the city looks fantastic (well for a first gen game that is), especially at night. The car model is fucking horrendous. The main character model looks like something out of a 5 year old Naomi game or something.

Screens don't do the game justice, in motion it's beautiful though it had a very early build, the ennemies were responding akwardly when being shot at hehe.

USE YOUR HEADS PEOPLE. IF A GAME LOOKS WORSE THAN DOOM 3 OR HALF-LIFE 2, OLD PC GAMES ON OLD(BY X360 STANDARDS) HARDWARE THEY OBVIOUSLY ARE EARLY BUILDS, AREN'T USING THE FULL POWER OF THE MACHINE, OR ARE DONE BY AN UNTALENTED DEV. SECONDLY, GRAPHICS DON'T MEAN MUCH.

That shit is just embarrassing. Namco should just pull the plug on this crap and fire everyone involved.

This game looks terrible in stills but the video did make it look a lot better - still it doesn't work well as an advertisement of next gen power. It looked like the environments were at a finished stage but the people, the animations, the gameplay, all looked like they'd just been cobbled together for the demo. They wouldn't want to release the game with any of those elements as they are.

I love the sense of expansiveness in this game, which the videos convey a lot better than screenshots. Regardless of detail (although that's something I do appreciate), this is something I'm looking forward to next-gen -- much more expansive and 'living' game worlds.

I guess I am the only one who thought the video looked horrible too. I absolutely hate the view while shooting. Its got a LONG way to go....hopefully.

"what's with the sharp polygonal wheels?

it's like those bad matrix games again."

You have to see the video the game looks to be on an even grander scale then GTA. Buildings, bars and cities are fully populated. More like a mix between Shenmue and GTA.

I think those cheap fucking bastards at Namco are using Unreal Engine 2 that came free with XBox 1 dev kits for this POS. I'M NOT JOKING!!

The self shadowing and the shadows on the ground make a HUGE difference.

It's next gen, but it's not much of a leap. Compare it to games like GTA: SA and it looks A WHOLE GENERATION BETTER.

They really have to bump up the quality of the characters though...their poly counts are near Shen Mue levels!

Or they're just shitty games. If this game is going to be the bees knees when it's released then it shouldn't be fucking shown right now.

Anyone who thinks this game is anything but butt ass ugly is way too easily impressed by a bunch of neon lights and no-AI pedestrians. For fucks sake there's not even any shadows in some of the shots.

Agreed - Lighting and texture work is amazing.

Poly levels and animation (in the movies) really blow.

Could turn out to be great if they refine it. Certainly, the scale seems to be there.

"Yay" for decent texture filtering. "Boo" for lack of soft shadows. Really though, this game is still way too rough to judge.

Actually what impresses me is that it uses softer shadows in places that are appropriate, and uses hard shadows when it is appropriate as well.

Although some pics have absolutely NO shadows :P
