Critic Reviews

A Gaming Network - Marcel Dee - 9 / 10
Forza Horizon 6 is an outstanding open-world racing game and one of the most enjoyable entries in the series. It captures the freedom, energy, and sense of discovery that have always made Horizon special, while adding new activities like food delivery missions, Smash Stunt, car meets, treasure cars, skill songs, and massive festival races that make Japan exciting to explore.
The only major disappointment is that the game does not fully embrace Japanese racing culture as much as it could have. More touge battles, drift-focused events, street racing, and tuning culture would have made the setting feel even more complete.
Even with that missed opportunity, Forza Horizon 6 is a fantastic racing experience. It is fast, fun, social, and constantly rewarding. If you love the Horizon series, this is easily one of its strongest entries.

Andrenoob - Andres Perdomo - Spanish - 10 / 10
Forza Horizon 6 delivers an unparalleled vision of Japan, blending breathtaking visuals with meticulous detail and fluid gameplay. It's not just a racing title—it's a cultural showcase that feels essential for motorsport fans and anyone captivated by the allure of the Land of the Rising Sun.

Atarita - Alparslan Gürlek - Turkish - 80 / 100
Forza Horizon 6 gave me the feeling that it wouldn't have made much difference to me even if it had been set somewhere other than Japan. By sticking to their tried-and-tested formula and refining the driving mechanics, Playground Games has once again managed to deliver an impressive game. However, if the mention of Japan makes you think of plenty of drifting, you'll probably end up feeling a bit disappointed, just like me.

But Why Tho? - Mick Abrahamson - 9.5 / 10
Forza Horizon 6 is the near-perfect racing sandbox fans have wanted for years.

Console Creatures - Luke Williams - 9 / 10
Playground Games revs its engines on yet another Forza Horizon experience that is both safe and still committed to racing ahead at the pace of good game development in one of its most beautiful settings yet.

Console-Tribe - Luca Saati - Italian - 95 / 100
Forza Horizon 6 doesn't reinvent the formula, but refines it to near perfection. Set in a beautifully reimagined Japan, it delivers an incredibly rich and varied open-world racing experience, backed by polished simcade gameplay, deep customization, and seamless multiplayer integration. While the lack of major innovations and an overwhelming amount of content may hold it back slightly, it remains one of the finest entries in the genre.

DayOne - Jesse Norris - 9 / 10
Forza Horizon 6 is the best and most familiar the series has ever been. The festival's arrival in Japan is a feast for the eyes, running incredibly well on every type of hardware I tried it on. Despite some issues with the ending grind, if you have ever enjoyed the series or thought about trying it, Forza Horizon 6 is an incredibly fun time.

Digital Spy - Joe Draper - 4 / 5
Forza Horizon 6 is a really fun game to play, but how long it can hold your attention will be reliant upon how much you like racing games. For me, it definitely did bring back some of those fond memories from racers back in the day.

Digitale Anime - Raouf Belhamra - Arabic - 9.5 / 10
"Japan as never seen before, the strongest Horizon experience yet"
Forza Horizon 6 delivers a mature and polished open-world racing experience that builds on the series' strongest elements and pushes them to a higher level in terms of environmental diversity and depth. Japan, and Tokyo in particular, offers a completely new identity to the experience with a massive amount of content and multiple progression systems that enhance player freedom. While the game remains more of an incremental evolution than a true revolution, it succeeds in delivering one of the most complete driving experiences of the current generation.

Digitec Magazine - Simon Balissat - German - 5 / 5
Every mile I drive in my cars is pure fun, pure adrenaline, or pure relaxation. Simply put: a masterpiece for anyone who loves cars and Japan.

Forza Horizon 6 is THE Forza Horizon game the community had been yearning for for years. Japan finally becomes the setting for the festival celebrating Eastern car culture, in the most complete and best-executed entry to date.

Enternity.gr - Panagiotis Petropoulos - Greek - 9 / 10
Continuing one of the best racing game series, Playground successfully replicates the formula of the previous game with a worthy sequel, Forza Horizon 6.

