FX has put in development a TV series based on Lions Gate Films' hit indie to be produced by Lions Gate Television.

Don Cheadle, one of the stars of the gritty drama about race relations in post-Sept. 11 Los Angeles, is likely to appear in and direct several episodes of the project if it goes into series. Sources said talks are under way with all other members of the cast, including Sandra Bullock, Matt Dillon, Brendan Fraser and rapper Ludacris, to reprise their roles from the film.

woah...

I have no idea how they're going to serialize this...

(reads linked article)

Haggis didn't mention tv at the screening I attended..

It has to be character driven to succeed as a "gritty" drama, hmmm.

Any word when this movie is hitting Stores? i know it wasnt too long ago it was in theaters but this seems like the kind of movie that would come quickly to dvd.

50 million domestic dollars raked in. 10 million dollar budget. A movie completely devoted to throwing around as many racial epithets as it could within 2 hours. I'd say it's been a huge in the theaters.

FX has pumped out nothing but solid tv shows in the past few years.. I hope this pans out, because it could be amazing if it does. The movie blew me away.

Has anyone watched that show 30 Days on FX yet? The creator, Morgan Sperlock (who directed Super Size Me) was on the Daily Show last night talking about it. It seems pretty interesting. The basic premise is that they take someone of one particular viewpoint and then have them live with someone of an opposing viewpoint for 30 days. For instance, the first show has a Christian from West Virginia going to live with a Muslim family.

As far as I can tell, it looks like the first reality show that's actually about, gasp, reality.

There's a thread about the show floating around the forums somewhere. It's an interesting concept and show.
