Freedom To Buy Games (Good Old Games fights back censorship)

no way im putting this degeneracy on my library
I didn't realize they all came in a bundle. I just wanted Postal2 and Agony for the violent degeneracy; now I've got a bunch of pervy degeneracy.

Same situation.

Have Postal and Postal 2 already, just want Agony.

I'm happy GOG's taking a stand against payment processors and their attempt at censorship, but I don't want porn games associated with my account lol

That's hilarious lol

That selection of games is absolutely memetic

I wonder how the credit card companies will censor the world if you can just give things for free and bypass payments entirely???

The vast majority of people don't care about any of this controversy. We have enough places on the internet for perverts to go. I don't really see a reason to create more perv-zones.

I genuinely didn't care about this issue until people thought Mouthwashing was affected by it on Itch.io. Thankfully it wasn't, but it was concerning. If they're trying to do that with this, what makes you think they won't try to do it with mature violent horror games? They very well could.

You need to look further down the road. They start with the egregious stuff, and when that's gone they move on to everything else. The more success they have with censorship, the more emboldened they become. We don't need a handful of people imposing their will on the free market.
Exactly. I couldn't agree more.

I mean look at the attempts to stop violent / mature games in the past. Sure they failed, but if they were able to pull down some weird perv games successfully, I think it's worth being concerned about what else they could successfully pull down that they "don't agree with".

I just added them, but they also came with outer worlds, quake 2, Neverwinter nights?
They're all showing as 'new' in my GOG account and I last logged in a month ago and they weren't there.

I don't really believe any of this tasteless garbage is actually gooning-worthy, but that's such a great move.

Not cool since I cannot redeem this code without also redeeming the porn! :messenger_face_steam:

I really love porn, but it's gotta be gay, and furry, and that kind of stuff is just terror for me. :messenger_smiling_horns:

Well, now my left hand is mad at me.

Try Being a DIK, when it comes to NSFW games, that one is top tier. GOG now stands for Good Old Gooning.

GoG always says this no matter what you claim. I could be claiming the most obscure crap game from Prime Gaming on GoG and it will show this message.

This message is new though:

I'm getting censored even in protest.

It doesn't work right now, shame as I wanted to try HuniePop and Agony.

That being said, sooner or later a new platform will emerge and take payments that don't go through MC/Visa, either via SEPA DD (but it would be EU only) or one of the A2A payment providers. The market is just too big to ignore.

Edit: actually it worked now

I don't care about any of this slop but i fully support the effort to de-dystopianize our reality.

GOG once again proving to be the only storefront worth of consideration.

I'm not sure if it was what made it work as I was getting this too, but I changed my region to United States and threw the VPN over there and it worked.
Could've been a coincidence too.

I just kept trying, signed out then back in then it worked. Not sure what was wrong.

It "never" worked when I tried, errors 100% of the time pressing the buttons. But soon "PLING", email showed up and said games added, and they were in the list of games I "owned" on the website too.

They can't, it's kind of like a hollow gesture on GoG's part.

Itch has also restored all the 'free' NSFW games, the paid ones are still blocked.

This is societal issue really. Just stopping the selling of porn games isn't going to solve it. Why do people want to buy all these porn games? ( and a use the term porn games loosely as there seem to be an over abundance of rape and incest games ) all I can say is look at how people dress and act these days. That's your issue. We live in a hyper sexualized world so full of stupidity no one can even talk anymore. " they not like us they not like us" 😵‍💫

I like porn games and totally support it.
I don't watch porn at all as i find that 90% of the "pro" videos turn me off.

I laugh when i see Visa finding me to be a potential danger to women because i play gooner games but find Brazzers videos where womans are throbbing & gagging with a 20cm stick pushed down their throat and watery eyes okay at the same time.

I didn't realize they all came in a bundle. I just wanted Postal2 and Agony for the violent degeneracy; now I've got a bunch of pervy degeneracy. And unlike my Steam library, GOG can be transferred to my heirs upon death, so now I've got some explaining to do.
Tell them you fought the good fight against censorship. Your other kin will tell them you died a hero, with one hand firmly holding your weapon, and the other holding your mouse.

Kind of a bold move to put a target on their back, but I respect it.

Don't worry; we know the people who are pushing the payment processors to do this overzealous censorship. So now they've got targets on their backs too. Fair game :).

Anyway, redeemed a couple, maybe a bit more. Dunno if I'll ever end up playing these games, but it's a show of support against needless censorship, especially in creative spaces.

This is stupid. No one is stopping people from making these games. If a shop or a store doesnt want to sell these games for any reason thats not censorship. That is their right to sell or not sell whatever they want for any reason as long as they are not breaking any laws.

Itch and Steam want to sell, but their payment processors have pressured them into stopping.

It's the credit card companies not the shops or stores.

WHAT?! Its never enough, unless I start seeing feet photos on every website, even the drill and plank section, it will never be enough.

I'm pretty sure none of these games are delisted on Steam, so I'm not sure who GoG is sticking it to, in this case. Besides gamers to their keyboards, yuk yuk.

This specific aspect of the discussion is so fascinating to me.

"I didn't care about this issue until i came across deliberate misinformation about it…and now I am so concerned that the actual falsehood I read might come true, I now care a lot!"
