Praise be! I never once laughed at anything they ever did. Whenever it came on my wife and I would scramble for the TV remote in a panic to get it off the screen as quickly as possible.

They never canceled it before because they only cancel good shows.

Nothing else on TV gets as quick of a switch from my household.

I SWEAR I do the same thing with Carson Daly's late night show. :lol

By the way, we need the startrekyessssssss.GIF up in here.

Umm, there was one SNL cast member whose brother, who looks just like him, was on mad tv

edit: also, Frank Caliendo was on mad tv

The seasons that had Debra Wilson, Aries Spears, Michael McDonald, Alex Bornstien (sp?), Stephanie Weir, etc. were hilarious.

It's been utter shit for the past few years.

So that is where he got his start. Thanks a lot MadTV, thanks a lot.

It had some golden years with a stretch in the middle that included Debra Wilson, Nicole Sullivan, Stephnie Weir, Mo Collins, etc but once those people started dropping out they never replaced them with equal talent. The last few years had been just awful imo.

I agree, actually.

Remember Cabana Chat/Pool Boy? :lol

It started to become unfunny years ago, but when it started I thought it was funniest variety show since In-Living Color.

I've only watch the later SNL ones, but I've never, NEVER laughed at any of the skits. So I never got into it.

I always felt sad for Mad TV cast members. SNL alumni went on to be movie stars (well, the more popular ones anyway), and all Mad TV cast members all kind of faded away or got third tier television jobs. They must've been so jealous of the SNL actors.

One thing that MAD TV was able to do in its hey day was satirize black culture or black targets because they had talented black cast members.

SNL has always pretty much ignored that demographic.

Friend of mine wrote for the show, and whenever we talked about it, he started to look kind of depressed and tired.

So there you have it. Even an actual writer thought it was tedious and horrible.

Artie Lange/Orlando Jones/Will Sasso/Nicole Sullivan/Phil Lamarr um Aries Spears.

Meh, pretty bad show for the most part.

It used to be funny, back when Miss Swan (Lois from Family Guy's voice) and others were on. Now it's kind of... eh.

Still funnier than SNL, which hasn't been funny at all in seemingly forever.

Damn, the more I think about it....I completely agree with this. Pretty fucked up.

^^^QTF

will sasso, nicole sullivan, aries spears, phil lamarr, Alex Borstein

they made the show worth watching... sucks that the majority of them only get voice acting gigs.

good riddance to bad rubbish i say!

SNL has been very hit or miss over the years.
MadTV started out REALLY strong and kept on for like 5-6 years, but then fucking tanked once the original cast left.

I have the first season on DVD and it's so awesome.
