the video with low volume (turn up your speakers ffs) still managed to show both games had the same type of dynamic tire squeal. If you think I actively searched for one with low volume you're an idiot.you'll not see me whinning about picture compression, and right away post a really bad compression picture. Neither post a video where the guy recorded the Forza sounds at 30% of its volume. lol.
GT does not add AA in replays.hm? replays uses the same assets as gameplay (if you are meaning car models). Its adds AA, motion blur to the gameplay cameras and dof for replay cameras. Same things as GT5 minus the motion blur in gameplay cameras.
The Forza brothers have gone quiet.
Not much different from the pre-race in FM4.
I have a suggestion for a twist, and hear me out but feel free to say "oh heck no."
How about a photo contest for who can get the worst image of a full vehicle, in whatever game we prefer?
Like, clunkiest, most out-of-place, cruddiest-looking car we can manage? Still all in-frame, but just rubbish in almost every other way. Thoughts?
You never explained why you thought that Forza Horizon pic was a photomode pic
Because I have the game and it doesn't look like that. (Not to mention the strange angle that the car was at).
Because I have the game and it doesn't look like that. (Not to mention the strange angle that the car was at).
Oh well. I just don't remember it looking that blurry. It's like someone smeared vaseline on the screenshot.
I guess it's slightly off topic but i feel like i enjoy Horizon for what it is but when i feel like playing some racin' games I'd rather play the real thing than diet Forza. The social stuff is really well done though, it's neat seeing what my friends have done.
I see you just managed to shift from suggesting the image quality looked too good to be real-time to "it looks like someone smeared Vaseline on it." You also lied, and claimed specifically that it was clearly from photo mode. You weren't simply mistaken, you made something up because it looked too good, and now you're griping like the wolf who can't reach the grapes, saying "they must be sour anyway."
Hold on a second. I claimed it was a photomode picture because the lighting looked different to what I usually see during gameplay. Nothing to do with the sharpness.
Oh well. I just don't remember it looking that blurry. It's like someone smeared vaseline on the screenshot.
Looks much sharper on TV.
So you just said something that made no sense, then, right? And now the lighting looks too good to be gameplay, even though it "looks like shit"? Please clarify.