EntreMandos - Saúl Blanco - Spanish - 10 / 10
Forza Horizon 6 is, quite simply, the biggest and most ambitious instalment in the series to date, and in my opinion, it recaptures the essence of the fourth game in the series. Its spectacular setting, a jaw-dropping range of cars and a technical standard that borders on photorealism also establish it as the graphical benchmark for the current generation of consoles

Eurogamer.pt - Adolfo Soares - Portuguese - 5 / 5
Cruising down Japan's roads in Forza Horizon 6 is a visually unforgettable experience with superb handling. It may have played it safe and have a few technical glitches, but the sheer volume of content, the love for car culture, and the pure fun are more than guaranteed.

GAMINGbible - Richard Lee Breslin - 10 / 10
Out of all the gorgeous places this series has taken us, Japan was always a frequent request across social media, and now that wish has come true. On top of that, the gameplay is divine, and the content that the game has now, and perhaps what's to come, might just keep us entertained until the arrival of the next entry and beyond, wherever that may take us. We may only be in April, but I'd be surprised if anything pips Forza Horizon 6 as the best racing game of 2026.

GRYOnline.pl - Krzysztof Mysiak - Polish - 8 / 10
I'm as captivated as I am frustrated by Forza Horizon 6. It's still the best open-world racing game on the market and I intend to spend hundreds of hours playing it – but after a four-year wait and significant competition, I was expecting more innovation. It's simply more of the same, just on a fresh and beautiful map.

Game8 - Allisandra Reyes - 86 / 100
Forza Horizon 6 feels like the series finally reaching full confidence in what it wants to be. It delivers an open-world racing experience that's easy to get into without losing depth, visually stunning without sacrificing player freedom, and packed with enough variety that simply driving around doesn't stop the fun. While a few technical rough edges and a lighter narrative structure keep it from perfection, the overall package succeeds where it matters most: inspiring players to genuinely want to keep getting back behind the wheel.

GameOnly - Daniel Kucner - Polish - 4.5 / 5
Playground Games did it again! If you love racing games, then the new Forza Horizon 6 is an absolute must-buy, and if you also happen to be obsessed with Japan… then what are you still waiting for? BANZAI and run straight to the store!

GameRant - Dalton Cooper - 9 / 10
Forza Horizon 6 continues the franchise's winning streak, with Playground Games delivering yet another excellent open world racing game adventure.

GameSpew - Richard Seagrave - 9 / 10
As you'd expect, Forza Horizon 6 is the biggest and perhaps best entry in the series yet. Its recreation of Japan is absolutely brilliant too, with some truly scenic locations to visit and race across. It's just a shame that Playground Games plays it a little too safe, with this essentially feeling like Forza Horizon 5 and Forza Horizon 4 before it – but with a new map.

Gameliner - Bram Noteboom - Dutch - 4.5 / 5
Forza Horizon 6 is a must-play for fans of arcade racing games; you're guaranteed to find a S2-class game here that will undoubtedly deliver countless hours of thrilling racing fun.

Gamer Guides - Lexi Luddy - 80 / 100
Forza Horizon 6 certainly doesn't feel like a missed opportunity, but it also isn't a game that I find myself enthusiastically recommending in the way I wish I could. It's robust and varied, and even best in class in many areas, but there are noticeable foibles and missteps that hold it back from being the definitive entry in the series.

Gamer Social Club - Mark Pell - 9.5 / 10
An exceptional, breathtaking world that players will be kept busy in for years, Forza Horizon 6 is one of 2026s best games and one of the best racing games ever created.

Gaming Boulevard - Lander Van der Biest - 9 / 10
Forza Horizon 6 makes Japan feel like the perfect playground for the series. The racing is still as satisfying as ever, the map is beautiful, and I often found myself ignoring objectives just to keep driving. It's familiar in structure, but once you're on the road, that barely matters.

Geekinout.pt - Jorge Loureiro - Portuguese - 8 / 10
For anyone looking for an open-world racing game that guarantees fun, boasts incredible graphics and offers gameplay that strikes a good balance between arcade-style action and realism, the truth is that there are no real alternatives on the market. If you enjoyed the previous instalment, Forza Horizon 6 is a safe bet, provided you're aware that there's not much in the way of new features. There was potential to better capture the essence of JDM culture, but even with these shortcomings, it remains a highly appealing game that will steal dozens of hours from you.

Giant Bomb - Jeff Grubb - 5 / 5
In a lot of ways, this is my ideal video game. Becoming one with the controller and the vehicle in a drop-dead-gorgeous setting that essentially never runs out of content? It's almost perfect, and I think it's fair to use that word for the craft that is on display in Forza Horizon 6.

