F that. Just renew the damn show already and quit dicking with the air dates. If not, than CANCEL. Its that easy, stupid FOX.

I swear, Arrested Development = Terry Schiavo of TV World.

BUT GUYS SINCE WHEN DID ONLINE PETITIONS MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

I totally signed though because I don't even watch the show and I figured it would be a nice gesture for invading this thread

But if FOX love the show so much as to set up an online petition, why dont' they just renew it? Stupid studio execs trying to hijack popular culture?

Signed. Just remember Family Guy and Futurama came back. Why wait till it get cancelled to make a noise about it? And BBC - put it on at a decent time.

As I mentioned on THE DAY THAT SHALL NOT BE NAMED, you can sign it multiple times, although I'm not sure if Fox is tracking IPs behind the scenes or not.

I've signed it several times now and have also linked to it copiously on my website -- it's not much, but maybe it'll help at least a little.

This is different though; if this gets axed, it's pretty much over, with the exception of maybe shopping around on a few networks or so. This isn't animated, so you can't just pick up where you left off like Family Guy; actors move on, and commit to different things.

Well, Family Guy came back, but Futurama did not. (Bastards...)

Signed, btw.

Fox can sucks my balls. Why not try some actual advertising for AD, instead of wasting time on a website only fans are going to notice anyway.

Fox is just the wrong network for a show this good, they have clearly shown they have no fucking idea what to do with great shows. Fox is only good for retarded gimmick shows like who wants to bang a midget and Melrose/90210 type trash. I would rather see it get canceled on Fox, go to NBC, and become the number one comedy on tv within 2 years. NBC is dying for a good sitcom and they are even willing to buy on to another network's, so I am praying this is what happens.

I hope that 4th floor to 3rd floor joke means NBC...

I forgot who here it was, but whoever said that they could start a network with all the great shows Fox has cancelled and beat them in the ratings couldn't be more right.

At least with Ron Howard and Brian Grazer fighting for it, cancellation won't necessarily mean death.

Imagine Scrubs, The Office and Arrested Development on one night. I think NBC could really put together a more than solid night of comedy.

I don't know, my Fox affiliate (FOX 29 Philadelphia) seems to advertise the show pretty heavily -- at least as much as they do The Simpsons, I'd say. I guess yours is different.

1/1400 of the people who watch Desperate Housewives every Sunday night.

Down to 1/555
And that's assuming people didn't sign multiple times
Of course, I'm sure Fox isn't assuming that every single person interested in the show will sign -- or has even heard of -- the petition.

Also, I've probably signed it a good 15 times by now. :D

I'm just wondering what kind of response FOX needs in order to keep this on the air. It's obvious they won't be able to compete with 45,000 signs and obvious multiple signatures.

You do realize that the signatures is the only factor in choosing to cancel/continue the show right? One of the objectives of this site is to promote the show and 'convert' people to it. It actually worked for me, I was a casual watcher....when I heard of this site that's when I started to support the series more. I went out and bought S1 (best $40 ever spent) and now watch the show every week. I always liked the show, but it wasn't until the chance of it going off the air that made me do something about it. I'm sure I'm not the only one either.

Do you know how fucking RETARDED it is that FOX made up its own "save Arrested Development" site? You know who the ones are that can save Arrested Development? FOX! Did the network come down with a sudden case of schitzofrenia (sp) and now needs to convince itself to do something? If it`s a joke then that`s pretty good but otherwise it`s just stupid.

I wouldn't be suprised if the cast of AD pushed for this...

Do you know how BRILLIANT the idea is? It's win-win for Fox.

a) They pick the show up for a third season. It looks like Fox went out of its way (if late in the game) to promote the show and gave people a chance feel like they contributed to the effort, only cementing those people as fans. Perhaps fans did, perhaps they didn't, but all that matters is that it appears that fans influenced the decision.

b) They don't pick the show up for a third season. It looks like Fox gave audiences the opportunity to save the show, and they didn't. Fox isn't 100% the bad guy this time. "It just wasn't enough, but we gave you a shot."

c) No matter what, the show gets publicity. It's a site designed for fans to share with the unitiated, what with the online clips and all, and from GAF alone, it's obviously helped garner at least a few new fans.

Personally, I'm going to be pretty shocked if it doesn't return. I think with DVD sales, the decent and consistent ratings, critical acclaim and the increasingly fervent online fandom, that Fox will keep this show around. It won't be losing money, that's for sure.

I don't blame Fox, I blame people's shit for taste as the problem. Look at how popular Friends was...

"Friends" was funny.

But I didn't watch it religiously like the series finale zealots.
