Perhaps the least impressive looking Unreal Engine 3 game I've seen to date. Hard to believe this and Gears of War share the same engine and are on the same console...

WTF? There's no way these two share the same engine. :O

Scary.

But holy SHIT, GAMEPLAY SCREEN SHOTS OF AN XBOX 360 GAME that's not made to look like a cinematic!

Hopefully more of these will come soon.

I still think it looks good. There's nice texture detail and you can see the shaders at work.
Models look pretty good, too.

its the best looking gta styled game yet (technically). the art is definitely a little strange... but its grown on me a bit. its still lol bad, but it seems pretty cohesive as a whole, it works. reminds me of like an 70's/80's anime about the future.

oh, and the most recent trailer is really really well done IMO.

I'll give it benefit of the doubt that the 360 debug kits are still early. But still, Gears of War is running on the same version of debug kit and it's a much better example graphically of what the Unreal Engine 3 can do on Xbox 360.

These small screens are nice, but I think it looks pretty bad at 720p. Saint's Row looks much better, in my opinion, and that isn't saying much.

The trailer had nice music and a cinematic feel to it, but the graphics did not impress me.

Grrrrrruhhhh?

Metric system, they use centimeter for height and kilograms for weight. Because of being taught the English system of measurement it's takes me a while to grasp a reference point that is not in pounds, inches, and feet.

EDIT: I think it looks pretty good, it's certainly growing on me.

I'm actually liking this. I get a kick out of the design of the hero--he looks like a Wall Street refugee from the 80's--and the whole 'virtual light'-style cybershades thing.

Agree 100%

This game is probably going to be really bad. For some reason it reminds me of the old Dreamcast games like Shenmue and Headhunter and Dynamite Cop.

And you've gotta admit the scenes with him shooting look like Virtua Cop with an over the shoulder camera

quite a few people like shenmue and headhunter...

but you sparked some recognition in my brain... this game reminds me of rent-a-hero!

Those photos almost look good. The lighting is nice, and at least some of the environment is also pleasantly done here. But the characters, as stiff and as plastic-haired as I remember.

shenmue indeed!

finally, some shots from the trailer that are direct captures

i really hope shit like this will be in the game, and not just cinematics or something... imagine crashing through this street fair with a big rig :D

Comparing this to GOW graphically is pretty fucking stupid people. Same engine, completely different scope, this is a giant open ended city whereas GOW is tight confined levels. Obviously the graphics aren't going to compare. That considered it looks pretty good, though the main characters hair and shades look really god damn stupid.

Plus this seems to be coming out earlier than GOW and already has a better framerate.

I'm sure with those microtransactions you can buy him some different shades, people. Calm down.
Maybe you can also buy him a haircut? THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS, as VelocityGirl might say.
