G-Man: The most mysterious character in all of gaming?

Gamer79

Predicts the worst decade for Sony starting 2022
To be honest, the whole Half life Story is pretty fucking weird. It has ties with Doom in that it is the case of teleportation has gone wrong. It starts with the Black Mesa Incident and on through to Half life 2. Despite the fact he is a Gaming Icon, there is almost nothing we can say about this "man." We know that he can control time, somehow has telepathic abilities, can teleport, seems beyond attack from Human or alien species, and as the video I will provide that I believe is the best breakdown of the black mesa incident brings up an even larger Question. Who does the G-Man work for? He uses phrases like "my employers" so that already tells you he is not at the top of the food chain. The way he speaks and behaves doesn't seem human. It seems like something replicating a human. The Baby thing with the third arm at the end of black mesa also insinuates they themselves are enslaved or scared of something else. Thoughts?

Also this guy far and away breaks down the OG half life better than anyone I have seen. To be honest, I couldn't make much sense of the story outside of Gordon causing havoc and aliens wanting to take over.

There is nothing mysterious - he is just a lazy Deus Ex Machina story device to make things happen or getting them resolved.
Why so cynical?

It's unexplained until it needs to be explained. You not knowing the answer doesn't necessarily mean there isn't one. Not only that, but you could probably say the same thing about so many mysteries in all of storytelling if you want to apply that logic.

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
Imagine if Gabe and David Lynch teamed up for Half Life 3.
Man, why hasn’t David Lynch gotten into gaming yet? Paired with a developer who knows good gameplay, he’d absolutely kill it. But I bet he turns his nose up at video games.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Can you remind me what the retcons are please?
Sure!

HL2 to HL2:EP1. Instead of G-Man taking Gordon away like in HL1 (which is the ending of HL2), some vortigaunts appear and stop G-Man from doing his thing at the start of EP1.

And more recently, HL:A's ending invalidating HL2:EP2's ending.

They stop him directly after the ending of Half life 2 right? Like Episode 2 the vortigaunts appear while he tries to take him away? Also - what does the HL:A retcon do that’s inconsistent with G-Man’s character?

No. At the end of HL2 he takes you. At the beggining of HL2:EP1 they stop him from doing so.

About HL:A. Yeah I guess what happens is on character, but they use that to rewrite the ending of EP2 so I would still consider that a retcon.
