Ass Effect is like a shitty Halo clone accept Halo is way better. Halo doesn't have shitty anime rpg shit and tentacle crap that is a disgrace to American gaming. THe main character isn't even as cool, at least Halo wares green armor, he's even more badass than metroid, and he was pretty badass.

Except you'll spend the entire game gathering a team of people together, gaining their trust through shitty, annoying 'loyalty missions' before rushing through the final section, inevitably getting them, and possibly yourself killed whilst sharks are jumped.

Imagine an iOS game where you play as a human generator for a hospital and you must constantly be rotating the iPhone to simulate the real-time turning of a generator wheel. I'm Simmons. This assassin girl doesn't like me, so I'm going to try and make a clone of her using biology and all my family's money and power. I'm going to kill the President because he doesn't like biological weapons and I'm going to keep the government's role as being impeccable. Now the clone doesn't like me either and is trying to destroy the world and me too. Also the clone is creating a big monster which is incubating in a tube which only a roided up meathead and his butt buddy can kill, but not the global army. Also, the clone has another monster which has interchangable hand apparatuses under her control, which she is using to hunt down the son of a madman who also happens to have the only source of antibodies for the virus i've been creating. In order to track him, i'm going to send in one of the few remaining survivors of citywide pandemic from 15 years ago, who knows the boyfriend of the girl who didn't like me in the first place.
