We use WebSense* here. I just queried 'gaf, and it listed it as a "message board/forum." Naturally, I'm around all the blocks... for "testing."

me too! Blocked yesterday, working now. I guess our companies use some kind of similar parent filter. This has actually happened to me before, too. So don't lose faith if you get blocked :-D
Not so much spying as just saying this site is off limits.wow companies spy on their employees web browsing?
That really rustles my jimmies.
Even the IP is blocked now, do we all work for the same financial firm?)
Um how about you do some work?
Strangely enough, Gaf is blocked on my mobile phone when I'm connected to my company's wifi, but it's not blocked on my wired desktop.
Bumping just to see if anyone else recently got hit by this. Was on GAF yesterday. No joy today. :|
Good luck doing any of this on a work computer.
www.megaproxy.com is a free browser based proxy, you get a daily limit, but Neogaf sans images should not trouble that. You can't login, browse only.
You can install tunnelbear.com which gives you an IP tunnel with 300mb free a month, you can login and post using this, but need to be able to install the software on your work PC.
Use Windows Remote Desktop to log in to another PC and browse neogaf from there. There is a hack to enable Remote Desktop on all flavours of Windows 7. http://www.raymond.cc/blog/enable-remote-desktop-connection-in-windows-7-home-premium/. No need to install anything on your work PC, but IT may have disabled the Remote Desktop program. There are alternatives like Splashtop and TeamViewer, but I'm not familiar with them. Google Chrome also has Remote Desktop features in a beta release.
If you are really desperate then you can use the Google search cache to browse, a bit of a pain, because each thread requires a new search before you can access. Sometimes just changing the thread page number in the search cache URL works. For example http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=735041
Another avenue I haven't explored yet is hosting proxy software on a Wordpress blog, see guide here: http://lamp.sangkrit.net/2012/07/14/make-your-own-proxy-site-using-wordpress/
Finally I believe NeoGaf could help us all if they enabled HTTPS on the site. That is often a good way through a firewall as all the traffic is encrypted.
My company started blocking it about 6 months ago, but only did for about 3 months. They did the same with Reddit too. Neither site is blocked anymore.
I'd probably die if my work blocked GAF.
Go to preferences and turn gifs and images off.
In the 90s there was no internet. You'd do amazing things with paper clips.