HCL.hr - Zoran Žalac - Unknown - 82 / 100
Forza Horizon still holds the leading position in open‑world arcade racing. However, by the sixth installment, you can feel its festival formula starting to wear out.

INVEN - Kyuman Kim - Korean - 8.9 / 10
Fans' long-held wish for a Japan setting has finally come true. Forza Horizon 6 remains the ultimate racing entertainment experience, just as the series always has been. Its well-established formula can occasionally feel too familiar, but there's no denying it remains an almost perfect playground for racing fans.

Just Play it - Ryadh Rezig - Arabic - 9 / 10
Forza Horizon 6 delivered on its promises and more, transforming Japan from a mere destination on a wishlist map into a living open world that brings together the beauty of Japanese car culture and the largest map in Playground Games' history. From nighttime Touge corners to the neon-lit streets of Tokyo, and engines whose sounds raise the bar for audio realism, this entry feels like the culmination of many years of development, offering an experience that places the series in one of its strongest eras.

Lords Of Gaming - Mahmood Ghaffar - 9.6 / 10
It's difficult to top an already stellar game. Forza Horizon 6 does everything right while finally answering a long-time fan's dream of setting the game in the land of the rising sun. Setting a new bar for open-world racing, content progression, and onboarding, user-generated content, and cultural representation, Forza Horizon 6 is a triumphant testament to the iterative progress in the long-running franchise.

MKAU Gaming - Hayden Nelson - 9.5 / 10
Forza Horizon 6 feels like a love letter to Japanese car culture, and honestly, the best Horizon games I've played since Horizon 3.

Manual dos Games - Luiz Henrique Silva - Portuguese - 9.5 / 10
Forza Horizon 6 dives deep into Japanese car culture, delivering the biggest, best, and most interactive map in the franchise's history, an incredible lineup of over 550 vehicles, and a flawless soundtrack, making Forza Horizon 6 the ultimate entry in the franchise and one of the greatest racing games of all time.

MondoXbox - Davide Mapelli - Italian - 10 / 10
Forza Horizon 6 accomplishes an extraordinary feat: improving upon a formula that was already close to perfection. Playground Games elevates the experience with a stunning, massive map of Japan, refined mechanics, and endless content. It's a majestic racing game and a true masterpiece that will keep players engaged for years to come. An absolute must-play for any racing fan.

MonsterVine - James Carr - 4.5 / 5
All of that is minor in the grand scheme of Forza Horizon 6, which continues the series' dominance in this casual, arcade-esque style of racing. The tools are there if you want to perfectly tune every aspect of your vehicle, and the difficulty and realism can be bumped through the roof if you so choose. But if you're like me, the satisfaction of drifting around turns, speeding down highways, and barreling through a forest with no regard for anyone's safety comes from the approachability offered by the best Forza Horizon game yet.

Nerdelandslaget - Andreas Solberg Hedemann - Unknown - 94 / 100
Despite offering no innovation whatsoever, Forza Horizon 6 still reigns supreme over every arcade racer out there. Nothing comes close to the feeling of taming a ferocious yellow Porsche 911 Turbo at 200 kilometers per hour beneath a canopy of pink cherry blossom trees.

Nexus Hub - Sam Aberdeen - 10 / 10
Forza Horizon 6 blends spectacle with endlessly satisfying arcade racing, a vibrant Japan setting, and an unbridled sense of fun - it doesn't reinvent the Horizon formula, but Playground Games still knows how to build the ultimate festival racer.

One More Game - Chris Garcia - 9.5 / 10
Forza Horizon 6 is another triumph for Playground Games, cementing it as the best simcade racing series out in the market. By all accounts, almost every aspect of this game is top-notch, from graphics to audio design and gameplay, delivering festival‑style racing at its most exhilarating.

Oyungezer Online - Mert Gökhan - Turkish - 8.5 / 10
Yes, the familiar formula at the heart of the game is still very much intact. At times, it even makes you think that you've played this before. But once you start speeding beneath Tokyo's neon lights or weaving through the chaos of the Shuto Expressway, that feeling quickly fades away.

PCMGAMES - Francisco Torres - Spanish - Essential
Forza Horizon 6 is a essential title for any car enthusiast, because Playground Games has not only made our dream of holding the festival in Japan a reality, but has also created the most ambitious, diverse, and passionate installment in the entire series. It's a massive tribute to Japanese car culture that makes every drive truly special.

