I think it's layoffs and studio closing because some very minor financial losses of the larger company

Thread 'Next-gen Racing Graphics Face-off | (Next-gen means current-gen)'

The previous vs thread for Forza/Gran Turismo seemed to do a good job of keeping other discussion threads a little neater, and made a heck of a fun "Reader's Digest" of the best of the genre. Screenshots, gifs and webms are all good.

The only rules I'd like to see adhered to are as follows:

Games that ruin peoples lifes.
Games that were specifically designed to make people addicted to get as much money out of their pockets as possible. And the politicians who do nothing about it.

Perhaps how effective it can be as a form of escapism, reducing people's motivation to look at the outside world, seek adventure and meet other people.
 
A CEO of EA killing beloved IPs for the wrong reasons, Capcom having a sequence number of bad releases or Gacha/eastern games starting to steal elements found in western games and exceeded our expectations.

Quantity vs. Quality

At least for me one of the worst developments has been games being measured by length and "content" versus gameplay depth, quality and therefore replayability. The idea of one of these Ubisoft monstrosities being exciting because it's basically "even more shit than last time!" disgusts me.
 
How realistic rocks can be rendered by different engines.

I swear I've seen people justify themselves liking Death Stranding 2 even if rocks in some place are not so high quality.

I think us, the consumer, having so little rights to our purchases, that arent purchases, but like a lease until companies say fuck you, at any time they want. We lost so much going digital it is actually disturbing.
