People people. Instead of wasting your life away, dredging through countless episodes just to see someone throw a god dammed punch, Id like to reccomend some REAL entertainment.

1. Wild Striker

wild_striker.jpg

Kyosuke is a 16 years old boy in the first year of Jyoyo Akanegaoka high school.

He used to play soccer in junior high, but dicided to quite soccer for some reasons...

However, in the first year of high school, he accidentaly becomes the team manager of a female soccer club and realizes that he still love soccer very much.

Kyosuke finally joins the soccer team, and will grow up ,with the attractive teammates and rivals, to be one of the top strikers in the world!

The TV series is the real hot drama full of exciting soccer performances, friendships and heart-warming stories, based on "Hungry Heart" by Yoichi Takahashi, the author of "Captain Tsubasa".

2. Ayatsuri Sakon

ayatsudrama1.jpg

Sakon is the grandson of the famous Bunraku master, Tachibana Zaemon. He is incredibly shy and lacks confidence in himself. However, when he is with his puppet, Ukon, he is able to focus himself and his crime-solving abilities. As a contrast to traditional Bunraku puppeteering, Sakon is an expert ventriloquist. He uses his talent of mimicing and throwing voices to confront the villains and often force a confession. Ukon is a beautiful Bunraku puppet created in 1870, supposedly by the Master puppet-builder Unosuke Koizumi III. But Ukon doesn't act as a good Bunraku puppet should. When he is with Sakon, he is forward, obnoxious, flirtatious, coarse, and very egocentric. Together, Sakon and Ukon travel around Japan, solving mysteries, murders, and horrific crimes. In the meantime, Sakon's aunt Kaoruko, a young and pretty police detective, helps him out and keeps an eye on him.

3. Air

air-top1.jpg

The 'girl in the sky' is a legend passed down through the ranks of one special family. Armed with the magical puppet skills he learned from his mother, Kunisaki Yukito follows in her footsteps, traveling from place to place, ever searching for that girl in the sky, ever chasing after that legend. His journeys have led him to a small costal town where he meets a girl that has a peculiar interest in him -- could she be the one? As events slowly start to unfold in front of his very eyes, Kunisaki Yukito finds himself amidst a story that spans a thousand summers...

Note: This isnt like love hina. Theres isnt even any fanservice. So please dont disregard it by its looks

4. Uninhabited Planet Survive

ups7ml.jpg

In the future, most of mankind lives in artificial space colonies, climate-controlled and completely safe. The orphan girl Luna, selected to receive a scholarship at the prestigious Soria Academy, finds herself in quite different circumstances. An excursion gone terribly awry leads to Luna and her classmates being stranded on an uninhabited planet. Without any experience of untamed nature, the motley crew is faced with a challenging struggle to stay alive until rescue comes. If it comes...

#3 is Air, my favorite anime of this winter season.

Naruto well.. There's gotta be something for the kiddies and teenyboppers and adults who refuse to grow up. That's Naruto. :) At least One Piece is goofy enough that it's okay for adults to enjoy, but Naruto is just mindless fighting with all of the cliches thrown in. BLEAH.

Naruto > One Piece

Fuck everyone who disagrees, but a special "stfu" to the endless stream of Naruto haters who insist on whining about how it sucks so bad they could barely watch the first 90 episodes before the fact it's not the best thing ever made them stop watching and instead focus on trying to compare Naruto to other 'uncool' anime from days of yore.

So, in summary, fuck #ga. :lol No shit it's not the best anime around, but it's at least as good as most of the drek the anime cultural elite try to pimp.

Thank you. I haven't really kept up with anime lately since I can't watch all the shows and sample them. I'll be sure to give Air my attention.

I heard THIS is really good. Now if I can only get this anime easily, that will be really nice. :D

Air and Wild Striker is ok.

The second one, I have no idea what that is but I'll check it out.

There are better anime than Naruto, I don't see why you should feel threatened though. It's got it's fanbase but I don't think anyone's claiming it to be the best anime out there. Anyway

I guess someone is feeling threatened by Naruto's growing popularity, seeing as how you're going out of your way to suggest other anime to people.

