I really need some way to compare hdr vs non hdr. I was lead to believe hdr is a bigger difference then 4k but... I can't tell the difference.
I can't tell the difference between hdr and non hdr. At least not from memory. Played the demo in non hdr now playing the full game in hdr and it looks great but it doesn't really look any different than I remember. Comparing directly would be really handy. You can't tell the difference between hdr and non-hdr or what can't you tell the difference between ... what?
Don't know if it got posted in here. This supposed screenshot looks stunning.
How's dat HDR?
Impulsor said:It looks washed out compared to the demo. Some. Scenes look better but most of them do not. At least to me.Oh, not what I wanted to read. What about the HDR mode is it that you don't like?
I'm Playing on a Samsung UE55KS9000. Movies most certainly look WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than their non hdr counterparts, but with this I do not notice a very big difference and what I do notice, I do not really like.
Not all TVs have the same HDR performance. Especially the cheaper ones fail to deliver a good HDR image.I really need some way to compare hdr vs non hdr. I was lead to believe hdr is a bigger difference then 4k but... I can't tell the difference.
I can tell the difference in Movies. Watching movies for me is a spectacular difference but with THIS game in particular it seems that the HDR mode is not as ... "good"?I really need some way to compare hdr vs non hdr. I was lead to believe hdr is a bigger difference then 4k but... I can't tell the difference.
HDR is a game changer, but in my experience, not for this game at the momentThis thread is really making me want an Xbox One! I just purchased a Samsung KS8000 4K HDR tv for the PS4 Pro but this game looks too good to miss.
Quick question.. is the HDR a game changer?

This game is without a doubt my GOTY and GOTG so far. It is just so much fun, especially in Co-op campaign. If I didn't have so much going on this weekend I'd pull an all nighter.
Here are all the screenshots I've taken so far!

If you pause, it gives an error on resuming and starts again anyway.
That didn't happen for me, started pre-loading Tuesday and paused it at 30GB or so to go to sleep, started up the next day and finished it off. The Windows Store is very inconsistent.
Holy moly.

And not all HDR sources are created equal. Also HDR games on XB1 can't make use of the 10 bit colour gamut, which other HDR source do use. I'd love to test it on a OLED but I don't get to play untill next week

For me HDR with this game is looking kinda washed out and I'm really dissappointed.
I'm using, as said above, a Samsung UE55KS9000, which is not a cheap display at all and looks stunning when I watch movies or netflix 4k hdr.
I'm using a B6 OLED, the series of TVs which seem to be widely regarded as the best panels you can buy this year from an image quality perspective. Certainly not cheap.
Glad to hear I'm not alone in this. Would like to hear some more comments from people. I'm of the belief if you turn HDR off on the Xbox it has to restart, is that right? So you can't just toggle it. Don't get me wrong the game looks awesome, but people were touting HDR as a bigger gamechanger than 4K and right now with Forza I'm genuinely struggling to tell the difference from memory of what it looks like without HDR.
I honestly think that it may be a bad implementation of HDR in Forza, because the difference is mindblowing to me in movies.
I have a extra Warthog code. First quote gets it.
You can't activate/deactivate HDR on the fly. These hdr impressions are disappointing.....
Is it an option you switch on in game and does the tv automatically switch into hdr mode like it does when watching a uhd?
Others said they are quite satisfied with the HDR implementation.

You shouldn't be having any problems with HDR content on that TV. Reading more impressions it does sound like the game just doesn't utilize HDR well.I'm using a B6 OLED, the series of TVs which seem to be widely regarded as the best panels you can buy this year from an image quality perspective. Ps. Quoted you for the avatar
List of new things and features so far in FH3 that I haven't seen in FH2:
Ability to open car doors, hood, trunk, and get inside while in garage (Forza vista iirc)
Ability to create your own customized single player races
Car auction house (buy and sell cars online)
Driving in large bodies of water
Drone mode
Car body kits
"Building" your own festival
Am I missing anything? I feel like I'm going to easily put over 100 hours into this game.
What about the Warthog codes? I still haven't received mine.

Which would be a big disappointment if that's indeed the case. On the other hand this makes me less bothered that the PC version won't include HDR.
Did any of the reviews mention how the HDR was in the game?

So I've been asking this over and over, but could someone tell me how exactly do you unlock the Halo Warthog? I have the ultimate digital edition. Is it in the game?

ACG's Karak review mentions it. He even tried it in different tv sets it seems.
I just re listened to it, and it's only a brief touch that it "looks good"?
Apols for a potentially dullard question, but I am not that au fait with HDR, Is it possible to show the differences in HDR and non-HDR in screenshots?
Ready...
