Fox cancels MadTv, finally.

Anyone that can dig up the video where Will Sasso, while impersonatin Lance Bass, interviews the real Lance Bass, will be my best friend forever

I remember Nicole Sullivan being one of my early crushes. Nowhere near as big as WWF's Sunny of course, but at this point she's probably the only other one I can remember. There were a few years where I preferred MadTV over SNL.

I don't think I've seen more than 2 or 3 eps since all the people you would associate with the show have left, though.

Does anyone else remember a skit for some type of yard cleaning product (maybe it was just a rake or something)? They showed all the different things you could clean up with it, just a few minutes of nothing but listing different types of leaves and brush with video of each thing.

I haven't watched it in years. (Not since switching to HDTV and not being able to stand it in SD) But last time I saw it, it was still a fuck hell of a lot better than SNL.

Tina Fey's Palin and Weekend Update notwithstanding, SNL is horrible. I can't STAND IT.

MadTV was awesome in the early days until Will Sasso left. :( Just like SNL was awesome until Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri left.

Both suck ass now. And honestly, I didn't even realize it was still on. I have a DVR. What, do you think I watch live TV? Come on, this is the 21st century!

Bobby Lee is about as funny as a brick wall.

I did find his "Dragon Slaying" sketch to be ridiculously awkward and funny though.

Anyway, I'm surprised this show wasn't canceled earlier. Got some good stuff from time to time but it's just so bad in general.

The seasons that had Debra Wilson, Aries Spears, Michael McDonald, Alex Bornstien (sp?), Stephanie Weir, etc. were hilarious.

It's been utter shit for the past few years.

This & Will Sasso.
The 1st 1/2 season of the show was o.k. Hit & miss, but when they got the cast overhaul with Sasso & Spears >>>>>>>>>>>>> everything SNL in the past 20 years! When that cast started to leave the show went to hell.

Bobby Lee, who was terribly unfunny the time I saw him do stand up on campus. He got so pissed at the audience.

That's why I avoided comedians at my school, because they would probably suck and I would feel awkward for them.

From the LITTLE i've seen, no more than a couple of seasons they ran in my country a few years ago, MadTV was so much much better than SNL.

Will Sasso, Orlando Jones, that UPS delivery guy!! :lol :lol SHIT WAS AWESOME

I miss MadTV :'(

MadTV could be funny, they just didn't understand how to be.

One of their biggest problems is in how they did recurring characters. They tried to just copy what they saw on SNL, which did them well. But MadTV would not take the same characters and put them in different situations so they'd react differently. They would always take the same characters, who do the same things, regardless of who's around.

Every time Stuart came out, you knew what would happen.

Every time asian lady came out, you knew how the other person would react.

SNL mixed it up. It wasn't the same each time, things would change and that bore fruit for humor. MadTV just did not understand this, so it became a tedious comedy grind.

I had a major crush on Nicole Sullivan when I was a kid, though.

Mo Collins and Nicole Sullivan should be shot.

The worst thing Comedy Central ever did was lose the rights to SNL for this.

EDIT: And Michael McDonald. And Aries Spears.

Just throw them all in a volcano.

how could you not love Debra Wison? I felt the show sucked after she left.

Debra Wilson, Will Sasso, Nichole Sullivan, Michael McDonald and Alex Boriestein made the best cast season.

Debra Wilson had a rocking body.

All I've ever seen of this series was the 'edited for TV' version of The Sopranos.

Very funny. But, on the whole I haven't heard very good things about this show.

Am I the only one that was surprised at this news only because it means the show is still on?

I used to watch this during my earlier years in high school. RIP Mad TV

that one season when they had bobby lee with all those people as well....fucking the greatest season ever.

That skit with Sasso and Bobby as unwilling gay partners was a classic.

The problem was SNL mixed it up, but still was shit.
Mad TV overused sketches, but they were funny the 1st few times around, unlike anything on SNL at the same time which was never funny to begin with.