I don't understand this logic. If you hate something and mostly or partially because of its popularity, why do you care if people watch what you like? In essence, you are trying to become what you hate most.

Lastly, Naruto rocks. I guess the 'mature' people have to look down upon the fans by making comparisons to Dragonball Z. Why sit through a ninja battle when I can watch a soccer match?!

It got a little silly near the end but it wasn't half bad at all. 52 eps so it'll take a while to download. :)

I prefer Naruto to one piece, from the get go its much more instantly satisfying. However I think Bleach is a better show then either of them put togethor.

I like bleach but haven't kept up with it. I think Champloo and Monster are the best shows going but they're so different I don't have to pick one or the other.

Naruto rocks. :p

God I really hate people who insist over and over how much they hate naruto. It's popular. You’re cool and l33t. We get it. -__-;

I just hate this elitist mentality of hating something because it's popular and you dont' like it. It's like the world will end if you -- GASP -- don't like an anime out there so it must be your mission to force every single soul in the universe to be like you and love/hate what you love/hate. Jeez stfu.

jesus It's a SHOUNEN anime like 99% of the stuff out there. How many times must luffy scream I WILL SAVE MY NAKAMA and gain kick the bad guy into the ground before you realize that? The Water 7 arc in the manga is taking the series to a new level, but there’s absolutely nothing in it that makes it ‘more okay’ for adults to watch.

This is especially true with the last few filler episodes.

I dont see how you can like wild striker and not like Naruto. They share a lot of similar elements like cheesiness and depth in the fighting/playing.

Air is awesome if you dont have issues watching super cutenessity. Even then, the cute factor settles down after a few episodes and the story picks up really well. Watch it now!

I'm gonna miss Champloo when it ends. It's been airing a year now almost. I mean, with the break when switching networks, but it's been quite a series to follow. Hopefully something else can grab me like that after it's over.

Interesting.. might give that a shot.

But anyway, I see too many Bleach, Naruto's, One Piece, Champloo etc etc. What about ol' Ghost in the Shell :D

Most people I see seem to hate Naruto more because of the idiot fans. The majority of Naruto fans seem to be between the age of 13 and 16 years old. These are the kids calling it the next DBZ, and hoping it becomes like that.

Now a great anime to watch is Fantastic Children.

Take naruto for what it is, a long winded shounen action anime. The excitement you get out of it is similar to DBZ or WWE or any kind of fighting.. "ooh its ___ vs ___!!!" the drama of it is purely that. On the sides you get minor character development with sometimes interesting characters from different backgrounds with their special abilities, personality, trials and tribulations. I kinda like the ongoing theme of genius vs hard worker... Its often dragging but every few eps you might find yourself getting excited for the next episode.

GitS is a given. I'm not watching 2nd Gig right now but 1st season is fucking great. I'm holding out until all eps are out then watch them in a marathon... just like I did 1st season.

"Ol'" Ghost in the Shell blows.

Now, if we're talking about Stand Alone Complex, well, that's something else entirely. :D

There's some posters here, one more than the others that keep referring to Naruto as NBZ (DBZ get it). I mean wth. DBZ is a whole new low of suckage compared to Naruto. In Naruto at least some fighting and technique that actually goes on instead of DBZ that is all fireball 100x, punch 1000x, kamehameha kamehahahaaheeaha. over. I mean wtf is that?

One Piece > Naruto & Bleach >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> T Rex cartoon > DBZ. I mean I did loved DBZ when I was a kid but then I was young and stupid then.

People were in love with Naruto when it was relatively unpopular. Now that it's gaining in general popularity, it sucks. In the future, when the popularity dies down, it'll go back to being good. That's how things work around here.

Along with Monster
Thank you. The Monster thread is so crazily close knit, it's a little depressing, no offense to you guys at all. :p But to see whining over Naruto being licensed while we struggle to create a discussion over a great anime is gravely depressing.

Aside from Yakitate Japan! and its release every other week, Monster is all I'm watching.
