No. It'll be another 10 or 15 episodes before you see
Pride.
Although
you did hear his voice in the fight between Ling, Ran Fan, Envy, and Gluttony that was cut.

Ah, that must be where I got that from, need to re-read it at some point, its been far too long since I have.

Man, the Fuhrer is so terrifying in this version. He is a supreme bad-ass.

Thing I love about Bradley in this version is that he's just as terrifying as 'the man' as he is as Wrath, the Ultimate Eye.

Later on in the manga (and in Brotherhood) - you get to see just how badass he can really be.

Oh I know, current manga chapter more than highlights that! Just a joy to see this Bradley animated. Such a rapid cliffhanger 21 was left on with his terrifying battle speed in full effect.

I was surprised Ran Fan turned into Typical Helpless Girl #12 for a moment there. But I guess Wrath does that to people.

Everyone is pretty much helpless against Wrath.

Yep.

King Bradley and Roy Mustang are my two personal favorite characters in Full Metal Alchemist. I'm sure those of you who have had no previous exposure to the manga storyline can already see a little bit why :D

I'm hoping that
we get to hear from Pride next week during Ling's fight with Gluttony and Wrath. They added the stuff about how Ling and Ran Fan and sense Homunculi to the beginning of the fight in this week's episode, so I hope they add the Pride part next week too.

It seems that they're considering moving Brotherhood to a new time slot to try and "save" the show. The show's ratings are only around half as high on average as the first anime adaptation, and the first DVD's sales were apparently low, as well.

I'll be sad if they cancel it :(

If they hadn't cut out the fight with Envy it would have shown that she was at least competent against homunculus.

I dont think they'll cancel it, in my years of watching anime i've never seen a show get canceled mid-way through a season. Unless there's some example i'm not aware of.

Gundam X (Sunrise), FF Unlimited (Gonzo), Ayakashi Ayashi (BONES). Just a few examples.

Episode 22 covered
Scar's Flashback
. They handled it very well, the sepia tones with splashes of colour, really set the mood. Also helped to show Scars anger toward the end.

Episode 22... has me really looking forward to 23, just from the breif preview at the end of it. The episode itself felt kind of short for some reason.

Ep. 22 was a lot of fun to watch (granted though I appreciated watching it subbed rather than the livestream - as I didn't have to deal with the lag).

Great development for Scar, but aside from Bradley exuding his awesomeness, seeing the Ishval flashbacks just make me anxious to see those chapters animated - easily one of the best story arcs in the manga imo.

Looking forward to ep. 23 now. :D

I won't believe that until I see a source for it.

FMA is a popular enough franchise to be profitable in the long term regardless of current ratings.

Hell, as far as the DVD sales for vol. 1 - I did my part as I bought the BD version and got the 'Rouge' box. Loved watching the eps. 1-2 and the Blind Alchemist OVA on my PS3. :D

Also Inuyasha?

Inuyasha wasn't canned. It just stopped because the manga wasn't ending and the staff didn't want to work on it indefinitely. It's coming back in October to finish off the series now that the manga is long over.

Ep. 22 was solid. Action, while there wasn't much of it, it was suffice for a set piece episode. Quite well paced scenes, and as usual the dialogue was substantial. Uninterupted Fuhrer vs. Ling should be enjoyable, so I hope we get that. I wish Gluttony was more relevant, at the moment he just isn't getting enough screen time, dialogue, or relevance to the story. I would have thought he would've become more involved and voiced once Lust died, whereby he should have been more emotionally expressed, which just hasn't happened.

I don't think the show will get canned, or have a reduced budget from here on out. But the thought and talk of it happening is scary. :(

I thought ep. 22 was really great, despite only a little action. The way they had the flashback was really great with few colors, and the very end of the episode really got to me...

I doubt there's much shot of it being canceled outright, perhaps moved worst-case scenario. DVD sales are way down but still good by industry standards.

The idea of FMA being canned is just so preposterous I can't even fathom the idea.

A) FMA is a worldwide, not just Japanese, franchise.
B) The costs to produce it probably don't even compare with that of any live-action stuff, to the point that I can barely understand how it wouldn't be profitable. Even if it makes half what Series 1 did, I can't believe that's not a "profit."
C) The story is already written and requires little to no effort.

Surprised to see that no one has posted, yet. Episode 23 is the best that the series has yet offered, IMHO. With each episode topping the last since 19, I think it's safe to say the series has finally hit its stride.

Now, please, can you stop hating on it, Duckroll? :(

The only thing I can say is, you haven't seen anything yet. It keeps on getting better as the pieces fall into place.

Oh, I know. I'm waiting for the next chapter of the manga with bated breath.

I wouldn't be surprised if the deals they have to air it internationally/on the web wouldn't let them cancel it based on one-time domestic ratings.

Somehow I doubt Funimation and other localizers have anywhere near the pull you are suggesting :lol

Loved ep. 23, though still hasn't topped ep. 19 imo.

Anyways, it was a great episode, and it makes me wish I had a panda the size of a cat for my very own. Xiao Mei is such a great 'pet' (I prefer Black Hayate more :p).

Episode 23 was great, but still not topping 19th for me.
Preview for the next episode is incredible though, and I have a question.
I've read first 5 volumes of manga (up to the island on which they were tested by Izumi) and I want to know if there was anything important omitted from manga between this and the current episodes... (
I know about Ling fight where we learn that they can sense homunculi
, but was there something besides that)? Or can I start reading manga from the point where anime is right now :D ?

Less suggesting that Funi could prevent it from being cancelled than suggesting that perhaps the money they get from it as an international product is enough to justify continuing to produce it. I guess I don't really know how localization agreements really work, i.e. whether a specific number is specified or not.

If the ratings for FMA are bad, what the hell were they like for Endless Eight?

They skipped a Hohenheim scene in the anime that was imo pretty important I think, but you can survive without it I guess.
