This is looking suspicious as fuck. Like normally it wouldn't be a big thing but the fact that Trump and the right have been hammering it in about her health and then this happens ... Not looking good.

This... would not surprise me. Temperatures under the lights at a debate can be pretty high. Not a definite, of course, but certainly not implausible.

She did many debates during the primary season...

Isn't the memorial she was at inside, anyway? The supposed humidity and heat of NY should be mitigated by that.

No, the 9/11 reflecting pools where this happened are outside. You can see Trump in that other picture.

Everyone else there, including Trump, seemed to do is fine. Also, if you can't stand in the hot sun for a couple of hours, you aren't very healthy.
Or just more sensitive to heat .. Everyone is differe t. I know people that are cold if it is not at least 85 ... Others get hot anything over 65. Anywhere in between really.

Man, maybe if you live in NYC.

In Houston that's a balmy fall day where I take the dog out for an hour-long walk.

Maybe she needs a new wardrobe selection. The Mao look has always seemed stuffy to me.

It's speculated that she dresses the way she does to accommodate a bullet-proof vest.

It's really hot here today, even if it's "only" 82. I woke up and had the windows open in my living room. Sat there for about an hour before I had to put on the AC because I was sweating. Its 82 in NY, not 82 in San Diego. There's a difference.

Because of the humidity? Putting on AC for 26 degrees Celsius seems crazy to me. I have never lived in a house with AC and we regularly get close to 35-38 in summer in Western Europe.

Awesome. I'm loving this election so far.

It's going to be emails and Abuela's health for the next 2mos

Midwest here. We're all dancing for joy at low 80s saying fall is here. In what world is 82 hot?

I mean, I don't want my house being 82 at any time when I'm home.

I can see this is some people's first election. Truth does not matter; perception does. Kerry vs Bush was the first election I was invested in. Kerry was portrayed as a flip-flopping, wine-drinking snob who lied about his war record. Needless to say, he lost to arguably the worst president in history.

Normally, when you shoot for TV, you cool the room down to about 65. You don't want people sweating on TV. Heat should not be a problem for the debates.

Okay folks, I've been following these threads for a while with an outside interest (not American and not living in the US either) but I'm not really an expert on American politics and how media can/can't change certain things.

So my questions are: In what way could this actually change anything? I mean for me it's the matter of one person being sick, just like anyone else in the entire world, at a bad times. It has happened to all of us at some point in time. Is this an actual threat (due to how the media and Trump can spin this) to Hillary's candidacy? If, in the least likely scenario of them all, she is truly unable to keep running will it be a default win for Trump? Or is it simply the media spinning this to far greater levels of panic than what it actually is?

For all his faults, George W. Bush is very, very far from being the worst president in history.

Well now CNN is reporting that she had to leave the 9/11 ceremony early due to 'health issues'. So what do you people have to say now?

It's almost like confirmation bias is a thing.

Why would he win the GE if he couldn't even win the primaries?

He has more broad appeal and less baggage. That and the fact that Clinton supporters would be forced to vote for him would give him a much easier time(clinton voters are more likely to see a duty in voting for another democrat where as a lot of bernie supporters might not be voting clinton). To be honest any normal democrat should be having a super easy time against Trump.

Yeah 82 ain't hot, but if she came to the memorial already not feeling well, then yeah it would make sense that being in a crowd on a warm day would make her feel worse.

FDR couldn't fucking walk.

Nixon looked like he was freaking out on a debate stage

Rubio short circuited on a debate stage.

Clinton... got sick during a ceremony.

Notice the difference?

It's torture watching her have the constant lead in all swing states, with national leads ranging from +4 all the way to +7/+8?
That those are issues with optics?

FDR's condition was largely hidden from the public. People noticed Nixon being sweaty and more frail looking versus Kennedy. Rubio did what he always does. Clinton has been dogging reports about her health(true or not) and has an issue during a ceremony.

None of these are about policy or substance. They're about appearance. And FDR's handlers knew it would be an issue then and thus kept it from the public. Nixon's perceived better performance via radio was immediately noticed versus his perceived worse performance when seen via TV.

I'm just saying I don't trust the American population at large to be able to understand the history and separate minor to non-existent issues versus actual policy. Luckily in the case of FDR and Kennedy, it worked out positively for progressives.

a grandmother felt a bit overheated during an 80 degree 40% humidity day while standing outside not moving for a while? welp I guess I better vote for the bigoted war hungry oompa loompa from hell /s

Worst attack on American soil. Check.
Biggest financial crisis since The Great Depression. Check.
Unnecessary war that destabilized the Middle East. Check.
Worst ever. Arguably.

But back to your regularly scheduled thread.