PCMag Middle East - Vincent Peter - 3.5 / 5
Forza Horizon 6 is not the reinvention this 14 year old series is desperately calling for, but it is the most refined rendition of the series formula yet, which is still worth celebrating.

PPE.pl - Wojciech Gruszczyk - Polish - 9.5 / 10
Forza Horizon 6 is the biggest, most beautiful and most diverse instalment in the series yet, finally taking players to a dreamlike Japan. Playground Games hasn't revolutionised the series, but it has once again delivered brilliant driving, a wealth of activities, over 550 cars and a world in which it's easy to lose yourself for dozens of hours. It's still classic Forza Horizon, but in such a spectacular, rich and polished form that fans of the series will be delighted.

Pragalicious - Kevin Bogaert - Dutch - 9 / 10
Forza Horizon 6 effortlessly lives up to all expectations. If you enjoyed the previous instalments, you're sure to have a blast tearing through Tokyo and the surrounding area. The city looks breathtaking and there's more than enough to discover. The cars look even better than before and handle brilliantly once again. With Forza Horizon 6, you're once again getting a fantastic playground to lose yourself in for hours on end. An absolute must-have!

Restart.run - Jesse Vitelli - 4 / 5
Forza Horizon 6 is a great game if you want more Forza Horizon. The setting of Japan and culture that is infused into every inch of the game makes for a worthwhile experience, even if some parts of the experience leave you feeling out of gas.

SECTOR.sk - Matúš Štrba - Slovak - 9.5 / 10
Forza Horizon 6 is not only the best entry in the series, but one of the greatest arcade racers ever made. It captures the pure joy of driving in a way few games still do, in a genre that feels increasingly rare today. Its recreation of Japan is stunning and authentic, blending a vibrant open world with a deep respect for car culture. Add hundreds of hours of content, strong online play, and outstanding audiovisual presentation, and you get a game that simply feels complete.

Saving Content - Scott Ellison II - 5 / 5
Visiting Japan through the lens of Forza Horizon and it's almost circus-like festival is long overdue for this series, but it's finally here and the perfect place to be. Playground Games really refines each entry with meticulous detail and reverence for the locale they are in, and Japan is soaked in intricacies. From the incredible race variety to the customization of cars and now garages, you can truly make them uniquely yours. There's something for everyone to enjoy and engage with. Forza Horizon 6 is another masterclass entry in this long-running series where the vibes are immaculate and the races are impeccable.

You think this sheen is gonna reflect on Fable as well?

It COULD, but I'm apprehensive about the fact that it's taken this long and they've apparently had development issues. Not to mention it's a tough genre to get right compared to car racing. That being said, I think Playground is the best shot they have at making Fable work again. I don't think any of their other studios could pull it off. Not even Obsidian.

Had a feeling this would probably be the best reviewed one after watching a lot of vids. It genuinely seems like a lot of improvements over past games, not just Forza Horizon in a new setting.

Sounds good.

4 and especially 5 were heavily disappointing. Totally lost their way with progression, added a whole lot of cringe and just went backwards.

This sounds a lot more like 1 and 3 (the best two).

2/10 the avatar chicks have sharp knees 😭

A bit off topic but have you seen the movie Titane?

It's the ultimate realization of what some Gaffers want with a car thing, where a woman literally fucks a car and gets pregnant with its cum/oil (?!?!)

It was never in doubt that it would review well, not as if it was farmed off to another developer, but it seems its not quite Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift.. (I just wished they would have taken a leaf out of Project Gotham and Motorstorm and added in bikes of all varieties)

Unbelievable, thought this would be like 7/6 out of 10 but to see such high praise as a big fan since 4 I cant wait, chill arcade racing with an immaculate soundtrack. Pure bliss.

Playground Games is a top studio, possibly the best Xbox studio. It's a remarkable achievement to release another outstanding product despite having almost completely changed the team behind Forza Horizon.
If they can give Fable a similar launch, they'll definitely establish themselves as an absolute benchmark.

Predictable as fuck / 10

Glad for these who still love to play the saga entry after entry, i hoped it would bomb a bit sales wise so they try something new, seems not the case yet.

FH7 in China aiming for that massive market incoming

It's a racing game, what new were you expecting?

10/10. Would woke again.

Honestly, it is not like scores were expected to be anything but inflated. This series reminds me of Fast and Furious franchise with each sequel more over the top than the last.
